They got delayed at a job they were working on, but called to ask if it was OK to come about an hour later than originally scheduled. Called again to let us know when they were on their way & would be here in 10 minutes. Replacement did not take long. Staff/workers were professional & polite.

My water heater was not working, the tube from the top blower to the tank was broke, I needed confirmation this was all that was wrong.  Instead of replacing the tube myself (hindsight as I should have) I called Landmark.  I use Landmark when I can as I have a great friend who works there and I try to give him the business.  I called to make an appt, they scheduled it for two days later with my friend, stating he will be there between 12 to 2 pm.  They asked if I wanted a call prior to being there I said yes call 30 min prior as I work 15 miles away.  Today was the date, I received a call at 1:50 pm at work stating my friend was sick and the repairman is there at my house can I come.  I replied I will be there in 20 min, they stated he will wait (I then cancelled a meeting with my boss, sigh from him.)  When I got home he was no where to be found, so I sat in my driveway called their office got a voicemail I left a message, he rolled up 5 min later at 2:15 pm.  John came out, said hello - did not apologize for the inconvenience.  As we were walking into my home I advised him the pilot light is out and this hose was broke at the blower.  We walked into my utility room, took one look at it and said that was my problem period.  Diagnostic analysis 10 seconds.  He replaced the 4" hose, started the invoice.  Here's where it went down hill - I noticed two things off on his invoice: time of arrival was 1:45 pm (wrong 2:15 pm) the second was the price.  The first line was quantity one part $15.00....thinking to myself not bad as this took no more than 15 min from arrival to out the door... my error when I advised I'll go get my check book, I left and came back.  The bill magically changed to $65.00!!  He put a loop on the one of the 15 or changed the invoice and added $50.  I said what happened to the $15, he tried to explain this is the least he can charge (what?!).  As I've done my homework, wasn't born yesterday plus read all the reviews on Angie's List prior to scheduling this appt that was wrong.  I paid the money but felt like I was swindled.  He was a nice guy let me tell you but still feel like I was taken advantaged of.  If my equipment goes on the fritz again, I will still try to give business to my friend but if he's not available then I might have to look elsewhere.

I thought Dan was great,  very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and great work ethic.  Other then entertaining a few of my questions Dan quietly went about his business.  I could tell he cared about his work because he noticed this super tiny pinhead like drop that had formed on one of the new valves.  Dan was not satisfied with that so he replaced it and did not charge me the extra time to replace it.  Naturally, I hope I don't have the need for a plumber to come out a lot, but if I did, he would definitely be the first guy I called.

    Action Plumbing Heating ,and Electric
Action Heating staff knew exactly what I needed when I placed the call to replace the water heater fan,  but arrived to repair the fan "without" a new fan and had to go back to the shop to get one.  The "meter continued to tick" and labor was being charged to me for the entire time the tech arrived at my home, left to get the fan at the shop, and drove back to my house.  Totally unacceptable. Then the tech took it upon himself to decide to change the vent pipe leading from the heater to outside....our home was only 6 yrs old and it was inspected at the time of construction / completion so the venting pipe was sufficient. and up to code. More labor and equipment / supplies were added to the invoice.  Total bill came to over $900 for a fan replacement.  I stopped my credit card pmt and Action was willing to negotiate a reduced price.  It was a very unpleasant experience and I will never have them back in my house again. Their advertisement of no travel is bogus.....they hide the cost in unnecessary labor and supplies.

    Action Plumbing Heating ,and Electric
I called Action Plumbing to get an estimate on a new water heater and water softener. Andy, who gave me a quote, was very nice and not at all patronizing. In talking to me more, Andy thought that we may not need a new water softener; that maybe we just need it reset. I scheduled the appointment for a new water heater for 8:30 am. Pat called me at 8:15 am and said that he would be there in 15 minutes and he was. He entered our home with booties over his work boots. After he installed the water heater, he explained how he installed it and that he checked for gas leaks. He said that he double checks for gas leaks and takes this very seriously since the unfortunate incident in Sun Prairie. He also checked the hardness of our water and said that we didn't need a new water softener. Pat was very nice, he didn't seem rushed, and he answered all my questions. He explained in detail how he installed the water heater and showed me the components of our new water heater.
