    STEINKE SERVICES INC
Extremely poorly. Job was not done up-to-code. Left after 5 weeks (Project UNFINISHED) and attempted to sue my mother. Here is my mother's complaint to the Better Business Bureau: "I hired a licensed electrician (*** *****, my coworkers husband) to replace the knob and tube wiring on a home I purchased. The first month my daughters and I all had to sleep in the living room as all electricity had been disconnected on the second floor, 5 weeks into a job that should have taken a... week he left the job incomplete and many issues that will need to be corrected. One week after he disappeared I received an invoice for $5780.00 for "work completed" by a company (Steinke Services Inc) that I never hired charging $120.00 an hour (which I never agreed to) for their services as well as $1215.00 for materials I haven't received any documentation for. I called Steinke Services asking for an explanation and was informed *** ***** is their employee and that their company had pulled the electrical permit so it was their job. I never gave permission to anyone but *** ***** to obtain a permit for my home and was told by *** ***** that he had pulled the electrical permit. I attempted to email Steinke Services Inc to negotiate a fair and reasonable settlement for work that was performed and received a response that I owe the full amount or I will hear from his attorney. This past week I have indeed received a letter from an attorney demanding the full amount or a court case will be filed. I am now left with light bulbs hanging from wires in almost every room (fixtures never put up), wires hang out of walls, ceilings, kitchen cabinets (unknown which are live), boxes set to far into walls and ceilings, exposed wiring not covered by metal conduit, porch light fixture removed now have a wasp problem in the bathroom above requiring an exterminator, live wires hanging out of junction boxes in areas which could easily cause injury or fire. I would be happy to submit photos as well as email correspondence if needed." I want to make it very clear that my mother was intimidated to silence and has nothing to do with my reviews on any site - I am disappointed, disgusted and frustrated with the justice system in our county that left a strong, independent woman feeling powerless and defeated. My mother purchased a new house in hopes of making a new home for my sister and me. After reading her complaint above - the end result (2 years later) is a settlement leaving my mother $25,000 in debt. Not only did this company and it's associate put our lives at risk leaving exposed live wires all over the house (failing inspection as well, not one thing they had done was up-to-code when they packed up and left the house) but they also left her in crippling debt. My mother had an impeccable credit score that has now been severely damaged by this company as they left her to pick up the pieces in a house that she once had big dreams for but now comes home feeling defeated each and every day to an unfinished house. I want to reiterate finally that the project was initially quoted (and budgeted) at $5,000 and costed her $25,000 total in the end. There are more pictures than those that I have provided, however, Angie's List only allows up to 10.

    Hundt Architecture
We have a phenomenal experience with Ryan every time, as do our clients. His attention to detail, experience, ability to preserve the style of the home, punctuality and pleasant demeanor are simply a few of the reasons he is our go to architect.

    David & Goliath Builders Inc
Overall did not go well and are still dealing with the poor quality of the build. Be sure to fully research your builder prior to making a choice. Also be sure to question what the standard inclusions actually are and do not make comparisons based on what is listed on a website. We felt less quality materials were used in order to maximize their profits. Despite notifying them of issues, little was done to remediate them even when sharing pictures and videos. Our "upgrade" hardwood floors have a defect (identified by two independent flooring professionals) which has caused them to crack and split throughout the home, improper drainage has cause water to seep into the basement damaging drywall, cracking in stone work and the use of extremely low quality drafty windows just to name a few and are still issues. Good luck with your future build and choose your builder wisely.

    Dowty's Home Improvements Inc
From start to finish, Ron was fantastic! He worked diligently and accurately (he is a perfectionist) to keep everything in our project running as smoothly as possible. Our beautiful home was built in 7 months from groundbreaking to move in! This seemed very fast to me, and we expected it to take much longer, especially not having any experience in construction. Other members of my family have used Ron for room additions and remodels and been very pleased. Another nice thing is how clean Ron is! He cleans his are of work during and at the end of the day so you aren't left with the "contractor mess" that most leave behind. If you want precision, or perfection on your addition, room/basement addition or finishing, or any general construction work done, strongly consider Dowty's Home Improvement. You will get what you pay for!

    ASPEN HOMES INC
Our home is on schedule to be completed on time. We have been very impressed with how responsive Aspen has been to our questions and concerns. They really work with us to build a home that is perfect for our family. And they take pride in the quality of work they do, unlike some of the larger builders who seem to mass produce houses without any quality checks and balances.

    JAMES CRAIG BUILDERS
We met with the Susan Kentkowski initially. She reviewed the services provided, pictures of existing homes, benefits of working with them and awards that the company has received. We also met with 4 other builders. We liked the small size of the company and our personalities meshed well with all of the staff that we met. Everyone was professional and courteous. We met with Craig Rakowski, the president, several times. He personally inspected the lots that we were considering and helped us choose the one that we purchased. We spent several hours modifying the floor plan. We spend several hours making exterior selections. We spent many, many hours making individual supplier selections. This was the hardest part for us. The suppliers were typically very far from where we lived. In one case, the flooring supplier was so expensive that we were able to afford only the cheapest selections from their stock. We ended up asking our builder to refer us to another supplier. That supplier had many more selections that we were able to afford. We received frequent updates and several walk-throughs with our expediter, Dave Montguire. The work was done very much according to schedule. There were absolutely no problems during the entire building process that were disclosed to us nor that we could find. At occupancy, nearly the entire staff joined us in the house for champagne and hors d'oevres. The work was top notch. After occupancy, a professional painter gave us an estimate on interior paint. He was surprised at the tightness of all of the wood trim around the windows and doors. This is typical of people's responses when they closely inspect the house. Now having occupied the house for 3 months, our punch list of things to fix or incomplete work is 3. All are minor: a light sensor in one bathroom burned out, a wood panel was not placed in the kitchen and Tot-Loks on our entertainment center were misaligned. That is much lower than we expected or could have even imagined. We have not even brought up the first one and the latter 2 have already been fixed. We love our James Craig home!

    YAEGER TUROW BUILDERS
THE EXPEDITER WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND INEFFECTIVE. HE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE SUB-CONTRACTORS AND AS A RESULT, THE JOB WAS NOT COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE TILE SUBCONTRACTOR DID NOT FINISH UNTIL FIVE MONTHS AFTER WE MOVED IN. THE PAINTING SUBCONTRACTOR DID INFERIOR WORK. THE DRYWALL SUBCONTRACTOR DID A TERRIBLE JOB IN OUR GREAT ROOM. THE FINISH CARPENTER DID NOT DO GOOD QUALITY WORK BUT IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS PUSHED TO FINISH. THE INFORMATION ON THEIR WEBSITE IS STALE INFORMATION AS TO THEIR RANKING IN MILWAUKEE MAGAZINE AS THE RANKING IS SIX YEARS OLD.
