    Amanda's Cleaners
Disappointed, as a few slacks now have missing button after cleaning - too non-confrontational to go back. Also, this is not an environmentally friendly method of drycleaning. Polite, friendly service, other than the buttons, good otherwise.

I had been going to Avondale Cleaners since they opened and was neutral about their quality and service until today.
About a week or so ago, I had picked up a batch of dress shirts from the cleaners.  This morning when I got out one of the cleaned shirts to wear, I noticed that there were tears in the elbow and all across the back of the shirt that were not there when the shirt was dropped off to be cleaned.  Now it is no longer wearable.  Thankfully this was not a brand new shirt (it was starting to show some wear on the collar) but it was far from not being wearable when I took it in to be cleaned.  When I took the shirt out of my closet this morning and saw its condition, I was very disappointed that the Cleaners had not made a note of the what happened to the shirt during the cleaning and pressing process and notified me when I picked up the shirt to begin with.  I had some more shirts to pick up and drop off today, so I took the damaged shirt with me.  Because the shirt was not a newer shirt, I was not expecting them to replace it, I just expected them to refund the cost of cleaning that one shirt since that had not notified me of the damage when I originally picked it up.  When I showed them the shirt and questioned them about it and why they had not notified me of the damage, they became very argumenative... arguing that the shirt was too old to be cleaned, became very rude and disrepectful, and were unwilling to deduct the $2 off my current cleaning bill.  I was flabbergasted to say the least and questioned them "are you really willing to lose a long time customer over the cost of cleaning one shirt"  the lady stood there and said nothing except to continue arguing that the shirt was too old...  Needless to say, I paid my bill, picked up my dirty shirts and walked out and will never step foot in the Avondal Dry Cleaners every again.

    Amanda's Cleaners
Excellent! We have been faithfully using Amanda's Cleaners in Woodinville for 3 years now. Every time I receive our clothes back from them, they look brand new! Everything is cleaned perfectly, pressed perfectly, no strings hanging, no loose buttons. If they have any issues they usually have a little sign hanging with your clothes and then explain to you what is going on, and sometimes they call you to discuss another option to approach in resolving the issue they are having with the fabric. Amanda's usually removes all of the stains from our garments, with the exception of any we have already set into the fabric. I can absolutely say with confidence that these guys are tops in their field. YES, you will have to pay a little more, but the quality you receive is excellent, consistent, and worth every penny. Remember, you get what you pay for. Go cheap if you like, but your clothes will pay for it eventually.
I can't even remember getting this type of service out of a dry cleaning company for so long. This should be the usual type of service to expect from your dry cleaner, but for the last decade or so, the several companies I had tried previously to Amanda's were very sloppy, some even bad tempered, and none of them had any sort of good customer service skills. This is really disappointing when we are bringing in our hard earned money to a service provider. We expect to be treated well or we will move on to their competitor. Anyone who has experienced numerous dry cleaners will know what I am referring to.
I remember going to a different cleaner in the Canyon Park Bothell area (next to QFC) some years ago to have a high-end designer gown cleaned. This gown had a lot of beads. Unfortunately, the cleaners totally screwed it up. I came into pick it up when it was supposed to be finished to find a complete disaster made of my designer gown. Apparently, some of the beads had not been sewn onto the gown, but instead were glued onto the gown (I guess some of the designers do this), and the cleaners didn't warn me about this when they accepted my gown to be cleaned. Not a word. Of course, when they cleaned my gown, many of the beads came out along with the glue, and my designer gown was ruined, never to be worn again! That was the last straw for me and I swore I would find the right cleaners who actually knew what they were doing, and how to operate their business and give great customer service. This particular company in Bothell just argued with me about this incident and refused to accept any responsibility. When I explained this disaster to Amanda's, they matter of factly assured me that they know all about these gowns and wedding dresses with beads (some with glue and some sewn), and they always discuss the options on how to proceed best with the customer before they accept the job. Hey, I'm fine with that. If the item can't be cleaned or faces imminent disaster, just please tell me so I can make the best decision for me! I am venting, aren't I! :-)
All in all, we are extremely happy with Amanda's, and will be a customer for life as long as we live in this area, and Amanda's continue to offer this excellent service.

We started going to her from a Val-pak coupon originally. They did a great job and were very nice and we have been going there every since. I use them regularly. They are friendly and professional. They have reasonable and competitive prices.
