AArchitectural Concrete IncorporatedHe was prompt and was in and out in one day. Very nice and professional. He had his son and girlfriend there to help him as it was kind of a hot day. No problems so far, but then again it was just poured, I guess we'll see in the long run if it chips or cracks. As far as the initial job it was done well. **Update** March 25 2014 Still holding up good! No complaints. As a matter of fact I'm going to call him today for some more work.- Justin P.

AArchitectural Concrete IncorporatedI talked to Him last May. We had contacted him and he came out and looked at it. On April 16th., we emailed him back that we wanted him to do the work, then had an email from him saying "Now is fine but it was going to be out of talk for a few weeks and it got back to us. We had the again after 3 weeks. When he got back to us and he said that he's sorry that he has to pass on the project because he decided to pursue a career as a professional poker player. He had really good reviews on Angie's list. He was a really nice guy and we were really impressed. He did respond to email or to get telephone call right away- Janet L.

AElliott & Son ConstructionTook about a week, the patio was large and had to be broken up. Had trouble with the machine they were using broke down and spilled oil onto a small area of the grass. Otherwise it went well. Patio and sidewalks look nice. Clean up could have been just a little better. Would use again. Everyone was very pleasant to work with.- Janet L.

AJohnson Concrete Construction Inc.This was the best home improvement project I have had. Leon made the experience of removing an old driveway and pouring a new one completely stress free. As I said above, we had a one day delay due to the possibility of rain. Leon wouldn't take a chance on the concrete surface being affected by the rain. The results are excellent. Many times in the past, when I have had appointments with contractors, they would not show up or call to tell you they were not going to make the appointment. I have had difficulty during projects with contacting the contractor- they wouldn't get back to me. Also, getting the project completed in a timely manner has been a problem. None of these problems occurred with Johnson Concrete. Leon was in constant contact with me, reporting on how the pour was going and what I could expect. Johnson Concrete Construction has my highest recommendation.- Marcia L.

AGill Concrete & Masonry DesignWe called Mr. Gill for an estimate and were pleased with both the estimate and the ideas he had for our sidewalk. It was not the easiest area due to grade problems around house. He recommended a small retaining wall to prevent water from running towards house. He had some difficulty fitting us in between other jobs and weather issues but when they did get to us, it went fast. They were very professional. One day they came and leveled areas and set forms for pouring concrete. Next day they were here and began pouring. They took every precaution to not damage our existing lawn and road. They covered the concrete to protect against cold. Mr. Gill came by and checked on it the next few days and then his crew arrived to remove all covers and finish cleanup. The results were wonderful. I waited to write this review so I could better tell you how the sidewalk has weathered the winter. It was an exceptionally cold winter. The melting snow never pooled against house but ran off towards lawn. Shovel snow was easy. Rain just washes away and does not pool either. It was sloped perfectly. Mr. Gill also came back later and checked on the pour to see that is was ok. Now it is April and the sidewalk is beautiful. It has added to the comfort of getting around our yard and is going to be a great asset to our home's value. We now have an 8' wide sidewalk that will allow us to move around easily and to barbeque, etc. I would highly recommend Mr. Gill and his crew and would use them again in any future jobs we might have.- Tod H.

APatterson MasonryWe found Patterson Masonry in the Yellow Pages, and their ad said they did residential, commercial, brick, block, stone, and retaining walls. My husband called and talked to Jody Patterson, who made an appointment for later that day to come give us a free estimate of the repair work on our deteriorating chimney. Jody was working on another project in an area 90 miles away at that time, but said he would come by in the early afternoon to give us an estimate. The project he was on took longer than expected, and Jody called us twice to let us know that he was going to be delayed. We appreciated his keeping us in the loop as to when to expect him. He had another larger job coming right up, but since ours was small he was able to work us in by arriving at 7 AM the next day. He arrived promptly, with his brother Joel and a helper. They had the necessary equipment on a flat-bed trailer, including scaffolding (they were careful not to damage our metal roof). By appeance, they did a excellent job, and it didn't take them very long to complete it. When they were finished, they took broom and dustpan and cleaned up their mess. Way to go, guys!!! We had already received another estimate, and Jody Patterson's matched it, so we knew his price was reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend him or hire him again for another project. Though he lives just south of Yakima, he does work all over Eastern Washington.- Lynn A.

AWilliam Betts ConstructionHe came out to give us an estimate for our driveway. Even though he forgot a section of the driveway in the estimate he stuck with the original estimate. The work was wonderful.- Robert M.

AGreat. Noah was very responsive to our needs and did not spend all of his time doing I am the contractor and you are the mere homeowner and probably are stupid. He understood what I wanted and why I wanted something the way I did. Had a great crew that got our job done when they said they would and did a fantastic clean up.

