Door Installation reviews in Brookfield

    Allis-Awnings, Windows Doors & More!
I had two patio doors replaced. They were custom doors to meet the condo association's requirements. Allis was terrific, from selecting the doors to professional installation. The doors are great and the price was competitive. The doors were delivered and installed in the time promised. The cleanup was very thorough. They did a great job. Highly recommend and would use without hesitation.

The lead time for the custom windows and installation was ~4 months, we weren't in a hurry. Upon installation, a worker found one window had a crack on the internal pane. The team followed through with the install because it did not effect the performance of the window, only cosmetic really. A new window was ordered and installed 3 weeks later. At that install it was found that a seal was not properly assembled and another new window had to be ordered. Three weeks later again a good window was finally installed. Even though this was a pain to deal with, I cannot blame Weather Tight for their manufacturers poor audit check. Weather Tight was very easy to work with and stood by that only a quality product would stand on their watch.

    HomeTowne Windows and Doors Inc
We had some difficulty verifying the appointment time, but they arrived within the appointment interval and worked very professionally room by room through the first day; did a reasonable clean-up before leaving. Completed the job the following day (except for the storm door). The exterior of the new windows should have been cleaned more thoroughly; otherwise their clean-up was good. Their supplier put the wrong storm door in the package, so it took an additional five or six weeks before the proper door was installed. The workers were always courteous and willing to answer questions. Their process was very noisy, but efficient. Would definitely recommend this service provider.

Todd was always punctual and cleaned up. However the actual installation did not turn out well. On the front entry door with sidelights, the old door frame was set down into the concrete. After pulling the frame out, the new door was installed over the holes which were not filled and on top of bits of broken concrete. He recommended us getting liquid concrete to fill the holes after installation, however it was impossible to fully fill with the door already installed. He used caulk to take care of air leaks and drafts, which has already sagged, and we've tried adding additional caulk to fill the gaps. The new door is much draftier than the 50 +yo door it replaced. For the storm doors, furring strips were not used around the trim to fit the storm doors properly, rather 2-4 screws were inserted at an angle to hold the trim in place across the gap. I am in the process of trying someone to reinstall the doors so they are installed properly and not so drafty.

    Exterior Pros
The salesman employed tried to hyper-inflate the price of the door we had chosen. He claimed it was an $8500 door but a simple online search showed the door to be typically priced around $3000. After he started arguing we were forced to ask he leave our house.

Quoting: Original quoting was done ~9 months before actual work due to other priorities coming up on my end. Were very patient and were never pushy. Jeff came out for the quoting process and always took his time to listen to what we wanted followed by what our options were. I do wish they were a little more open about the itemization pricing, but this was not Jeff's fault. Replacement: All employees were extremely respectful and were very diligent in their work. When time was getting late, they did not hesitate to call for back-up to make sure the work was done on time! Service: After installation, we noticed that there were two small cracks in one of the large bay windows. Weather Tight service was called in the morning and a new custom window order was put in process. A tracker email was sent to us every Sunday to ensure we knew where they were in the process. The replacement window took about 45 minutes to replace and upon installation the employee saw a scratch on the middle pane and said he would have a new one ordered. I didn't have to make any calls and a new window was installed again with zero effort on my part. Overall a very good experience and I have to complement the craftsmanship on the trim put up around the windows and door! Excellent work, you get what you pay for.

From day one John and his crew were great to work with. My husband and I were unsure as to what our options were for a remodel. We were offered suggestions and tips from several of the crew that really helped us pull the project together. We have a dog and one of my biggest concerns was the workers - the dog and not being at home while all the work was happening. They were great with our pet!!! I knew it was a major project that would affect and displace my kids from their bedrooms - 13 weeks went quickly.. I am amazed as to what our new upstairs looks like. We now have a functional bathroom for 5 - with a lot of space and room to move and grow. The bedrooms that were affected mesh well with the original pattern of the house and have large closets - which we needed. The crew is very friendly and even though construction is never clean they make the process manageable by cleaning up nightly after themselves...

    Weather-Tek Windows & Doors
Our experience with Weather-Tek was so-so. The company sends an earnest, persuasive salesperson who firms up the deal. That's the last contact we had.The installation itself was adequate but not outstanding considering the price we paid. There were a couple of issues we wanted taken care of, but 2 weeks later we still haven't had any follow-up from the company. We did not have actual Weather-Tek employees, but rather were sent sub-contractors. We would have liked to have been informed of this ahead of time or given a choice as to who would do the work.

We had a great experience meeting with Sam for a quote on windows and doors. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. He did an excellent job of educating us about the product, presenting our options, and answering our questions. We particularly appreciated his straight-forward, no-pressure approach. The process was comfortable and we felt confident in our decision to sign the contract.

Lisbon Storm Screen & Door Inc
Picked up the window when they called to let me know the job was done. When I brought it home and looked at it, I noted long gashes that looked like cuts on all of the flat surfaces of the window frame. The entire frame needed to be sanded, stained and varnished again. (The sanding took a while because the gashes were so deep.) I called them immediately to let them know of my dissatisfaction with what I was seeing. In the course of the conversation the "manager" explained to me that most of the clients who use this service are landlords who don't care if the frames get banged up, and that they try to identify people who care about how their windows look and place cardboard around their windows. Unacceptable approach to doing business. Very unprofessional handling. Refused offer for repeat experience free of charge. Will take future business elsewhere.
