Went well except a small issue. Levi is a hard worker, very knowledgeable and willing to work within my budget, so I feel badly not giving him all A's, but the gate is not what I expected and told him from day 1. It had a broken vertical board, the hardware does not work because the gate continues to not be aligned properly, and now the top rail has split. He redrilled the latch hole in the post twice, but now I am finding myself (72 YO woman) drilling more and more into that post to be able to lock my gate due to some sagging or movement. I asked him to come out and he did once, to drill more into the post. When I texted and emailed him a few weeks later that the problem was not resolved (not to mention the split top rail and broken vertial slat from the initial installation), he has not replied in over 2 months. I even offered to pay him more to make a more sturdy frame around the gate or whatever it took to solve the problem. He told me he'd get back to me with drawings for my home owners association approval and dates when he could do the job. I was planning to pay him, now i will be hiring someone else. I texted him again later in April/early May with no response. This gate in in the front of my house and I need to lock it for security (dog) and for appearance (HOA). Copy of last correspondence: Re: Need to brainstorm the front gate You replied on Sat 4/6/2019 4:19 PM Levi Chase Sat 4/6/2019 4:13 PM Hi Kathy, Sorry to hear about the gate. Ill try to swing by sometime soon and take a look at it. Hopefully I can adjust it back into position. Ill put you on my calendar for Tuesday afternoon. Opening and closimg waz hard at first but now is impossible because the lever on the hardware won't clear the notch it rests on unless I pry it with a big screw driver. I think the hinge at the post moved/sagged just a hair. The stress caused the upper board to develol a crack. The problem is minor now, but could become worse. I hope you can take a look and makee a recommendation. Tx, Kathy Plamondon

    Cascade Fence and Deck
By the time we got our gate we had a joke that to "cascade" something was to commit and then not show up. Eventually, we got an apology for how horribly our job went, and I should have cancelled our agreement after the third or fourth time that they screwed up. In the end, I learned that I need to end contracts with unprofessional companies as soon as it becomes apparent that they aren't going to do a good job. I began by making an appointment to meet an installer at their showroom. When I showed up for the appointment, no one was there. I wandered around for a while before finding someone who said, with irritation, that they were all in a meeting now. So I waited. When the meeting was out, the person my "appointment" was with wasn't even in that day. When I asked if someone else could meet with me, there was a big sigh and a rolling of eyes, and ok, but it was clear they thought they were doing me a favor. The person who met with me was a "supervisor" but didn't know how to use the software to generate a quote. I sat down with them and we learned how to use the program together. I felt bad for them and how clearly over their heads they were. Again: I should have just walked out. I know this now. After agreeing to the quote, I arranged the first on-site appointment for the posts to be installed. I have a family member at home who is senile and mostly deaf - she gets very scared if anyone is at the house when I'm not there so I made a point of scheduling at a time that I knew I could take time off work and be home. I was home. They did not show. I called. I wrote. No response. I kept calling. I was told that the original appointment had been made at a time when they have their weekly meeting. Ok. Scheduled again. Made it clear that I was taking time off work to be there during the work window and how important it was that I was there. I got home an hour before they are scheduled to be there to find two people breaking up the concrete in my driveway and digging holes. They just started - with no confirmation from me on where to dig. My senile family member is so scared she's hiding in the closet. I was furious. I told them to leave. They said they couldn't leave until they finished. More angry calls from me. No apologies, just a "sometimes they just get there early" response. Again: I should have cancelled the whole job. But now my existing gate was gone and I needed a gate. And I'd paid half of the cost upfront. The whole job went on like this. It was absolutely awful. Whatever time they agreed to be there that was the ONE time we could be sure they would not be there. They might show up at another time (earlier or later), or they might not show at all. The quality of the gate is fine. It opens and closes. Eventually I got an apology from the "supervisor" but it was way too late and the work was over by then. I would never, ever, ever (!) hire them again.

It went better than I had hoped. They set 4 inch square metal posts, powder coated black and filled with cement after installation. The gate frames were welded and powder coated and had corrugated sheet metal inserts. It was a dirty job and they delivered a product that was much better than I had anticipated. We are very happy with the work they did.

    Cascade Fence and Deck
I needed a new front yard fence to replace an old wooden one. After much research I made an appointment with Cascade Fence and Deck for a bid to remove and replace the existing eyesore. Darren Cass, who was professional, efficient, and friendly, showed up. We discussed the options and the work involved. He took measurements, and asked about small details. I also asked about a rotted post on a side yard fence that needed replaced, and he said for a small additional fee they could replace it while they were installing the posts. Then he gave me the bid for a 32" white vinyl picket fence, the timeline and dates for installation, and I asked to be put on the calendar.
On the chosen day the crew, Jay, Luis, and Jeff (all very nice guys), showed up and in no time the old fence was history with no telltale pieces anywhere. Taking out the old posts was slower going. One in particular appeared to be set at the same time and in the same concrete as the sidewalk and entry walk. It took a while, and finally it was removed with no damage to either walkway. At the end of the afternoon I had a much more sturdy side fence and stand of new white posts. The following week the crew returned with the remainder of the fence. As they were installing the gate I noticed the points of the pickets were different than my order. A call confirmed that to be true, a special order was placed for the dog-eared points I requested, and I was informed they would install the tops of the pickets as soon as they arrived. There was not a hint of disgruntlement or impatience: it was obvious their aim was to make a satisfied and happy customer. The next week I received a call that the dog-eared points had arrived and they would install them the next day. They did, and my fence is exactly what I wanted. My gate closes automatically and it also has a keyed lock, which was unexpected.
Working with Cascade Fence and Deck was easy, a pleasure, and the results in my front yard are beyond my expectations. All my interactions with them were satisfying and left me with a smile on my face. Darren and the crew (Jay, Luis, and Jeff) were experienced, professional, and friendly. My fence is beautiful, low maintenance, and makes the front of my house look and feel more secure. And my neighbors have all told me how much they like it, and that it makes their homes look better as well.
I highly recommend Cascade Fence and Deck for their service and their product.

