    BATH AND KITCHEN SPECIALISTS, INC
The design and remodeling completely satisfied my expectations. The design phase went quickly with all the details covered. All the selections were made during the decorate part. Saved me from going to multiple stores. Workmanship is top notch with value associated with the outlay.

Bath and Kitchen Specialists did a wonderful job on both my bathroom and kitchen projects. The bathroom project was a total replacement of everything, including enlarging the shower, rerouting the plumbing, and some clever repositioning of some cabinetry. In the kitchen and dinette, they replaced the 1970s fluorescent lights with modern recessed lighting. I was attracted to B&K by their very tightly managed process from start to finish. By investing time up front to prepare properly, you are rewarded at the end by a job thats completed with impressive speed, without interruption, and on time. The first phone call was a 15-minute interview about my wishes for the project. This was followed by a visit to my home for several hours by Mark, to discuss my wishes and possible alternatives and to make exact measurements. A detailed proposal was developed at the office, which Mark brought to me several weeks later, containing line items for each proposed element with options for quality and corresponding cost. Upon accepting the proposal, a full day Decorate session was scheduled at B&Ks office to decide on every possible detail of materials, fixtures, colors (even of the grout and caulk), woods, heights (of the shower head, soap shelves, towel racks, toilet paper holder ). The lead designer Dawn visited my home a few days before the Decorate session to confirm measurements and discuss further ideas. The Decorate day itself was a full day of work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, guided by Dawn and Debi, and including a working lunch hosted by Gordon. I had not expected that so many decisions were involved in a bathroom, but there certainly are. A whole day is needed. Upon agreeing to the plan and the detailed budget, I looked forward to the day my job could begin. A special feature of B&K is that they work on only one job at a time so that they are fully dedicated to you until your job is done. Although this means waiting your turn to start, once your job begins, it goes quickly and without interruption. For the duration of my job, Dan and Mark parked their truck in my driveway, set up shop in my garage, arranged for electricians, and handled all the permitting and inspections. There was a lot of value in their managing all those details without my having to be present. B&Ks very thorough up-front preparation and documentation, and your patience in waiting your turn, definitely pay off at the end. I would do it again.

they arrived promptly on the date and at the time set, and started without any delays. during the process they asked questions about details of the project and how we wanted it done. many of the questions were ones we would never have thought to ask, very appreciated to say the least. the questions we did have they answered quickly and courteously. although costly, like any contracted job can be, we were very pleased with the quality and attention to detail they exhibited. this is a small company that tends to concentrate on one remodel at a time, therefore affording the attention to detail that is required for these kind of jobs. definitely worth taking the time discuss your remodel with. if you decide to go with them, they will spend a whole day just laying out the details of the job. this includes a free lunch, pretty nice of them.

Kristie visited my house and had immediate recommendations on the kitchen and living room. She suggested some easy changes to make now while I save for the bigger remodel later. In the bathroom, she also made some recommendations, and I decided to move forward with putting design on paper. She was very knowledgeable about the remodeling process, and made suggestions on how to choose fixtures, vanity and tiles. Ultimately she drew up two different options for the closet/potential shower in order to show contractors. She also 2gave me good insight on how to move the project forward.

Kristie knew her strengths and when a referral was appropriate.  She has an outgoing personality and was fun to work with.  She recognized the looks I was going for and how it fit with the existing furniture and hard surfaces.
She was right on with color recommendations for kitchen and carpet.  Provided solid insight for what surfaces to be safer/neutral (eg countertops/cabinets) and what's easier to change (paint).
She measured for maximum island size given the kitchen layout.
She is not a window treatment expert, so gave me a referral to a local company that she feels is fairly priced.
She consulted on color and style of carpet, and was willing to go to a nearby carpet store for samples of what might work.  ho she has used.
She was easy to contact (website/email/vmail) and we also had several following communications.

I needed to paint my kitchen and update my great room and I hired Kristie to help with color and decorating suggestions.  I have a type of tile in my kitchen which makes color choices difficult.  She was able to help me choose paint colors that worked well and complimented each other.  She also made suggestions for updating the decor in my great room.  Her input was very helpful and practical. I used her suggestions and my rooms look great.

