Cabinet Making reviews in Brookfield

    BATH AND KITCHEN SPECIALISTS, INC
Bath and Kitchen Specialists did a wonderful job on both my bathroom and kitchen projects. The bathroom project was a total replacement of everything, including enlarging the shower, rerouting the plumbing, and some clever repositioning of some cabinetry. In the kitchen and dinette, they replaced the 1970s fluorescent lights with modern recessed lighting. I was attracted to B&K by their very tightly managed process from start to finish. By investing time up front to prepare properly, you are rewarded at the end by a job thats completed with impressive speed, without interruption, and on time. The first phone call was a 15-minute interview about my wishes for the project. This was followed by a visit to my home for several hours by Mark, to discuss my wishes and possible alternatives and to make exact measurements. A detailed proposal was developed at the office, which Mark brought to me several weeks later, containing line items for each proposed element with options for quality and corresponding cost. Upon accepting the proposal, a full day Decorate session was scheduled at B&Ks office to decide on every possible detail of materials, fixtures, colors (even of the grout and caulk), woods, heights (of the shower head, soap shelves, towel racks, toilet paper holder ). The lead designer Dawn visited my home a few days before the Decorate session to confirm measurements and discuss further ideas. The Decorate day itself was a full day of work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, guided by Dawn and Debi, and including a working lunch hosted by Gordon. I had not expected that so many decisions were involved in a bathroom, but there certainly are. A whole day is needed. Upon agreeing to the plan and the detailed budget, I looked forward to the day my job could begin. A special feature of B&K is that they work on only one job at a time so that they are fully dedicated to you until your job is done. Although this means waiting your turn to start, once your job begins, it goes quickly and without interruption. For the duration of my job, Dan and Mark parked their truck in my driveway, set up shop in my garage, arranged for electricians, and handled all the permitting and inspections. There was a lot of value in their managing all those details without my having to be present. B&Ks very thorough up-front preparation and documentation, and your patience in waiting your turn, definitely pay off at the end. I would do it again.

they arrived promptly on the date and at the time set, and started without any delays. during the process they asked questions about details of the project and how we wanted it done. many of the questions were ones we would never have thought to ask, very appreciated to say the least. the questions we did have they answered quickly and courteously. although costly, like any contracted job can be, we were very pleased with the quality and attention to detail they exhibited. this is a small company that tends to concentrate on one remodel at a time, therefore affording the attention to detail that is required for these kind of jobs. definitely worth taking the time discuss your remodel with. if you decide to go with them, they will spend a whole day just laying out the details of the job. this includes a free lunch, pretty nice of them.

Wow. I am surprised to see some of these other reviews. We were really happy with the work they did. Laree sold us from the start. She was very easy to work with and had a great eye. We loved how she had her vision all laid out for us in our second meeting. Her staff was very professional and if something didn't go the way we envisioned, Laree made sure it was fixed to our liking. I felt like she made every effort to make sure we were happy. I will point out that we were not under any deadline so we were very prepared to just go with the flow when it came to any time table. There were some delays (some are just out of anyone's control) but nothing egregious. I would use them again and recommend them. We were very happy with the way things went. Oh.. and another important point, we also did not feel nickle and dimmed. In other words, not every little hic up cost us extra. I appreciated that.

When I embarked on this project, I had high expectations for my contractor's professionalism, value, subcontractors, finish work, and more. Roger met them. Like many, I've dreamed of redesigning a kitchen and home for many years and took the opportunity very seriously and with some nerves. I'm a detail-oriented person, had a tight timetable, and have been underwhelmed by contractors in the past.
From the moment Roger first walked into my house to the day of final touch-ups, he was 100% invested in my remodeling project and my satisfaction as a customer. Initially, I loved his enthusiasm for playing with design ideas and commitment to working within my tight time frame. As the project went on, I was pleased to see that, despite a variety of subs and a couple of small unexpected things to come up, Roger took calm, steadfast responsibility for the work and pride in the final product. He even helped me out when, in the 11th hour, I realized I couldn't complete a couple projects that I had taken on myself. I can't thank him enough for helping me to create the dream home that now brings so much joy to my family. I look forward to hiring Roger again.

