    Help-U-Pack-N-Move
This company tied with another one for getting the job. Both ranked really high in our research. The ratings are based on my initial contact with the company and during the interview and estimate process. I would HIGHLY recommend you give this company a chance to bid. I was impressed with Matt's approach and comments regarding the job. He was pleasant, encouraging and positive. I could only hire one company and Matt made the decision a really tough one. If there is another move in the near future, this time this company will get the nod.

    Good Stuff Moving
Overall, it went fairly well - after the dust settled. Price: Good Stuff was within dollars of any of the other bids we requested. They weren't at first, but on their own initiative, they dropped the cost which brought them in line. Quality: Overall, good. We had 3 movers and, for the most part, they moved right along. There were some glitches but most of them could be attributed to the lousy weather (sooooo much snow !!!) *See below for the downside and the reason not rated excellent. Responsiveness: Excellent. Any questions were answered quickly - both before and after service. Professionalism: I liked the professionalism of Matt who came out to bid the move. He noted what was to be moved and was good about answering questions. I also liked the 'professional' estimate that was emailed. *On the downside -- Quality: all started out well on the day of the move. But things got sloppy. (1) At the house to be vacated, floor coverings were put down. But only in the entry, hallway and bedroom section of the house. There were no coverings used in the living area nor on the lower level and, not only was snow tracked in from outside the garage but so also was the salt and sand from the street. ON TO HARDWOOD FLOORS. Worse, that stuff was tracked upstairs onto the cherry hardwood floors. We had to hire a cleaning service to get the house ready for a showing 2 days later. (2) There were some nicks on 2 of the bigger pieces of furniture. (3) Floor coverings were not put down on the hardwood floors at the new house. Thankfully no salt/sand issues. Professionalism: Overall, excellent. As indicated above, Matt was good to work with. And the lead fella on the 3-man crew was excellent as well. But there was 1 fella who more than once stated - purposely within ear shot - that they'd better get a BIG tip because some of the furniture was heavy. The 1st time it was irritating. After that it made us angry. The men were supposed to have equipment with them and I would wonder if that equipment might make moving easier. ***It should be noted that the company reimbursed some of the cost toward the cleaning service required at the 1st house (I had enclosed photos of the floors). I'm on the fence as to whether we would hire again. I think we would give them another chance - with maybe a discussion upfront.

Quality Moving & Storage Of Edina & Hudson
Both times we used Quality we were more than satisfied. The crew was on-time, friendly and hard-working. Since we were paying by the hour we were especially impressed by the fact that they were constantly working. The crew wrapped all our furniture thoroughly and everything arrived without any dents or scratches. Plus, their estimates were right on. We would highly recommend Quality Moving and Storage to anyone needing their services. Mark & Jayne Larson

Good: The packers and movers were prompt and efficient.

Bad: I hired them to pack only things that were difficult to pack as they are "professional packers".  The packing was very inconsistent - one packer carefully wrapped a plastic water bottle in paper, while another shoved all of my yard art into a box with shovels and garden tools and no protection.  As a result, a handmade glass wind chime was irreparably broken, a sandstone sun was broken, and metal pieces were bent out of shape and weakened.  a chandelier was irreparably broken.  hooks on a coat tree were snapped off.  screws for tables were lost.  Curtains were squished into a box so were terribly wrinkled (I could have done that myself!).  Despite assuring me that boxes would be clearly labeled, each box they packed was unhelpfully marked "garage" or with one word such as "statue" despite containing not only the statue but a hat box, tools, a water bottle, and other random items.

The only things that were broken in the move were items that they packed.  Everything I packed was fine.

When I contacted the company about the broken items, they sent me a letter highlighting the small print on the contract saying "the carrier's liability shall be the actual loss or damage not exceeding $0.60 per pound/per article."  They gave me a check for $30 which does cover anything.  They did not respond when I asked if I had any recourse.

I would never hire them to pack again.

I do not understand a company that does not take responsibility.

    SML - Simple Moving Labor

I specified the job on the phone that there were two pieces of furniture to be swapped from basement to upstairs and upstairs to basement. I stressed the desk was very heavy. Two women were sent for the job . I had to call in a neighbor to take off a door and the legs of the desk since they are provided no tools to work with (this was explained to me by phone but---if you are going to charge top dollar for moving two pieces of furniture I feel strongly that the right choice of people and equipment to make the move should be provided. Had my neighbor not been home to help, the move could not have taken place.

I want to stress that the movers were very pleasant, and did a good job. My high rating went to the two workers even though they were two females and the lower ratings went for the high costs and quality of the service in not allowing tools to workers for any type of move since you are a moving service.

I would consider using again but would ask for a lower rate than that which was charged. I was charged for two hours and it only took less than one hour.

    No Whoops Moving
I highly recommend No Whoops Moving! I moved from Washington State to Wisconsin. I had a moving company delivering my moving truck and was unsure what time they would arrive. The No Whoops Moving team was very flexible and worked with me through the entire process! On 'moving day', the team arrived on time and jumped right in. They were professional, courteous, and pleasant. They laughed and sang while working; they even stayed positive while working around my 4-year old daughter (who kept getting in the way). I can tell they are super professional and have done this a long time, just on how they communicate with each other while carrying in large furniture. They made sure to carefully go through doors and around corners so the walls and items were not scuffed. The team was extremely efficient and quick, taking only about 2 hours to unload the entire truck. I'll definitely use them again even for basic moving of large items around the house; and I'll continue to recommend them to everyone I know.

    No Whoops Moving
The guys were wonderful. I called to see if they would be able to help move the pieces of the ping pong table into my sister's basement. They were able to come by about an hour later and took care of the job right away. The team was personable and professional. (And Santa really appreciated their help in making this year's gift for the kids possible.)

    Gerber Moving & Storage Inc
The company arrived with fewer containers than they estimated to be use. During the the course of this hot day, even though we gave them a case of water, they started to argue amongst tehmselves and threatening to kill each other, we closed ourselves into a bedroom and prayed that our lives would not be in danger. After they threw stuff into an overly packed truck, stored and redelivered, most of our things were broken or damaged. No response from the company.

    ABF U Pack Moving Inc
It went very well overall. My only complaints were the new drivers in Sacramento who didn't know how the contracts were supposed to work. You are supposed to sign off on the total feet used before they leave, and the driver didn't know what I was talking about.

They were on time. They handle your furniture with care. They are very pleasant, nice, careful, diligent, and honest. They really care about their customers. The guys who do the moving do an excellent job. They have all the moving supplies with them so they keep all your items safe.
