I received two emails prior to the appointment. Jeff called the night before to confirm again. ARacy's LLCIt went better than expected. Our home was built in 1956 and the fixtures had never been replaced and we thought it was going to be a tremendous expense and a lot of work but it was apparent Ray Helms is awesome at what he does and choosing him was the best choice. Ray was extremely professional and courteous. Because I wasn't exactly sure what to replace the ceiling fixtures with, Ray accompanied me to the store and was patient and knowledgeable as I was looking through every fixture and deciding on what worked within my budget and also provided the look I wanted for my older kitchen. There were three ceiling light fixtures and three separate light switches and once Ray had a plan he went to work. The wiring was old and had to be replaced and instead of increasing the cost beyond what I could pay went to his truck and grabbed his own material and charged just a little bit more for the labor. He worked fast and was extremely polite and worked clean. The end result was beautiful. He replaced old square fixtures with beautiful round ones and you couldn't even tell they were different. My house is old with so much character and I don't entrust just anyone to work in it but not only would I use Racy's again and again but I will recommend Racy's, Ray Helms, to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy, hardworking, repairman. ASHALLOW POCKETS HOME REPAIRGreg is quick and efficient and charges very reasonably. (He just saved me a huge bundle over a large chain that wanted to eat me for lunch!!) He's very personable as well. Easy to speak to and ask questions about future needs. I have already asked him to come back at a date we will set in the future to take care of some other maintenance and repair needs to my home. To date Greg has repaired my front door, put security doors on both the front and back doors of my house, plus repaired and re-installed my dishwasher that had been installed incorrectly the first time.- Gerd P.

AMr McHandyMr. McHandy was very cheerful and personable, yet professional. My seven month old grandson is starting to pull himself up, so I wanted Mr. McHandy to attach two bookcases to the wall. I also asked him to put up a plant hanger. When he arrived, I told him I had a couple extra things for him to do, if he had the time. He said that would be fine (it didn't faze him a bit that I sprang a couple more tasks on him). Earlier in the day, I had tried to assemble a high chair, but found I'm not strong enough to do it. I asked Mr. McHandy if he'd tackle it for me. He sat right down on my living room floor and commenced to assemble it! It was great. He made himself at home and helped me out. Then I asked him to change a light bulb for me, because I have nine foot ceilings and I'm short and have a difficult time reaching when I'm on a ladder. Not a problem for him!- Priscilla R.

FFirst - the contact information is not for Tom Long. It is another young man who said Tom was not doing this any more but he could not get Angie's list to change or remove that name. Anyway, this young man was here 2 weeks ago to look at the job. I called him to see if he was going to do it or not and he said he was. A week later he called to say he had been sick and I have not heard from him since. I would like to find someone else.
