    SlabJack Geotechnical
This company gave us a bid of $1500 to even up some sidewalks (photos included). When the worker came to the site he declared that the bid was too low and he wouldn't do the work. We asked if we could compromise on a price since they were already on site. No one returned our request that day. The company, after several contacts, sent a new bid of $2300 and excluded one of the slabs. When we asked for a counter offer we were sent a notice that they would not do the work for us and to never contact them again. In our opinion this company is extemely unprofessional.

We couldn't be more pleased. We knew the job would be expensive, but it came in less than he estimated.   The crew was courteous, professional and extremely competent, completing the job in just a few days.  Can't recommend them highly enough!

Driver drove over my lawn leaving deep grooves in my lawn. When I went in and paid the bill, I asked to speak to someone concerning my lawn and was told that the owner would call me. 10 days  went by and I called and asked to speak to the owner again was told he would call me. He called and came out to see the damage to the lawn. He was very unprofessional saying that it was my husbands fault, that he had told the driver to park there. Not true. He kept saying it is our policy that we don't park on lawns, yet his driver parked on mine. He acted like I should have just fixed it and not complained. He was irritated and argumentative, kind of like I was wasting his time. This is the owner of this company. I was told he would send someone out to fill in the grooves. He said they would call and let me know when they would be here. So at 7:20 this morning, a truck pulls up to my house, without warning, waking us all up, to fix the yard. Ugh. Very unprofessional company. I would never do any type of business with them again.

    Padilla Construction
Padilla Construction is my general contractor doing my basement.  They have been working for me over the past six months.  His guys put in an entry block for me.  It's been installed for months through the winter and it's great.  And he is now doing the basement remodel.  I feel like I can trust him with integrity completely.  His work is good.  I think his charges are reasonable.

    Brawn Construction
This first paragraph is what I posted on Facebook at the end of August 2012
"I have some very negative stuff to say about this contractor "Brawn Construction" here in Yakima. I gave him $1000.00
up front to remodel my pantry. Nick Brawn , the owner started April  27th and now it is the end of August 2012 and so far he has.....maybe been here 4 times doing work. So far all that has been done is he knocked out the old walls of the pantry in the garage and has ONLY put up a stud wall frame...nothing else!!  He avoids my  text message s and avoids answering my phone calls and rarely  answers my voice mail messages. BRAWN CONSTRUCTION has proven to be VERY UNRELIABLE AND
Well after posting the above statement on Facebook about the end of August 2012...he called me and asked me to remove my post, because he would come and do work???well after 1 week, he came and did the insulation and then he came again the first of October and put up sheet rock and did a very shoddy job?..and since then NOTHING. And today?s date is November 8,
2012. My patience is worn out. I now plan to hire someone else to finish this job, thru Angies List
I have begged and pleaded for months, I even tried to appeal to his sense of honor and decency, but nothing. I tried very hard to
give him plenty of opportunity to complete this small job, but I am done with him. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS ...IN A SMALL TOWN, like Yakima. I have just filed with the BBB , so we'll see, but I 'd rather he did not finish...God knows what kind of work he'll do.
The pathetic thing was.... I had a membership with Angies List when I hired this guy, but I obviously was not smart enough to use it. Live and learn :(
From now on I am DEFINITELY using Angies List.

Be careful when getting a bid from John. He will give you a bid that looks attractive but then neglect to add some common tasks of a remodel. He never puts in trim work. We had a couple walls removed and had one of the walls being supported with a massive wood beam he said was necessary. We thought it might be nice to have the exposed wood. However the way he left it was very unsightly. The only way to make it work he said was the way they did it and to trim it out. However since they don't do trim work he left our kitchen looking completely awful. Giant gaps from the sheet rock to the wood. The other wall that was removed has started to shift and causing cracking. I don't even want to call to see if they will fix it. Will probably have someone else do the repairs.
The bathroom portion was similar. He was removing a closet that shared a wall with the bathroom so we could have a larger bathroom. After putting up the new sheet rock and taping and mudding he only textured the half of the bathroom they worked on even though we discussed doing the entire room to make it look uniform. He finally did the rest of the room but not without a confrontation.
Overall he does the least amount as possible. Would definitely not use him again.

    DH West Coast Construction LLC
We originally call Darrell in to give us a bid on a couple of rooms in our basement (additions) and while he was here we had a shower problem with tile and plumbing leaking. He was absolutely ready to get started right away. We did the tear out of the existing shower walls and Darrell and Heather were here the next morning ready to work. The bathroom was done very quickly and very nicely.

After the bathroom was done, we had them give us a quote on the rooms downstairs. we have worked closely with them and the bathroom addition in the basement is almost complete. We are very excited about this job done before the holidays and there is no doubt that it will be done in the next few days.

    Hire them with confidence.