    Kehlnhofer Custom Cabinets

Poor workmanship, even worse customer service. You're better off going with Ikea -a t least they stand behind their work & guarantees. This guy installed nearly $20,000 worth of cabinets in our kitchen. He by far was not the cheapest bid we got, but was a pretty smooth talker so I trusted him.  Within 9 months, the finish starting falling off, joints starting separating, crown molding falling away from the ceiling. He ignored us after he got his money and did not honor his 1 year guarantee.  Our cabinets are still falling apart.

I had 3 other industry professionals come to give a second opinion, I even had the paint manufacturer come to my home to do a paint sonogram, and they confirmed the finish wasn't applied correctly.  It would cost up to $8,000 for our repairs!!  Brian wouldn't stand behind his work to repair the finish or the splitting joints and falling crown.  He's supposed to have a 1 year workmanship.  Once he has his money, good luck getting resolution to any of your problems.

As a widow, I must admit that the whole idea of making this commitment made me very nervous, but I am so glad that I made the decision to follow through with the remodeling job.  I was very happy with the design that Roger finally came up with and work that he did.  He spent a lot of time walking through the whole process with me.  I chose Roger for several reasons, first, he listened to what I had to say, second, he gave me suggestions when he thought that I might like something else that I had not thought of and was very willing to admit that I had some good ideas of which he had not thought about, and third, his prices were not far from what I was expecting to pay.  His price quote was very detailed, listing demo work, rebuilding work, lighting, tile, flooring, cabinets, etc.
Roger was always available for updates, questions or suggestions either by phone or email.  His price quote was right on the money.  His expectations of himself and the guys who work for him are set high.  Speaking of which, he hires some great guys, such as, Brian the plumber, Josh the tile guy, and the J's as I call them, John, Jason, I must admit I forget the name of the third J.  I did not learn the names of some of the other guys that were working on the job, such as the flooring guy or the electrician, but they were just as good as the ones that I did name.  I moved in with my daughter during the remodeling process so the guys came and went as they needed.  They were careful of the items that were not involved in the remodel job and they cleaned up after themselves, as best they could, at the end of each day.
The job took a little longer than I had expected because of some custom items that I wanted and the crown moulding he installed had to match the rest of the trim in the house, which needed to be custom made.
Overall I am very happy with Roger and would recommend him, as I have already to a friend.  I am very happy with the remodel work.  My almost 30 year old kitchen is new and updated and I think magazine quality.

    Classic Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning
Crew arrived on time and worked from level to level. Carpets cleaned using hot water extraction. Small stains were completely removed. Carpets looked fresh and nearly new. Tile floors were washed and indivdual grout lines were sealed with roll on sealer. One stain reimerged in the basement after the crew left. They returned the next day and treated the stain, removing it completely. Heavy furniture that we did not want moved was put on foam blocks. Other items were moved as needed. The crew even moved bookcases and other furniture back into place when they came back to treat the stain in the basement. All in all, this was an exceptional cleaning experience.

What more can you say other than Steve can do it all.  Kitchen was taken down to the studs and rebuilt with Steve replacing the drywall, installing the new cabinets and range hood.  Family room had cabinets And beams removed with a new mantel installed (custom built by Steve).  Two walls were removed to develop the open concept.  Subcontractors (plumbing and electrical) he hired were just as professional as he demonstrated.  He was always willing to listen and then suggest ways to accomplish changes.  I have found the contractor for all of my construction needs.  Roger

I did not care for them at all. I left them and decided I was not going to work with them anymore. I worked with one of their designers and I just did not care to work with her.  I should have known at the first appointment, when she turned up on the wrong day. She was not very detailed and I did not want to work for her.  She kept misspelling my name. I did not like the way she worked. She was not careful with her details. That is not the type of person I want to do my business with. Two years later, I have still not done my kitchen. The price was reasonable for doing the kitchen. She kept leaving out costs and was not careful about things like that. Her estimations were lower then they should be, I wanted to know the price of everything upfront.