Very punctual and cooperative workers.  Readily accepted my advice/concerns during construction. Went out of way to ensure that I and my neighbor were satisfied with final product, including, adding a cover strip to hide the slight opening at the interface of the fence and retaining boards.  Phill, the owner, is a Coast Guard veteran, and shows exceptional pride in his workers and their capabilities. He readily provided new quotes to reduce costs and accommodate my neighbor's wishes. (It's always hard to work with 2 individuals with separate ideas.) Especially appreciate him providing additional U-clips to secure the foot-boards and installing a double keyed gate lock out of  his own pocket.
Compared to the other 2 quotes I received,  Phil was able to save me $2000 while providing thicker fence boards and a higher quality of construction. Suggest everyone go and view completed fences before agreeing to hire a specific contractor, as I was amazed at the different construction practices and quality of materials.

Extremely satisfied with workers, the final product, and Phil's zest for satisfying his clients.  When presented with the final bill (that was without additional charges for the many things he did beyond the initial contract), I was so impressed, that I actually paid more than the final invoice. Never done that before!

They were timely and professional.  They walked the property, made their recommendation and provided an estimate.    The price was more than reasonable to me.     They showed up on time, their work was neat and the new gate(s) and hardware are nicer than I would have picked for myself !!

I called another fence company with an A rating, but they were only willing to do new fence and not fence repair.   Too bad for them, because Husky was willing to take the job on no matter the size and for me that goes a long way.   Too many contractors (while doing good work) only want big jobs and end up losing business to other firms like Husky.

    I would use them again.

    Cascade Fence and Deck
During the entire project, Cascade Fence & Deck maintained good communication and attention to detail. It took some time to get on the company's calendar to get an estimate, an indicator that they are busy and in demand. Once the appointed day came, salesman Darran Cass came to my house to review the project. He took time to look at the job, showed me photographs of different fence styles, and provided cost estimates for four fence options so the neighboring owners and I could compare fence material and design choices and relative costs. Once we made a joint decision on fence style and materials, Darran returned with the contract to be signed. Within days, the three-person crew of Trent, Luis and Brendan arrived to do the installation. Darran stopped by to check on the project while the crew was working. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, completing the job in about four hours. They removed and took away the old fence material, cleaned up the job site, and raked and swept up all debris and restored the soil around the fence posts. They did an excellent job of tying the new fence to the existing vinyl gate on my property and the chain link fence on the neighboring property. This was necessary to block up spaces where small pets could escape from their respective yards. Darran returned about a week later to review the project with me and ensure that I was satisfied with the materials and workmanship. He provided me with a copy of Cascade Fence & Deck's 10 year workmanship warranty and a fact sheet on care and maintenance of the new fence. I was impressed with this high level of customer service.

    Cascade Fence and Deck
Our fence had warped due to some landscaping activity happening behind us. Cascade Fence & Deck came out and assessed the situation. Then they came back and fixed it. It was done so quickly and efficiently you can't see where the dirt was disturbed! They dug the posts deeper and secured our fencing.
We also had them add a fence gate on the other side of our home. They talked over the pluses and minuses of which way the door swings and showed us how the lock worked and then got busy. This was also done quickly and efficiently.

    All American Deck & Fencing
John is a friendly chap, and eager to build what you want. I needed a cedar good-neighbor fence, with 2x6 cap, and included fencing a 12' tubular steel gate. Start to finish about a week. Johns work is first-rate, and I don't hesitate recommending him.

    All American Deck & Fencing
John was great. I recently hired him to fence off my back
yard and add steps to my deck. I had gotten two bids and his was by far the
lowest. This would have made me dubious had he not had such good reviews on Angie's
List. As we were discussing the placement of the stairs, I stated that I wanted
the hand rail to look like the neighbors but he said he couldn't do it that way
because it wouldn't meet code. I appreciated candor, because I realized that
had he just done it the way I asked and someone were to fall down the stairs
because they couldn't grip the hand rail properly and were to sue, my
homeowners ins. wouldn't have covered it because it's wasn't built to code. So
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

Also, a couple weeks prior to my hiring John we had
experienced a major wind storm and consequently fencing contractors were really
busy. John advised me that it would be several weeks before he could start. I
asked him if he had the opportunity to start sooner, that that would be fine
with me and as it turns out he was able to get the job done a week ahead of
time. Thanks again John for an excellent job.
