Les Schwab Tire Centers - Spokane
DISAPOINTED! I had the first BAD experience with Les Schwab today. It may be related to the fact that the new owner has a different philosophy that the original one. Possible new one: "Bottom line is more important that the customer". It may be to late but maybe Les Schwab should have not let their name to be soiled by the new owner! Mr. Scooter at the store on 3rd Ave, Spokane WA has been very bad news for me today. He was very abrasive, sarcastic, un-consumer service like and overall (excuse my language) a jerk. I told him that this is the first bad experience with them and it will be the last. I regret even servicing the car with them today but it may be impossible to get another appointment elsewhere due to wintery conditions now. I scheduled my appointment few days prior when the weather was nice. At select services the one that fit my needs was 'New Tires' since I was bringing new tires (bought on line). I choose 8 AM Saturday because I had the day off, not knowing that there will be snow on the ground. When I told him that I have my own new tires his attitude changed immediately (I would have bought them from Les Schwab if their 'Fall Sale' would have materialized but it was almost inexistent; in the summer their personnel said that the sale will be about 25% off; new ownership?). He said that anybody knows that 'New Tires' means one buys tires from them and implied that I cannot schedule 'New Tires' unless I choose new tires from them (none of this is true per their website, the way it is set up now!). I said that is not the case and I didn't see another service that would have fit my needs. He suggested 'General Services' and there is not such thing in their schedule; the one that could have fit is 'Seasonal Changeover' witch I haven't chosen since it just happened to be close to winter changeover but that was not what I was doing; I wanted them changed for hopefully 3-5 years to come. He than said that that's the way is going to be and I can take them somewhere else (knowing that might have not been possible due to weather conditions). I tried to reason with him that I picture this as coming in and waiting here around one hour and than drive away. I wasn't prepared to leave the car and now I'll have to walk home. Sarcastically he said you are welcome to wait, and when I asked for how long, he said 8 hours. I left the place frustrated and decided to write about this 'smelly' encounter and I walked home. There are still nice people around though. As I was walking on the bus route a nice driver with STA slowed the bus to ask me if I need a ride. That brighten the day a bit.

    Perfection Tire and Auto Repair
It went very well. The tire leak was fixed. The knocking sound was diagnosed as "piston slap" which they recommended not performing the repair as it is very expensive and the engine longevity would not be significantly affected by this design related problem. A recommendation I confirmed through other sources on the internet. The whirring noise was coming from a failing rear wheel bearing which they replaced. The tire no longer leaks and there is no whirring noise from the rear axle.

Outstanding. Manager Curtis Graham ensured that I understood everything that needed to be done and kept me apprised of progress while waiting. I like that I get free service/maintenance on the tires purchased for the life of the tires. I've bought my tires here for 18 yrs; go nowhere else.

They are a “A” service for me. The price is up there. Quality is excellent. I was in and out of there in probably an hour and a half. The workers were professional.

    AutoNation Volkswagen Spokane
I’ve always like AutoNation sales people, the service people, the service repair people, their waiting room is nice, they are very responsive and they are also very good at keeping you updated on how far along they are with the service. They also have a shuttle if you need to go somewhere while your care is being fixed.

    Perfection Tire and Auto Repair
We've developed a great relationship with them. Their staff are very personable and helpful. They get the work done quickly and their estimates are always right. They're very honest about what needs to be done and what doesn't. We use them all of the time and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else for service.

    Perfection Tire and Auto Repair
I drove to their shop with a very low tire, they took in in, said they were busy, so it would be about 1 &1/2 hrs before it was fixed. I hooked a ride back home and got a call from them about 1 &1/2 hrs later saying it was fixed. When I went to pick the car up, there was no charge, since I've had some of my auto/tire work done there. However, this tire fix was on a newish vehicle they had never seen in their shop before.

My overall experience with them was good. I have had very good experiences with Costco but I purchased some tires from them and they never came in. So I did not know where to go. So I looked on Angie's List and there was a favorable review about Perfection from a few years ago. Just one review but it was the best information I had. So I went there. Where some people do not have tires in stock, they did and they were very quick. They were very nice. For a consumer, that they had them in stock was very good. The price of the tires were pretty fair. It was about the same price I would have paid at Costco. They said the tires would be very good. And I know from the handling of the car that they are very good. Now we will have to see this winter if they still have traction! It will take a while to see if the tires will wear well. From what I know now, they served me very well. Very quickly and friendly and the tires handle well. I don't know how they could be better. The price was good, considering they were the equivalent of Costco. They were incredibly responsive. I would use them again. In fact. they give free balancing for the life of the tire.

    Duford Tire
I trust them. We know the same people and I feel very safe taking my car to them. I feel like I get accurate information so I can make a decision. They're helpful. They get me in as soon as they can. They greet me on a first-name basis. They're competent. They know what they're doing. They honored the warranty on the radiator.