    Go 2 Girl
Kristen and Terry were prompt in their return call, their estimate for work and their beginning of the work.  These women do a very professional job.  They scraped, caulked and primed the wood outside, cleaning everything up when they were done.
They moved the furniture inside, used their drop cloths, and primed all the walls, then applying two coats of quality paint.  They removed any hardware and face plates in the rooms, caulking where necessary and doing little repairs beforehand.  These women helped us choose appropriate colors for our home, never pressuring us but always giving us the final say.  They never hurried our decisions.  They were very accommodating about what days/times they would be coming.    In the middle of the project we found there were a couple days we couldn't have them working, and there was absolutely no problem with that.  When they finished the work, everything was moved back into place, clear down to books on the shelves and pictures on the walls.  They washed the face plates before they screwed them back into place.  They just do everything.
The quality of their painting is excellent, most of it all done free-hand without having to use painter's tape.  Their rates were very reasonable, even matching another quote I had received from someone else, who was initially a little lower.
The most important part in my mind is these women were a joy to have around.  I trusted them completely in my home.  We felt entirely comfortable leaving the house when they were there.  They both have wonderful personalities and take pride in their work, and actually enjoy what they are doing, and it shows.  We felt like they were family before they were finished with the work.  We would most definitely hire them again.  We are so glad to have found them!
I am also hiring them to do some other work and feel sure we will be just as pleased.

I have never used an interior designer so I was not sure what to expect. Also, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted her to do. So, I probably was not the easiest customer. Kristie, was awesome. She worked with me on figuring out what I needed from her and we went from there. I needed someone to help me remodel/decorate my family room. I has some areas that we had no ideas on how to make them better. We stood in the room and went around and she gave me ideas on everything. She was great. I am planning on meeting with her again after I pick out some foundation pieces ie. flooring, couch, to help me with paint colors and accessories. All in all, it was a great experience. I would recomend her (already have to a friend of mine) highly. I appreciated her flexibility and her ideas for our space.

    Brillo Home Improvements Inc
I really liked their service. They tried really hard to please us. The people working were in the home for a month or more. They were easy to get along with. They were professional and very thoughtful of our needs. They replaced the counter tops
with granite in all of the rooms. We were really happy with it. We even bought a couple of appliances from places they recommended and we were happy with it. They did painting and tile work throughout the home. They gutted the master bath and made a new dual headed shower for my husband. He loves it. They tiled the shower and made a bench out of granite to match the counter top. They also tiled the shower and floor. In the guest room they installed a new shower head and cut a hole in the linen closet to do the work. They then installed an access board and painted the linen closet wall without us even asking. Their work was exceptional. In the powder room they also tiled the floor. They also turned three folding doors that were not hanging right into solid doors. We even used them for suggestions with our interior decorating. A lady helped us pick out everything. We picked out almost everything she suggested except for one color on a wall. At the beginning of the process, I told them I really wanted to make this as easy as possible and requested for an interior decorator. She really made the process a lot easier and we did not have to get involved. I was really happy with it.

    Mary Best Designs
Mary Best is an absolute delight to work with. In addition, she has wonderful ideas and a great eye for color. After her initial tour of our home, I asked if she would like to take a sample of the bathroom tile with her to refer to the color. She informed me, no, not necessary, she would recall the shade. Now, that is a gift.

In addition to selecting wonderful fabrics for our furniture, she sewed beautiful pillows for our sofa and chairs.

The upholsterer, the wallpaper hanger, the window treatment specialists she referred were highly professional and skilled in their respective trades. Though we live on the opposite side of town, she was frequently present to oversee the work......yet, I feel we often were not charged for this extra time. We are thrilled with the finished product. Our confidence and trust in her is such that when were out of town for an extended period, we had no problem with having Mary in our home to supervise the various vendors as they went about their business.

Now that the sun room and great room are complete, we look forward to working with Mary on the master bedroom. I may have to keep finding projects for her as we are going to miss her smiling face and sunny disposition.
