    GARLAND ANIMAL CLINIC
I've taken my animals to Garland for over 20 years and absolutely love the doctors and staff. They are compassionate and understanding and get these are more than pets they are family. Would and have recommended them over the years.

Dr Leese and her very busy staff have communicated compassionately and clearly answering my many questions both in the office and on the phone. Dr Leese listens to my concerns, suggestions and hypothesies with patience and actual consideration!! Her staff has been so good with my unfriendly dog, never making me (or him) feel like he is unloveable. Dr Leese has seen my 19 year old cat through a stubborn, chronic, sinus infection that had lasted several years when being treated by another veterinarian. With her openess to adjundt treatments my Cat is now sinus infection free! I recommend Dr Leese to everyone with pets. She is often booked out for several weeks, but accepts drop offs for pets that can't wait. How awesome is that?? She examines the dropped off animals in between her scheduled appointments and I'll bet she skips her lunches too. Oh yeah, many immunizations are free with the first exam!

We have adopted adult shelter dogs in the past, but this is our first puppy. Recently we took our puppy in for a physical exam. The Vet was straightforward and did not talk in "baby talk" like some others we've been to in the past. He passed along a lot of wisdom about bringing up a dog, and both the Tech and the Vet spent lots of time talking with us about our puppy, her breed's temperament, and strategies for everything from feeding, grooming, training and socializing, and of course health care. This initial exam was free, with no further commitment required on our part, and I felt that they demonstrated their integrity by giving us a good deal of time and expertise.

I was unhappy with them. They misdiagnosed the problem with my dog, and it led to a premature death. It's even worse than that. I brought my dog in for an exam because she had been putting on a lot of weight. They took the dog back, I asked to accompany the dog so I could talk to the vet. They said no, no, just ask us any questions you want to ask the vet. They never let me talk to the vet. I was only talking to receptionists. They returned my dog and just said yeah, your dog's fat. It should lose weight. I said look, there's other concerns I've got, and they just said yeah, she's fat. And then I got home and I thought, I wonder how much she's put on since they last gave an exam, and I called them and I said, what does she weigh now versus six months ago when I had her in, and they said well, we didn't weigh her. That is the worst service in the world. Anyway, it was discovered that my dog had serious problems, including a heart condition, that ultimately led to her death about eight months later, and it very likely had been preventable. I had been going to them for years, and so I would say they get an F. I think they caused me the premature loss of my pet. Their bedside manner was atrocious, not allowing me to talk directly to a vet. They were dismissive of me, and I had been a long-time customer. On pricing, I think they're competitive.

They were very caring, and spent a long time with my dog.  They had my dog on an expensive glucosamine supplement, and ten months later, when my dog passed away, the attendant said that they had neglected to tell me that I didn't need to have been buying that supplement from them for all the last several months, because if it had worked, they would have known within two months.  They had me buying a supplement for at least eight months, and it was not effective, yet they were aware of it, but they never communicated it to me and they continued to sell this very expensive supplement to me for several more months beyond when I should have been buying it.  They gave me great service, but that wasn't good service.  I ended up a few hundred dollars more than I should have.  They saw my dog in the interim, and they never told me to stop buying it from them, and they only said it after the fact.  You shouldn't have been giving it to her the last six months because it wasn't working.  It's $65 a month.  Yeah, well thanks for telling me.  At least my dog thought they were snacks.  I guess that's an expensive snack.

    LYNN DEE'S GROOM & TRAINING
Second use on a nippy Lhasa. They seem to be gentle as the girl seems happier on pick-up. Scheduling at other was why I tried this place and I knew they were full-test dog people from some training I went too. Seem top-notch. $45/50 tipped.

The lady who answered the phone was pleasant and empathetic. She found a way to work me in the same day. Treated my dog very well, and while the diagnosis was somewhat of an educated guess, the Vet was apparently correct as his recommended course of action was effective. I have no idea if the costs were in line or not, however it seemed reasonable to me given the concern shown and the quality of care provided. I would have no problem returning to them for care of my animals.

CLAWS & PAWS MOBILE VET CLINIC
It was sad and she seemed a bit afraid. The vet had a difficult time locating a vein so the drugs were administered through a stomach injection. Other than the repeated attempts at injection, the process went okay.

Got a somewhat nasty Lhasa, and they get her done nicely but they cant clear anal gland and have to muzzle her. My old groomer Fido's dig better (but also had advantage of being her first groomer). I also have to use just one groomer and this restriction feels somewhat overblown, like they are doing my a favor for grooming the dog. No doubt the dog can be nasty at times, so concider the dog- it may not be a people or groomer problem at all. Tried another groomer for a while and they did better, but they had to let her rest. Eventually they got tired of that, and when they went faster, had to muzzle, and in the end not better. I would go back to Dee's and they are consistent! Still looking for a groomer who can get in good with my Lhasa like Fido's. In fact, at 9 yrs old maybe those days are gone.

The dogs seem relaxed and the snippy one is still not needing a muzzle after several trips- these people are great with dogs. They also train. On professionalism its a small staff and you cant get someone right away many times- very old-school you call, leave message, they take paper checks (and cards), so thats a B. Price isnt low, a B, but to my thinking they might be more, as they are very committed to dogs and a helpful recourse, so I tip.
