We have had good experiences with them. They cover a lot of things that I didn't expect like shingle shocks or flu shots, and that was wonderful. I have never had a problem with them at all. They are not cheap, the price is high.

Seven hours in the Emergency Department.  It was a cold room. Rarely saw the nurse and only when I left to find someone to help out or ask questions.  No one came and checked on the patient or looked after her comfort or questions. It was a long seven hours of waiting and waiting.

    Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital
The hospital I had been in for 6 weeks couldn't offer me anything more  following serious complications from lower spinal fusion surgery. This was the only hospital for hundreds of miles that would take me, at least partly because I was on a ventilator. I needed a place to . If you are in a position to need advanced medical care (and I don't mean like a nursing home) this is the best place to be. The staff has an amazing level of expertise. They work seamlessly in cooperative teams and have excellent cooperation. The doctors are available and check personally with each patient each day.
The staff included my family in the frequent group planning meetings. The doctors are not as responsive to suggestions, although, some communicated they'd seen it before and that was that. I was pleased how many things they did consider, however.
It is hard to convey how they weaned me off the ventilator and helped me gain strength to sit and stand and walk and breathe and swallow.
Sharon, the front receptionist, was exceptionally helpful to visiting family and friends, and seems to effortlessly keep track of people checking in and checking out. Friendly, calm, efficient, smiling!
They have recently opened a rehabilitation facility on their campus. Their rehabilitation staff and therapists do amazing work, so I'm sure the new rehab facility also does wonderful things.
NOTE: My Group Health insurance covered virtually all costs! I believe they paid NIACH about $113,300.

I don't like that they use Hospitalists, as they are not real doctors. They make all kinds of mistakes and have caused me several dire health situations as a result.

With this particular instance, I had a bad fever and the shakes. I waited more than five hours to be seen, even though my doctor had been calling the ER and telling them that I needed to be seen immediately. I had spoken previously with my doctor about the symptoms I was having, and he indicated that I could only find treatment at the hospital.

I had a catscan after waiting for such a long time and they discovered the my white blood cell count was dangerously high. They checked me in and treated me for the high cell count; they told me that I was sick because of colitis and/or diverticulitis. They then discharged me the next day and pressured me to have a colonoscopy there at the hospital. I refused this, which led to more pressure.

I went back to my personal doctor's office a week later and had some blood work done. All my levels had come back to normal. I also had a colonoscopy done to check on the hospitals diagnosis. The results came back that none of the diagnosis was accurate.

Also, they did not take my insurance info correctly, as a result of this I had to experience collection calls. I have a great fear of entering the hospital because of my many experiences, but I am compelled because it is the only place in the area to seek treatment.

I really feel I wouldn't have survived my 40-day stay there without family intervention. Luckily, after my condition was still very serious but somewhat stable, I was able to be transferred to an advanced care facility where I gradually recovered.

    Group Health - Veradale
They are not perfect, but they are the best out there, so for what's worth it, they have got the highest marks for HMO's in the country in consumer reports. They are very highly rated and very highly regarded, and if they need to refer me to a specialist they do, and they don't dilly dally around. They are pretty on top of it, and they are also good with the preventative care.

    Rockwood Clinic
It is a big place. They are very professional people. They have choices with physician's assistants, nurse practitioners or doctors available. I think the insurance likes using the physician's assistants and nurse practitioners rather than the actual doctor. They are all very helpful. Sometimes they can be crowded sine it is urgent care but we haven't had too long of a wait. They also do mammograms and MRIs there as opposed to driving downtown and we can make appointments for those right there. Because the doctors are so busy, we can have to wait 3 months for an appointment. The office is adequate but not glamorous. The staff is wonderful. Once we are in their system all the billing is done and we don't have to have it redone at different offices and it is all online.
