    Took a month to get someone out to give a bid. We have several projects to do and by the time they arrived for the bid I could barely remember why they had come. The representative seemed to have one foot out the door the instant he arrived and seemed completely disinterested in being here. He offered no suggestions on any of the services they could provide and was about to drive off when I asked him for a bid on the gutters. He then somewhat reluctantly got out of his truck again, sloppily measured the house and came back with the usual sales pitch for an overpriced replacement of the gutter system (I have received other better quality and lower priced bids since). This was a complete waste of everyone's time.... This strikes me as an overrated company with too many projects to provide decent customer service and I would definitely not waste my time with them again.

    Representative explained everything, answered all my questions and concerns, was very friendly and professional. Work was 
    done maybe 2 weeks after initial contact. Installer was very friendly, did great work, cleaned everything up so well I wouldn't
    have known he was there. Gutters came with a lifetime warranty that could be transfered to new owners for a small fee. Representative I ordered from came back to check and see if I was satisfied. He also explained that is I ever had roofing done to 
    call and Asher would come and remove and reinstall gutters for $50 so that it would be done correctly and without damage to the 
    gutters or gutter helmets. He was wonderful and Ashers is a great company. I highly recommend them!!

    We ordered pre-painted/colored downspouts and they look awesome.�� In addition, because they were on an old building, they had twists and turns many newer spouts do not have.�� The installer Kevin did an awesome job working with all the angles, going back to the shop and fitting things so they were exactly correct.�� The only reason I gave them a "B" on price is because I wish they were cheaper, but I really don't have any issues with them.�� They did a great job.

    My wife and I had a great experience. From the time Blue Hills Roofing came to the house for the consultation to the time they drove away after completing the roof and gutters everyone from the company was professional. Unlike other companies, Steve explained in great detail the purpose of every aspect of the roofing process (was important because my wife really needed to understand the value of what we were going to spend). Knowing the "Why" we needed what we needed was important to us and Steve was very informative. Lastly, professionalism was displayed through timeliness, follow through, and made sure we were happy every step of the way. Blue Hills Roofing was worth every penny. I would recommend this company to anyone.

    I called to get an estimate on how much it would cost to repair a leaking gutter.  The gentleman I spoke with said someone would be out within the next couple of days to take a look at it and call us back with an approximate cost to fix it.  I asked if I or my husband needed to be there to meet the person who was coming out to look at the gutter- nope- fine. 

    A few days later, a message was left on our phone by the gentleman who came out to our house.  In the message he said he "fixed" the gutter and would be sending us a bill.  Obviously, we were a little stunned.  What happened to the estimate I requested?   So, naturally, I called the next day and spoke with the gentleman I initially spoke with, who told me that if the technician estimates that the required work won't be "that much," that it's their practice to just go ahead and do the work.  Not ok. 

    Another issue was that the gutter wasn't fixed.  It still leaks in the same spot.  When I informed the gentleman of this, he said that he'll send someone out again, but that we first needed to pay the bill for the initial "work" that was done.  He did apologize for not advising me of their "practice" during our initial conversation when I brought that up, but also said that he couldn't assure me that we wouldn't receive a second bill for the second visit. What?

    I asked to speak with the manager or owner, thinking I'd get somewhere that way.  At that point I really just wanted to forget about everything.  I figured that it would be a wash- nothing was fixed, so we don't pay for anything, and I call a different company to do the work- everyone goes on their merry way. 

    Unfortunately, talking to the owner was the worst experience with a business owner, or any company, for that matter, I've ever had in my life.

    He was rude, condescending, and didn't believe a word I said.  He would not believe for a second that I wasn't informed of their practice to perform the work instead of provide estimates if the job "wasn't that much money".  What does that even mean anyway?  Is $300 not that much?  Is $400?  I think the homeowner should decide that one...

    Finally, after I was sufficiently belittled and chastised by the owner, I gave in and paid the bill.  I just wanted to be done with this company and this awful person.  Maybe that's their tactic... 

    They sent another technician out to our house, while we were home (who turned out to be great, because my husband went to high school with him), and our gutter is now fixed, well, mostly. 

    Please, PLEASE look into other roofing companies- there are others out there.  This was my first call, and I'm sorry that I ever made it..  It's not worth the hassle; it truly, truly isn't.  This owner has sued people over $50.  Do not put yourself in the position of being a victim of this owner.

      From the first meeting with Mark (the Asher representative) , we experienced nothing but professional, courteous service.They were able to get the work done sooner than expected.  The installers were efficient and did a good job.  All old gutters were taken away and our house looks great.   And--more importantly-  no leaky gutters.

    I started looking at replacing my shingles late last year. I contacted one metal roof installer to an estimate on cost (not Ashers) in December and he came out and gave me an estimate that seemed very reasonable and much less than what I thought I would have to spend for a metal roof system. But due to other end of year activities did not do anything more with roofing project. Then this spring decided to get a couple more estimates both metal and asphalt shingles. Two of the metal roof installers I contacted and got estimates from were Ashers and Blue Hills roofing. Chad from Ashers went up into my attic to look things over from the inside to check out ventilation and overall condition of the inside of roof and check for possible surprises. He was the only one who did that of any of the roofing companies who gave me an estimate.  

