    Minuteman Construction LLC
When our bathroom flooded in the walls, I didn't know right away. The mold that came a week or two later was my first clue that something was wrong. After DryTime came out and fixed the mold issues, MinuteMan came to replace the damaged rooms. They were excellent! They were incredibly responsive, very knowledgeable in all aspects of the entire process (including the insurance aspects), highly dedicated to protecting me and my family while we went through it, and overall just amazing people. Everyone involved, from the clerks at the office to the foreman and contractors and business/project managers, was amazing. They went above and beyond on every level (even working on a major holiday to finish up the final relatively minor adjustments!) to make sure we were fixed as quickly as possible and to make sure that my insurance was kept honest when they tried to be dishonest. I was incredibly worried because we lost the majority of our kitchen, and all of our main bathroom, but our rooms look even better than they did before! They also did an excellent job working around our cats and making sure none of them got outside or were exposed to any harmful environmental aspects. I would hire them again in an instant, should I ever have a problem like this in the future (though I really hope this never happens again!!!!)

    The Pull Out Shelf Co
The work is excellent. We should have done it years ago! Love them. Great work which was prompt and efficient. Price was also wonderful. The pull outs extend completely out so no more getting on hands and knees to find thing. Pull out the shelf and it is all there. Hold up to 100 pounds each. Very well made and easy to use. If you do not have these shelves in your kitchen, get them and the Pull-Out Shelf Company is the one to use. First Brad visits, measures and gives the estimate. If you take it (and we got no better) he then orders them built and a few weeks later he returns and installs them. He took just a single morning to put them in. No muss or fuss.

    GodSend Construction
I already recommend Godsend Construction to many of my own clients! I often have to hire contractors for my clients to get a job done right. Godsend is one I've worked with for several years and I have always been pleased with the work they it carpentry, framing, painting, or full remodels and bigger commercials jobs, they are fair and fast and truly do care about the work and their customer. I've never been upcharged and the work is performed quickly and ethically.

    GVL Construction
We hired GVL to do nearly $60K worth of renovations to a home we just bought last year. I am sorry to say that we did not check Yelp or the WA L&I website before hiring him, or that would have run the other direction, saving us months and months of heartache and thousands and thousands of dollars. At first, things got started out really well, and we paid thousands and thousands of dollars to initiate work. Gus was easy to talk to and he really lead us to believe he could do the job. Then several weeks into the job, the project began to unravel quickly. The foreman had been sleeping in the house for a week or more and had punched holes in the walls, leaving a bloody mess (literally). After that guy was gone, they were unable to provide experienced crews. They guys were frequently not equipped to do the jobs and often asked to borrow our supplies - "Can we borrow a paint brush? And a ladder?" Many days the crew just did not show at all. At some point, they brought in some really shady guys from PDX - that rode the bus to the house, without tools or even enough resources to provide their own lunch. Still, we were patient and tried to let GVL pull it together. Patient because we knew we had already overpaid GVL and did not think we could get our money back. After months and months of substandard work, substandard crews and very poor job management, we found out that their contractors bond had was expired, which meant their contractors license was invalid. That was the last straw and we fired them. His words that morning: "I would have fired GVL much sooner. If I was looking for a contractor to renovate my bathroom, I wouldn't hire GVL." We kept great record of every single dollar proposed and paid to GVL and kept all the texts and emails throughout the project. So, we do have in-depth records of exactly how things unfolded. Still, after months and months of "negotiations" we have still been unable to get any of the overpayments back from GVL. If it were up to us, GVL's contractor license would be permanently revoked. That is how strongly we feel about it. You have been warned.

    Cabinet Cures of Pdx
I would not recommend hiring this business. The kitchen turned out great but they're 2 week time frame turned into a month or more. Things were scheduled to start and then they said they could start the work sooner. Julia is the person who writes the contracts, orders supplies and schedules/coordinates the cabinets, counter tops, back splash, sink installation, etc. So the cabinets started on time but they were late arriving everyday. My husband works graveyard shift and I'm on call so he would stay up each morning to wait for them. Then Julia told us the counter tops would have to wait a couple of weeks due to scheduling mix up so we went an extra week with no kitchen and no use of our sinks, water was turned off. 2 weeks later they put in counter tops, they put a golf ball sized hole in our wall under the counter upstairs. They had me pay them and rushed out the door, at first I thought they were just busy but they did not even tell me what happened. The back splash installation was delayed another 2 weeks because they did not order it. They also forgot to order some of the droor handles. It turned out great but the process was maddening. They are one of those businesses that will say it's not my fault, so and so forgot to do this or I didn't know or I wasn't aware. Their job is not hard, measure, order, install, that's it. I would not recommend or use their services again.

