Dr. Julian had done a tracheotomy on an emergency basis. My family said he was very good at explaining the procedure and performing the tracheotomy in May. He didn't do follow-up care since I continued my hospitalization under doctors' care for several weeks until I was weaned off the ventilator.
My trache opening scarred badly and is uncomfortable. (The scarring was in no way Dr. Juian's fault.) Dr. Julian examined it and confirmed that the scarring went all the way to the wall of the trachea and had left a little tunnel. He said that he could operate on me and remove the scar tissue and release the tension on my trachea.
He was uncomfortable with the idea of performing surgery on me and required I see an anesthesiologist for his/her recommendation. (This was because I had experienced many serious adverse medical conditions during my recent hospitalization.)
I eventually got an appointment at the hospital to speak to an anesthesiologist after he/she reviewed my records. Turned out that it was a waste of time because the hospital had no information from Dr. Julian on the exact procedures he planned for me. The anesthesiologist later called Dr. Julian to confer.
Dr. Julian's assistant, Sue, later called me to see when I wanted to schedule the surgery. I instead wanted to see Dr. Julian again to talk to him and get more details. Sue was very friendly and personable then, later on the phone, and at the second visit.
So I saw Dr. Julian again and had a more in-depth conversation with him. He answered all the questions my husband and I had. He did not push for surgery, and we left with the understanding I'd think about it and call when I decided to have the surgery.
I later decided not to have the surgery at this time (mostly because I am still healing from my recent ordeal and am nervous about having any elective surgery since I had so many complications with my recent medical ordeal).

Our oldest suffered from chronic ear/sinus infections. Dr. Benage has treated him since he was 6 months old. Now at age 4, he is pretty much infection free. In addition, Dr. Benage has treated our 10 month old.
Dr. Benage and his staff have been great. We love how much they care about our boys and are interested in getting to the root cause of the problems, rather than just treating the symptoms.
