    We had a smooth order and installation of shutters throughout our new home Thanks to Dale and Vicki! Read the reviews about other customers' experiences with them and decided to give them a try. We weren���t disappointed! Vicki clearly communicated the installation process and Dale was personable and highly skilled regarding the custom fit required in each window to ensure that the shutters looked and functioned as they should. The turn around for the shutters was earlier than expected! Dale was upfront about how long it would be from factory to home when we ordered, so the only surprise we had was a positive one when we had them installed sooner. Our overall experience, from the customer service to the final product in our home, gave us a lasting impression that The Blind Guy has built a company based on dependable results that we wouldn���t hesitate to use again.

    Divine Window Decor
    It went very well. She was very nice to deal with and we got our order in just regular time. It was not anything that she did, it was just that the color was a little different than what I thought it would be. I guess if they had bigger samples of what we were doing, it might have turned out a little bit different color.

    Only one hitch; the 2 windows in my bathroom should have been 'top down/bottom up' but they were only top to bottom.  He called the manufacturer (Hunter Douglas) and new blinds will be sent out early next week.  This was a manufacturer error so no additional fee will be charged. 
    Dale assured me that once they arrive, he'll return & switch the others out pronto.
    Extra Bonus:  Had 2 faux wood blinds in another room with pulls that no longer allowed opening/closing the slats.  Without charge, Dale took those apart and restrung them & now they function as designed.  Although we didn't purchase them (they came with the house) am grateful for his expertise and extra service.

    Oregon Blind & Window Cleaning

    Hooray!! Finally! Someone who cleans and repairs good shutters!  I have Norman shutters throughout my home and a couple very large windows as well.  3 louvers needed to be re-attached to the up/down rods, as well. 

    I searched and called for months- even left a "band of neighbors" message here on the list. No one would touch my request. I was so very frustrated; what's the deal? This isn't rocket science! It's fixing and cleaning shutters and I have the checkbook ready!! I had called in others for estimates- most of whom I found here on Angie's List. They passed me off to someone who they thought would take the work, but then didn't. Another contact asked me to unhinge the shutters and bring them in. (Are you kidding me?? These are over 8 feet in some places!!) Use a cleaning service for this? No- I suspect that's how those louvers were broken. Lots of shutters- most house cleaners won't do those.

    ***I am so happy Lewis from Oregon Blind took up my task!  He brought in additional help to clean while he repaired the louvers. They were finished in 3 1/2 hours.  Right on!!  The previous homeowner never cleaned the shutters. They still had "construction dust" on them that was not coming off with a simple dust or vacuum.  They went over each and every louver, hinge point, top and bottom frames and sides, front and back, by hand.  They also cleaned up my wood blinds in the laundry room for good measure. Awesome!!*** 

    The price was perfect, not cheap, however certainly not ridiculous (one estimate from elsewhere was over $1200- don't think so!). So, yes my experience with Oregon Blind was excellent: great work, very fair pricing (takes credit cards too), and a professional, positive demeanor. I'll be calling them again for my other window services soon! This review isn't phony- they really did do it right!

    I liked him as a person, and I trusted him. He seemed to be an honest person. There was even one time in September when I was gone, and I gave him the key and he came inside to work. The only thing I didn't really like is that he has a store and he has two jobs. So he only came over between some things for two or three hours. So it took much longer to get those things done because he didn't stay the full day. Sometimes I can get a better deal when the person stays at work all day. I think his price was a little more expensive than some others. The fact that he couldn't work the full day; I made three or four hours available for him. I wanted to be flexible for him because I did appreciate him helping me, but to me it was a little bit of a negative thing. I probably would use him again in the future.

    We called Budget Blinds in April and they came to measure and give us estimate. We agreed to purchase blinds/shades for just the top floor of our home, opting to do the bottom floor later as to not break the budget completely. The first order came in on time and the blinds were installed correctly. The second order was late, but no one from Budget Blinds called to tell us they wouldn't be here on time, after multiple calls and excuses they finally told us the material was back-ordered and after waiting longer they told us it was no longer available. So we went through the entire selection and purchase process again, and waited another 3 weeks. They did give us a price break on the new, more expensive blinds. When they were installed however, the installer was in a hurry and installed them all incorrectly and didn't pre-drill the holes in our window casings, so every window casing split. The blinds were mounted too far forward and so the blinds hit the pully and one of the most expensive blinds had a flaw in the material, so they agreed to replace it. We had to arrange to have a bid done for the repairs and then Budget Blinds had to approve. Once the repairs were done and it was time to have the blinds reinstalled, we coudn't get them to return our calls to schedule a service call. We finally had to get rude and ask them to prioritize us before any other customers since it had been 5 months and they already had our money. Last but not least, even though they told us they were installing a new blind to replace the one with the material defect, they actually had not replaced it and we found it installed in another window. We are done with this company and will not use them or recommend them to anyone.

    Vickie came out in person within a few days of calling and was very helpful in picking out blinds. She had good advice on colors, fabrics, styles, etc. It was very helpful to have someone in my home to see the 'bigger picture'. Her prices were competitive with other retailers as well. Installation was professionally done and the blinds look great!

    They have a subcontractor that actually does this work for them. They've done a really good job for us not only in providing the product, but also in design guidance and helping us with solutions. The cost was competitive to other people. There was more bang for the buck because the lady that assisted us, Linda, has also worked in interior decorating. She was able to help us with decorating as well. You get far more for the price you pay.
