  • I noticed my tire was almost flat as I left work in downtown Madison. I googled for tires and got numerous hits. I wanted some place close and that was this shop. When I called I asked about getting a new set of tires since that is what my regular service shop had been recommending. Well they didn't have any tires in stock so I wanted find out whether they could fix the flat seeing it was aleady 4:30. They said sure. When I got there they were very professional and while I waited for the repair I talked to Tom and he basically told me the best type of tire to get based on the type of driving I did. It turned out they were the least expensive ones. He then had someone check the thread on my tires and they said it was going down but he thought I could wait until fall to get new ones. I think I just found my new auto mechanic!

  • First time using this shop. Went in to ask about noise coming from engine on my Mercedes and Dave nailed the problem right away- bad water pump. Unfortunately he said the shop would be closed for the next week so he could take a vacation, and he had a full week already booked when he returned. I made an appointment 3 weeks out, but got a call 2 days after he returned from vacation to say they could and quot;fit me inand quot; the next day. The job was done before 3 PM the following day, for the exact amount estimated. The labor cost was less than I would expect to be at a dealer, but Dave is a top German car mechanic. The price he charged for the water pump was about the same as I would have paid if I had bought it at a parts house. Great service from a very knowledgeable mechanic. Will definitely go back any time I need major repairs.

  • I have taken my cars to Havill Auto in Jefferson for several years now and am still amazed at their level of professionalism and service!
    I had an unexpected situation on the way to work one day as a car traveling in front of me lost their transmission fluid, spraying the front of my car and windshield. I called Havill to see if they could check my vehicle to be sure it wasn't MY car with the problem of losing the fluid...they made time right away to thoroughly check my car, clean it, and run it through their car wash. After about 40 minutes, I had expected to pay a service fee and the cost of the car wash. I was told I owed NOTHING and was wished and quot;Happy
    Holidaysand quot; by Jeff, one of the service managers. WOW! I am still shocked at their generosity! But, I really shouldn't be, as I have been a happy customer for about 16 years now!

  • I arrived at 12:20 pm and registered with the service person. I waited for two hours and finally contacted one of the service representatives about where my Yukon was. I was informed it had just been finished and was being brought around. I still ended up waiting another 10 minutes before the car was actually done. I finally left at 2:18pm!!

    I am at a loss of how it would take 2 hours for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I usually change the oil on this vehicle and can do it in about 40 minutes, without a lift! That includes cleaning everything up too! I was given no explanation as to why it took so long when I asked either.

    I have two more free oil changes left and will be using a different provider. I will need new brakes and, it looks like, a new front driver's side hub. I will not be going to Zimbrick for this work. I can even get 15% off with my Costco membership. Who knows how long it will take for them to complete something complicated like that.

  • What a nightmare. Steering wheel was fixed right away. I had to make a follow up appointment for a week later due to the fact the car was not lugging now. They would need to order a new seat track also. I returned a week later and found there was no seat track ordered. During this visit the tech determined the lugging was caused by a defective EGR valve. I Was going to leave the car behind to get the EGR fixed but found they did not have a loaner available. I had requested one during my initial visit but had not remembered, nor was I asked, for the follow up. (I figured the person doing the appointments would be able to figure out if I needed one the first appointment and nothing was fixed, I would need one for the second one.) I request they contact me when the seat track comes in and I will get the work done all at once. I don't hear from them for 2 weeks. It took me three additional calls, two of which were not returned, to finally get an appointment, with a loaner.

  • Not much to say. We take all our cars there for service. They have been great over the 5 years we have been using them. They do not try to sell you anything you don't need. In the past they have even checked an engine light that went on in a Saturn and reset it. They said there was nothing wrong with the car and the sensor just needed to be reset. No charge for it either!

  • I have been using them for oil changes and other repairs, and I just feel like he is trustworthy, and gives good advise. He can fix something that is beyond fixing. I use them all the time.
