    EcoBest Home Improvements
Total rip-off. After 2+ years, EcoBest has taken my $4200, but have not driven a single nail, nor delivered a single board. I have been schmoozed on at least four occasions by three representatives, but have gotten nothing but words.

My first review (posted a year ago) said I expected to have to take EcoBest to Small Claims Court....they threatened to deliver just the glass...I took down the review, if they would complete the job. That's when they asked for $1200 for drawings. I paid that, and did get drawings that were pretty generic. They needed to add a provision for ventilation, and to bring electric service through the wall for the ceiling fan.

Being over 70 years old, I feel I don't have the energy to commute to court nor to fight. Does Ecobest target the elderly?

Keep your money in your pocket, or EcoBest will put it into theirs.

    Custom Touch Contracting

I used CTC for updating my Kitchen. OConnell helped me redesign my kitchen island with a beautiful Brazilian granite showpiece for the center of my kitchen, with upgraded cabinetry to go underneath. We picked out a different color to contrast nicely with my existing cabinets that really didn't need replaced. We also updated all the backsplash, new quart counters all around, double ovens and oversized wine fridge. I also had them upgrade my bar area with new sink/facet, quarts, and glass tile.

Tony and Oconnell arrived on time everyday, and my dogs just loved them both. Everyday when I came home, my house was clean picked up and organized. They both were true professionals, that tolerated my changes, and concerns perfectly.

I have since used CTC on other projects since my kitchen. He did work on my outside kitchen area, upgraded my bar with mirror and custom glass shelving.

Everything that CTC touched in my home looks amazing and I truly couldn't be happier.

    J C Roofing
Jake, of J. C. Roofing, was a true professional. Showed up on time. Did an expert job and cleaned up every speck of debris. His price was quite reasonable and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would recommend him without hesitation.

    Manor Homes Washington, Inc
I had the following things wrong:
I had a list of issues that needed to be fixed, when it came time for the 1 year walk through no one showed up for our SCHEDULED appointment, when I called the company they told me everyone was out at a fishing event.  I was upset and they sent someone, who could not answer my questions about two conserns.
On the 1 year walk through I noted numerous issues and had to email and call to check up on scheduled apts.  They do not call you back and have excuses all the time.
When contractors were sent out to fix cracks, bubbles, nail pop outs.  When they were finished 2 month later, where the bubles were it sunk in to the drywall, when asked I was told it was over the 1 year and they were not liable anymore.
I had to take them to court to get money to fix an unusable driveway, tub they attempted to repair 3 times and a front railing that looked like a kid put up.
They are very unprofessional and do not honor thier promises to repair items, if they do it takes them forever and it is not done correctly.

    TCJ Enterprises
Last of the quality oriented and skilled contractors. If you care about quality, he's the best. He takes notes, reads instructions and takes his time to get it right the first time. He is always out on the job site monitoring and working with his subs/employees to make sure the job gets done well. Out of 100's of contractors I've worked with, he is one of the few that qualifies as a Fine home builder. His quality is better than I've seen on many multi-million dollar homes. On top of it all he is very personable and friendly and patient. Only thing I can ding him on is you have to hound him to get a bid and get going on a project as he is so busy all the time. That and he isn't as fast as some others but the quality takes a little more time and there a very few mistakes made. He has my highest recommendation.

    Merritt Custom Homes
A general contractor is only as good as his subs and Merritt Custom Home subs are mostly average to poor. The concrete guy stole rebar from us that they said they put in the slab (which we later proved a lie). Then they didn't slope the garage slab properly. It took them 8 attempts to get one end of the house wrapped correctly though the rest came out decent. Windows turned out OK. Cellar ceiling was a little sloppy but ok. Big problem was $50k foundation dig up and repair. When we pointed out deficiencies in his subs work, he stands up for his friends (the subs) instead of getting them to correct things. Also, he wouldn't honor his word or contract and tried to up charge us at the end with add-on expenses on top of a fixed bid contract. Recently, 2 years later, we had the footing drains he put in scoped and found a problem with his drains and/or waterproofing as we have moisture problems in the basement. He wouldn't return our calls or email until we sent him a certified letter. Then he just sent us a nastygram saying he is unwilling to do anything about it so we may have to dig up part of the foundation again. While a nice, funny, upbeat guy in person, I wouldn't recommend him if you are looking for quality honest work. We were very disappointed.

    Merritt Custom Homes
Justin Merritt worked with us from the very beginning, including getting detailed plans and engineering all the way to the final touches. Justin is very responsive and professional, and also has very responsible subcontractors who work with him, including his top-notch architectural designer, framer and electrician. He was willing to work with us to cut costs where appropriate, including doing some of the smaller jobs ourselves. If we had it to do all over again, we would definitely use Merritt Custom Homes.

Since the legal process is time consuming, and water damage to our home was ongoing, we chose to make the repairs, and continue our suit. After a year of legal bills, we went to arbitration and were awarded $65K from Seppala Homes and its subcontractors. for damage, but we were not reimbursed for our legal costs. I would never, never recommend this builder to any home purchaser.

Unfortunately, we have discovered numerous problems with the home, everything from poorly balanced HVAC, to an assessment of several thousand dollars that wasn't disclosed, to significant problems with our numerous picture windows. Generally, the builder cut corners and did the bare minimum. Though he is very personable and amiable, he doesn't follow through.

From start to finish it was horrible and still continues. They poured my neighbors foundation on my lot setting us back 7 months, built my home without a back door, allowed water to leak through a skylight opening that should have been protected from the weather, etc. The neighborhood was developed so poorly, most lots are so wet you cannot grow grass. They also promised us retaining walls in the backyard because my once flat lot, ended up being severely sloped. Plus I never got the retaining walls and had to shell out 25k to make my yard usable. Have waited as long as 9 months for warranty repairs. Possible class action lawsuit to ensue for depreciated value and drainage problems. Homeowners were lied to and told there would be limited investment properties and they sold the first 20 to investors, which are now in foreclosure. Buyer beware!! You get what you pay for with this builder!