FKent was hired by my next door neighbors(both in their mid-80's) to replace a concrete retaining wall last summer. Prior to the job starting, Kent met with me with someone he introduced as his contracted landscaper. Since our property was downhill from the neighbors, Kent wanted to use our property to remove and replace the wall. He told me the heavy equipment he would have to use would tear up our lawn but that the landscaper would re-sod it. Eight of our stone flower boxes had to be removed to do the job-Kent also was to have his landscaper restore them as well. The demolition and removal of the old wall by crew #1 went fairly well. One of our 12 foot arborvitae did not survive; not sure if that was from crew #1 or #2. Crew #2 was responsible for building the new block wall. The wall was constructed crooked and the locking flange on many blocks was 2 to 3 inches from proper position to lock the blocks together. A good portion of the wall had to be taken down and the blocks placed in proper position. The wall was still crooked, but at least it was locked in place. The wall is supposed to be back filled with gravel-I'm not sure it ever was. But I did see a large amount of garbage (water bottles, the plastic wrap tying all the blocks on the pallets, etc) that probably does not help with drainage. In order to get the blocks back to the job site, a forklift was used. This chipped and broke the front of my driveway where it meets with the street. I wanted to talk to Kent about the damage to my property, but he had planned a 2 week vacation to the Caribbean. The crew boss called Kent on his phone and Kent then informed me that he did NOT have a landscaper but he would still take care of the lawn replacement. I found out that his planned repair of the lawn was to have one of his workers spray grass seed on the previous lawn without any preparation of the site, which was now my old, established lawn that was tore up by the heavy machinery covered with several inches of clay soil. When I told him that was not acceptable, he responded that his contract for this job was not with me but was with my neighbors. I refused to accept the hydroseeding. He did cut the driveway edge straight for me and replaced it with asphalt. Crew #1 was polite, efficient, and left the site clean. Crew #2 was also polite but other than the crew boss, seemed to be inexperienced and made multiple mistakes. Two of my large impact sprinklers were left covered with a foot of soil, an 8 foot section of pipe and a riser and sprinkler was cut off and left laying next to the wall without capping the pipe off-it was later reattached by the neighbor's son. Our house water hose was used by them without permission and the hose was left out strewn across the job site. The neighbors driveway was asphalted with a gutter placed next to the wall. There was a gap between the gutter and the asphalt driveway so water has been draining underneath the gutter rather than into it. So now the asphalt is all collapsing and will soon make the driveway unusable. Now there will need to be additional construction to repair that issue along the approximately 100 foot driveway. Sorry I'm not savvy enough with my phone to be able to attach any of my photos to this review. The neighbor's have been trying to resolve the issues with Kent but to no avail-he has taken payment ($55,000.00!) from them so he is done. And of course he is done with me as well. Never again will I allow anyone to 'use' and destroy my property to make a profit without a separate contract of my own. I would not recommend this business to anyone, ever.

FIt has taken me two years to write this because I just didn’t know what to think of the whole ordeal. I’m finally ready to share so no one makes the same mistake that I did. I own a roughly 920 sq ft home in Covington with a one car garage. I ran across this company at Enumclaw Wine Walk in 2015 or so and expressed interest n siding or roofing as both were really needed on my home. They called for over a year before I finally agreed to have them out to look at the siding. When the salesman arrived, he mentioned the roof needed repair more than the siding. I agreed as he wasn’t wrong. He pressed and pressed me to go in my house, sit down and look at options for a roof. He was a bit smarmy and kind of made me nervous, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have him give me an estimate. Once inside, he continued to press and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I’m a single female and had him over at a time where my neighbors weren’t home. I felt a bit trapped in my own house. This man saw an opportunity to make a sale and he pressed until it happened. I became emotional and called a couple of friends for advice. When I gave the quote amount to one he advised me not to sign this contract. It was way too much. My dad; however, was very concerned that my house stay in good order so he advised me to just sign and assured me he would help with the financial impact. I’m a teacher in the local community and while the cost of a roof isn’t exactly easy for anyone, it was especially impactful on my salary at he time. The salesman quoted me roughly $13,900 for the roof on my tiny house. As Tim passed, I was so uncomfortable that I finally just signed the contract to get him out of my house. I knew I had three days to back out and planned to do so, but my roof ended up leaking and I needed someone to call for help. Rainier it was. I will give them credit for being responsive in that way. This salesperson knew I was nervous about who would be over to do the work and when. He promised he would watch out for me the whole way. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from my neighbor while I was at work telling me the roofers has ascended, in all sorts of unmarked, personal vehicles. One thing I had asked explicitly is if they’d be showing up on schedule in company vehicles, I was assured they would. Nope. They didn’t even give notice when they came. The company did feel bad enough about this scheduling snafu that they sent a small Visa gift card for the trouble. Now, two years later, the quality of the roof is fine, some soft spots still, but it certainly is no better than any of my neighbors’ roofs. It should have cost no more than $8,000 at the very most. I was set up with their financing at Salal Credit Union on a 10 year payoff and have made absolutely no progress towards chipping away at the principal. I finally moved the loan to BECU and will pay it off within a couple years. How did I get myself into this? I don’t know. I should have gotten multiple offers. I should have been stronger with the salesman. I should have stood up for myself. I didn’t. And the sad thing is the company saw that as an opportunity to capitalize on a sale. Where are the ethics? How many people do they do this to? How do they look at themselves in the mirror? (Probably the mirror of a sports car my teacher salary is paying for.) Ya, they put a decent roof on, but almost every other aspect of what they told me was a lie to close the deal....at nearly double the price I should have paid. Please, if you’re still reading, use my experience as a cautionary tale. Be prepared for what you are doing, have support, if you are young or a first time owner...don’t do this alone. And definitely do not use this company without having done a ton of research first!!!