     They were both pretty close to each other in cost but a lot higher than the initial estimate I recd from 1st company late last year. After investigating and talking with both of these roofing company people I learned as with most projects there is a quick way and a probably much better but more labor intensive way to get the job done, which to me explained the big price difference. My wife and I decided to go with Ashers because Chad did a great job of showing us what and how his company would do our roof. We met with him on a Sat AM at their showroom and he went through our project and answered all our questions patiently and knowledgeably. We also liked the better warranty that Gerard metal roof had and that we have also had prior experience with Ashers about 14 years before when they installed our rain gutters after an extensive remodel by R.Tews construction.

    After getting other estimate for conventional asphalt shingles we decided to go with Ashers and a metal roof so we don't need to ever have to go thru expense and hassle of doing this again while we live here. There was also the benefit of fire and hail and wind properties of metal vs asphalt that influenced our decision.

    Ashers called and set up a start time in early sept which was a bit earlier than we were initially told the project would start which was great with us. However due to weather delays the date was pushed back a week or so but we were contacted every day or so to keep us informed what was happening and why so we were OK with it.  

    The crew came out and started on a Monday and were back each day until done, which was the Wed of the following week. The crew each morning or evening that I was able to talk with them explained what they would be doing that day.  They cleaned up at the end each day, I was happy with progress each day. The crew was easy to talk to and knowledgeable and professional.

    We also decided to have the Gutter Helmet system installed so we don't need to go up and clean out the rain gutters any more. This took about 2 days but I did not meet with this crew due to my work schedual but again each evening when I got home everything was cleaned up and I am happy with the way it all looks.

    I gave a C grade on price as that was equated with "fair" which when I compared with estimate given by the other installer for similar work/expected quality of job they were about the same.   

    The project was done with no cost over-runs, in a very timely manner by a professional crew I would recommend Ashers to anyone thinking of getting a new  metal roof. It looks great and I can't wait for the next big rain to see how it all works.

    We received a number of bids from all the most well known companies in town. Blue Hills Roofing stood head and shoulders above all of them. Steven's knwoledge and professionalism was second to none. We learned so much about our project, we had no idea there was so much to this type of work. Steven the owner explained it in easy to understan terms. The work was done to a high standard of quality and all the workers seemed very good at their jobs. They cooperated well and really seemed to enjoy their work. The clean up was great...our yard was cleaner when they left than before they started. They were always availible and very accomidating to any questions or concerns we had. By far the most professional and knowledgable company we delt with in any of our past and present endeavors. If you are doing exterior remoldeling especially roofing you are really missing the boat if you don't call these guys. Thank you.

    We decided to get three bids for our project. Our house is about 35 years old and the windows needed replacement. We had the old Masonite siding that was starting to get soft and spongy in spots so we decided to get new siding as long as we were doing the windows. All three companies were very professional, timely and thorough. The cost varied quite a bit due to some of the materials each carried. Seamless steel was much more costly but did have some benefits. We knew pretty early in the process that we would probably pick Chwala's Construction. Bill Chwala, the owner visited with us and explained his products and services. He did the measuring and submitted his bid. While looking at the house and discussing the project, Bill suspected that something was wrong with the way our soffit access to the roof was insulated and explained how it should be done correctly. He also suggested that we look for our own entry Door and he would install it for a fee. The other bids included pricing for an entry door that was double what we ended up purchasing at Lyman Lumber. Bill suggested that we go with insert windows from Parco, a local manufacturer. We visited their facility and saw how the windows were made and met the workers. It was very educational. We decided to go with the inserts to keep the original wood trim and window casements. The windows are measured to fit the opening of the existing window casement.

    Bill was easy to contact during the process. He returned calls and kept us up to date as the materials arrived. He helped us by timing the ordering of the door to arrive when the siding and windows were ready. The project started very close to the tentative date Bill gave us early in the process. The two workers showed up on a Monday and worked daily until the projects was complete. We had a few follow up visits as we had to wait a few extra days for the gutters. And, we had the same two workers throughout the project. Dale and Steve were just as committed to our being satisfied with the finished product as Bill was. It amazed me how fast they worked and how they figured out how to make everything come together. They offered solutions and pointed out things that we might want to do now as the work was being performed. One such item was to install electric outlets on our deck. As Bill suspected, the sills under the soffit had never been insulated properly. They cut open all the soffit. Installed the air shoots and insulated with batting. Then they cut open the gables and blew in insulation. We went with a high grade vinyl siding. The product is much thicker and stiffer than some of the products I've seen in the past. Vinyl also offered us much more color options than steel. The windows from Parco are stained on the inside to match our original woodwork. You need to get close to them to notice that they are not one unit. They look and function beautifully.

    We have done enough projects to know that none go perfectly. You always run into issues. The difference is in how the problems are handled. The two concerns we had were handled quickly and without question to our satisfaction. Bill wanted us to be completely happy with the finished product, and we are. Not only would we recommend Chwala's construction, We would highly suggest them.
