The old rock was just ugly. There was basically no landscape to the front of the house, it was just kind of a square. We hired another company to drop blue prints for design, because no-one does that. We brought the blue prints to Noah and he reshaped the front beds, put in some edging and hauled the old, ugly rock that we didn't like and then put in some new rock. Noah pretty much just came in and did some manual labor for us. He didn't do any design for us and he didn't do any planting. I just said this is what we need done and he came and he did job. He maybe do more than that, but for us that's all we needed him to do. He is very knowledgeable and really nice. He is a local. He is going to our church, so he is just somebody we knew we could call. He cleaned up his messes. Once he started he was here every day until it was done. I will absolutely use him again.

I don't recall them offering to cut up the wood for firewood. They were careful. I just have a pretty neutral feeling about them. I don't think they were incredible, but I don't think they did a horrible job either. They came and they did what we asked them. They didn't go completely above and beyond. There weren't any options, we just needed it out of here there. There were no real discussions. They just came in and cut it up and took it out. They were very clean. I felt like we got a good value. It seemed to me that when I called they were here the next day to look at it and then two days later to clear it out.

The trees were on their last legs and when we called A Cut Above, Ron Gay came right over to survey the situation.  He talked over with us in detail, what he was going to do.  He gave us an estimate on how long he thought it would take and the price.  When I mentioned my concern about wasting all this beautiful hardwood maple, Ron offered to take as much of the trunk as he could save, to a mill just outside of town, where they'd cut the wood into planks we could use in the future for flooring. We also asked him if he could trim a few branches off our walnut tree while he was here, which he agreed to do.  He set the job up for that following week and came on the day he said he would. They started by trimming the upper portion of the trees, which took 6 hours on the first day.  He completed the job the following day, including trimming the walnut tree, hauling the wood to the mill and cleaning up our yard.  An additional 5 hours.  At $175 an hour plus $40 to transport the wood, the job cost us $1965.00.  He will be returning later to grind out the stumps, which he has to rent a larger grinder to be able to remove tree stumps of our size and he likes to have multiple stumps to do to minimize the cost to everyone who needs the work done.  We have previously used A Cut Above for other tree trimming, landscaping work and had them build a gravel pad for our camper.  All their work has been excellent and they have always been very honest, pleasant and professional to deal with.  I highly recommend them!

Herman Landscape is the best! This is the second time we have used them for a landscaping/paver job and the experience was all good. Drew came down promptly, gave us the design and quote promptly and within 2 weeks we had our driveway and walkway done! It is so beautiful, we have people stopping all the time to look at it. The crew was always prompt and professional. In both jobs, the crew did some additional landscaping which was not included in the bid but which added greatly to the overall look (and was not charged extra for it). I cannot recomment them highly enough.

He was very honest with us about the price and the situation about how far he had to come to do the work. We tried to negotiate with him by telling him to just cut the trees down and we would take care of the rest, but that did not lower his price at all. We decided not to go with him because he was not in the area and it was going to be way too expensive to use him. He even told us to try to find a company that was closer.

Had a little trouble getting fit into their schedule, but once they started the work went very quickly. The system was up and running within several hours. I wasn't happy with the type of coverage we were getting in the flower beds so they replaced 8 of the heads for a "nominal" charge of $100.