    M & J Cousin Construction
The whole process took about three weeks. An associate was the one that came and did the interior work but they took the doors to facility to stain them. His bid was very competitive. He did exactly what he said he was going to do.

I give these folks one star only because I can't go lower. This is one of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had with a company. Their work, though they claim to be custom, was anything but custom. The owner, Jim, claimed to have 20 years of experience installing tile. He took less than 8 hours to do 28 square feet of tile back-splash, and the completed job looked as though someone who had never tiled before did it. When called out on his sub-standard work he left mad, refused to stand by his work, and refused to return email messages. The drawers his company constructed were garbage. No tongue and groove, and the bottoms were stapled on. Within a week I had the bottoms of three drawers come off. The drawers, when finished and installed, were crooked. The refacing material started to peel back within 10 days. Save yourself the frustration and find someone else to do your remodel. Jim's work in my house showed that he has no attention to detail, no real custom skills, and absolutely no pride in his finished product or willingness to stand behind it.

    TGL Construction LLC
Tony and his team were professional from the very beginning. When he came to our house to bid on the project he was dressed professionally and gave us his card as we greeted - it seems minor but a good first impression is important to us. Quality is never cheap but Tony did an amazing job of getting good materials at the best price. He went over the contract well - we paid 60% of the cost to start and the rest when the project was completed. The project was done in a timely manner and Tony communicated with us every step of the way. We look forward to working with him in the future on other projects.

    Minuteman Construction LLC
I was in a panic when I met with Ben from Minuteman Construction. I had no idea where to start when I discovered a huge water leak in my home. Ben was extremely professonal and knowledgeable about the insurance claim process and proceedures to get my home fixed. Ben handled all communication with my insurance company and got everything that I needed approved. From the beginning of this long journey ( more on that later) , communication was excellent. I'm a very hands on kind of person and Ben and my construction manager Danny could not have been more responsive to my questions, emails, phone calls and texts, including after hours. I'm a single mom on a very limited budget. These guys really respected that, Not all things in an insurance claim remodel are included in the claim. I was responsible to purchase some of the "extra" items. I needed new shower fixtures in the new shower and Danny was able to procure these for me with leftovers from a past job at no cost to me. This crew also went the extra mile to do the labor on some unexpected problems at little to no extra cost. With budget in mind, I shopped for several items myself. When the shower door that I selected was not available locally, Danny drove to Gresham to find and purchase the exact door that I wanted. A secondary issue was discovered during my remodel that required a pretty major amount of dry rot repair. Danny addressed this issue. A lesser company could have just closed up the wall and moved on, but I was called right away about the problem. Danny worked with me to explain what was needed and they he did the work for me. which was not part of the initial project. The entire minuteman crew is ABOVE AMAZING ! I had the opportunity to meet several of the guys working on my project. They were all very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Thank you to John, Blaine, Nate and sweetheart! "Going the extra mile" with these guys is not just a saying. Each day I would come home from work to find something "extra" that was done for me that was just plain good customer service. They installed temporary counter tops for me, knowing that I would be waiting 3 plus weeks between cabinet and counter top install. They hung my old cabinet in my laundry room for me. They treated my home as their own and each day they cleaned up any mess, and made sure that I had as much functional space as possible. Back to the long journey. Remodel takes FOREVER. well, at least for my expectations. Contractors, including Minuteman are very busy in this area and getting "worked in" to their schedules is difficult. Both Danny and Ben worked tirelessly to communicate with me and let me know exactly when each step of the project could be completed. That being said, its a lot of waiting. My project took about 10 weeks. So prepare for that and the wait may be a little easier. The best part of that is that the final project is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, well constructed and exactly as I wanted it. I have already referred this company to many of my friends, and I highly encourage you to contact them if you want a company that truly cares about their customers and the work that they put out.
