Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting in Vancouve
It went pretty well and the old SUV looked 10 years younger, no longer embarrassing. It was parked in the rain when I picked it up and I didn't notice several paint drips on it until I got it home. I took it back to Maaco several days later. They apologized and fixed the paint drips in about 2 hours.

Some jacka** hit the back of my car at a red light. She hops out of her car and says, ?oh, I was reaching for my wallet!? I thought. ?yea right, you were on your phone, you dipstick!? Then she says, ?oh, I don?t have insurance, I want to cover this myself!? ?Really, you can?t afford insurance and you want to cover my car and yours!? I was pretty rude to her. She was rude enough to hit my d*m car.

They were wonderful. My insurance paid for it and I have uninsured motorist coverage. I think it cost $3,000. Price was more than reasonably. I am going to use them again, because some jacka** hit me in the parking lot, backed into me. The other side of the rear. They will be doing that too, but that?s on me, I?m not going to notify my insurance. They are good and I am going to use them again, because they are good. Unfortunately! It took 3 or 4 days, I think at the most. Left vehicle clean, great.

They did an excellent job matter of fact the car came back looking like brand new and I was really amazed they detailed it the whole the thing.

I was amazed when it came back it was spotless and the car is actually thirteen years old and it only got fifty thousand miles on it and my wife just started checking it she's just drive it twelve hundred miles to sears so she average it hundred miles a month on it, but it's her car she loves it and he knew that, so I think they went beyond what they needed to do in fixing the car, their just amazing they cleaned the inside and outside the whole thing.

I had never seen this process I was very curious and he explained everything.  I was him work, he took his time and  the outcome looked almost good as new.  I was very impressed and it was a fraction of the cost of having a body shop repair the dent

Matt was spot-on with the estimate in time & price.  They were very accommodating with my schedule and patient while we dealt with getting the at-fault person's payment first.  They replaced the necessary parts and painted it to match.  The car looks like new!  They also solved a different issue that wasn't part of the accident repair.  The back hatch door's struts had pulled out and stretched the metal.  Matt suggested a more permanent solution which required welding and new struts.  It was very reasonably priced and the job was completed perfectly!  I love that I can get groceries in & out of the hatch door without using an old broom handle to hold the door up.   :-)  Happy customer!

They are a full service operation. They have an emergency service and I called them on a weekend, brought it in the next morning and they had it fixed by 11am.  I was very impressed. They did what they said and for a very fair price. They are very nice people to work with.

I've been to Leif's twice now. I won't go again. I've learned the hard way.
The first time I went my car was in the shop for two months. When I got the final statement back, it showed only 11 days worth of labor. So, that means it sat for 6 weeks doing nothing. The other guy was at fault and the other insurance company had to deal with it. There was a lot of damage. I figured it was as Leif advertises...the insurance company got in the way and argued about the repairs.... you know how their advertising goes. So, I didn't pay much attention to it all.
So, after the second accident, I was more attentive to what was going on. I went to the shop in Tigard after my car had been there for 5 full days. Now, bear in mind, the insurance adjuster had looked at the car a week earlier and initially estimated 5 days of work. The adjuster admitted it would probably go longer (and given that I chose Leif's probably a lot longer). I talked to my insurance company and they said Leif's had full approval to start tear down.
Guess what I found when I went to look at my car? Nothing had happened. There were little blue pieces of tape on the damaged parts. No tear down had started. So I called Leif's. They said tear down had started. I knew this to be false as I had seen the car with my own eyes. This was the first warning of problems.
OK, so you're probably saying they ordered parts and things were progressing. Yeah, I would hope they ordered parts. But tear down should have been started in that first week to see if there was more damage. I have a limited amount of car rental insurance. The clock was ticking. I had already burned through several days of my rental allowance and nothing had happened.
So, several weeks pass. By now, I've been told several times that the car is "almost there". Then I get a call on a weekend from someone at Leif's that the car is almost ready and they are doing final inspections and found some mechanical issues unrelated to the accident. At this point, I'm nearing the end of my rental allowance and authorize the repairs - if they're done expeditiously. I'm told they will be done on Monday. I expect to have my car back by Wed. Wednesday comes. No car. Instead I get a call from the insurance adjuster stating that Leifs requested him to come in to do a supplement. They found more damage. He's waiting for someone at Leif's to talk to. He's been waiting for an hour. No one is showing up for an appointment that Leif's requested. He can't wait anymore and has to come back on Friday. He has other customers to get to. This was the second warning of problems at Leif's.
Not long after, I get a call from my insurance company to let me know that my rental allowance has been reached. They openly state that this is rare across all the claims they have, but with Leif's, not unusual. So, I return the car hoping that Leif gives my one of those "free loaners" that he always advertises.
Later that day I talk to the adjuster. He said they'd need three days of labor to fix something that they missed.
I make the call and request a loaner. I'll admit I was a bit upset at this point and not as polite as I should have been. I've burned thru a whole rental allowance and there's no end in sight. I'm told during this call that the insurance company has been very easy to deal with. (I find this interesting coming from a company that touts them as the big corporate enemy of the average consumer when it comes to accident repairs.) I'm told that he will take my case to Leif directly. I get a call later stating that he spoke to Leif. He claims that Leif reviewed my case and denied me a loaner because of insurance delays!!! I ask that Leif call me to discuss. I never get a call. No surprise.
Another week passes and I get a call that the car is ready. I go to look at it. Upon careful examination of the door, I found that it wasn't opening/closing correctly. It's been in the shop for 7 weeks now. How does this happen? I send it back. I ask for a loaner. Response - "I will see what the boss says". I never get a response from Leif nor do I ever get a loaner.
So, the end finally comes in another week. In total, 59 days in the shop and only 73.5 hours of labor. The final customer invoice shows that the insurance company sent 3 checks to Leif's within 3 weeks of the accident. The total sent was about 70% of the final bill - not including what I owed for non-accident related services. So, where's the "delay from the insurance company" that Leif himself spoke of? The insurance company cooperated.
Is this insane or what? And it's the second time. Once burned, twice shy, third...never again.
Oh, as for those repairs that I authorized, well they were done and some that weren't. I'd love to listen to the voice recording they wanted me to authorize the repairs. Their labor rate is $105/hour and I was charged time to change an air filter - which I didn't authorize.

Phil and Marley were the absolute best people to deal with after a car accident.
They were compassionate, understanding, helpful, and trusting.
They did not talk down to me or assume I knew nothing about fixing cars.
They did the job above and beyond my expectations.
They had it done in the time they said they would.
I will go nowhere else for auto body repair.

The leak was not a conventional problem.  It was explained to us that most leaks come from the front of the car and run back toward the end.  This leak happened to be a failure of the glue that holds a shield in place to direct water that comes in at the bottom of the car door window.  There was a 2" gap that was allowing water to come in, so a manufacture failure.  We discovered the leak after having the car washed.
We also took our Pleasureway RV van to them with a huge leak coming from the A pillar on the driver's side.  They found the problem and fixed it and charged us a very fair amount for the work it took them to get the job done.  They asked us to drop by so we could see exactly what was causing the problem and what they were doing to repair it.  I believe this job cost us $275.00.
They are very knowledgeable and you want this when trying to troubleshoot something that could easily rack up a lot of hours. They were recommended by Pegararo Auto Repair, another quality local business we use regularly, and we would recommend both highly.
