  • This had to be the worst contractor I have ever dealt with in my entire life!!. Two words would describe Dama , TERRIBLE !! & OVERPRICED !!. The professionalism was terrible also . The technician came in our beautiful home with a hand cart that had grease on the wheels from there warehouse and as well as a box that the water heater was in that was full of grease !!. They dragged it in on top of our new carpet and got grease all over it . Terrible Mess!!. Then they left the home without wiring the water heater . Not to mention they left live energized wires in the basement that were never capped off and was a fire hazard waiting to happen . I had to have the unit wired as they were going to charge me separately as another cost . We stayed two days without water because of this irresponsible and careless contractor. I would never recommend them for anything again!’

  • The installation went very well and the gutters seem great. However, the estimate included 4 downspouts, due to the length of home. We only wanted two, so it depended on what the installers thought was needed. We paid in full for the gutters and 4 downspouts. Our first mistake. Installers were very professional and said we only needed 2 downspouts. This was great. However, we should have been reimbursed for two downspouts that we had already paid for. I have called close to 2 dozen times to speak with the owner about the ridiculous reimbursement check, so he could explain how he came up with the particular amount. He has not returned a single call. Always seems to be out of the office. So in other words, we have been ripped off by the owner of the company, of what I calculate to be at least $300!

  • I called Tim and told him I had a bone to pick and explained what other experts on my living space and volume versus air flow variables had told me, and that my water system depended on constant low velocity heat in the seam between the wall and the floor slab to avoid freezing a pipe.  I know because the remodel I am doing is just that - a freeze situation caused by last winter's slab level penetration of sub-zero temperatures and not enough air flow in the lowest level to prevent freezing.  A modulating furnace would give better protection.  He went into a rant about having an opinon on the modulationg furnace type be a 'Cadillac' of furnaces that people pay too much for just because, as he said and I quote now "it has a few more bells and whistles'.

    I am a professional quality engineer - and having experienced this many times, could only say the standard issue reply that when HE wants something and is given the wrong food, part, or other experience - then how does it feel?    

    Time replied that he did not want to get between me and my associates - but the truth that he does not see is that he already did that.  And now, is in denial.

  • Made temp repair, ordered new part, installed same when part came in-this during the xmas-new years holidays. The part was $130 and the labor was $80.End of story-the owner/plumber was timely and the labor rate was very fair.

  • The service was fine. It turned out good. The man who came out did everything that he was supposed to do and then he talked about how bad my existing system was because it was old. He wanted me to buy a new one but he was never really pushing that. He sure made me realize that my reverse osmosis system is old and needs to be replaced. But he did his work and everything is working fine so I am fine with it. I just did not really like what he told me about every single component of my existing system. He told me, "This is going to break. This is old. This is going to wear out. This is this. This is that." That was his way of telling me that I need a brand new system and I should buy it from him but that is typical. They come out, get in the house and then they try to sell you something. I bought the deal when I was in Wisconsin and I did not get back here until the end of October. I called him after I got here and he set an appointment rather quickly so that was good. I think that the price was fine but I really never compared to see how much something like that would cost me. He was also right on time when he came.

  • Dama showed up the same day, at the promised time. The problem was diagnosed and a replacement part was ordered. Service was cut off to the outside faucet. The ordered part arrived as promised and was install that day. As always, the job site was left neat and clean and the bill was reasonable

  • 1. Carpet stretching very satisfactory, no damage to baseboards or walls and all wrinkling gone

    2. Installers of heated subfloor draped metal-shielded power wire over a night light. The weight of the power wire unplugged the night light , badly scorching the metal shielding and tripping our circuit breaker. This all occurred after the installers left. These men are supposed professionals who should know better than to create such a dangerous condition

    After-the-sale response LOUSY. We had programming problems with the heated floor control. Repeated calls to Floors By Design resulted in our being repeatedly told that the company was too busy with new customers to have the time to service existing customers. This is a very short sighted way to do business and a shabby way to treat customers. They could have even answered our questions over the phone!

    3. The bedroom carpet installation is high quality with no problems whatsoever.

  • His last name is Johnson and he is in the roofing business. They put the new roof on next door and then they put mine on. They were recommended to me by the person next door who had them there. I was very happy with them. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves, hauling everything away and following up on any problems that I thought I may still have. They were a little bit more reasonable than anybody else and did a very great job. I felt that they were very upfront about everything. They gave me a quote and they stuck to their quote.

  • I don't know enough about them to say that I recommend them. I just had them for that one short visit. They fixed what was wrong, it was only a loose connection and nothing had to be replaced. They did the best for what I called them to do. The person who came to fix the leak was very nice. He even apologized for having to charge me that much for such a small service but that's fair on the whole. They had a minimum amount just to come out, which they charged me. That gentleman did not have anything to say about that. I understood that they don't come out for less than that. I did not feel good for having to pay $75 for that service. I would probably try to find someone else in the area so that I don't have to use them.

  • Our experience with the bathroom heated floor insgtalled by Floors By Design was less than satisfactory for the following two reasons:

    1.  The installers carelessly draped the thermostat metal-shielded lead over a partially plugged in night lightl  This burned through the metal shielding in four places, scorched the outlet plate mounting screws, and tripped the power for our bathroom electrical outlets.  This condition was left for us to discover.

    2.  When we found it impossible to program the thermostat to turn on the floor heating in both AM and PM we repeatedly contacted Floors By Design - both at the office and by direct phone call to the installer.  While we waited four weeks to get assistance in the programming we were given continuing excuses that Floors By Design was too busy installing new jobs to service existing customers.  After considerable experimenting with the thermostat programming we discovered for ourselves that the instructions neglected to mantion that the AM plus PM setting could not be made in the "home" mode.  The programming which took us four weeks of experimenting could have been accomplished in a few minutes by Floors By Design personnel.

    I truly regret that our opinion of Floors By Design is considerably lowered by such abysmal after-the-sale service.
