  • This is definitely not the old City South Auto Body if that is what you are expecting. You may find familiar faces like Michael Platt's, but clearly, the General Manager was not part of the secret sauce that made the business a success under its former ownership. Very long story short...our car was 6 weeks in repair - more than 3 weeks late. There were no anomalies or unexpected issues or delayed parts - just incompetence. Michael and Dan are nice guys in the way puppies are nice, but they don't have any control over process and they didn't have the business sense or backbone pick up the phone and make the awkward calls to let us know they would not deliver today or in fact for weeks. Besides basic project management incompetence, there was a more disturbing issue of gender disrespect. I became involved at the point that my partner escalated the delays to Michael for a firm schedule and daily accountability. His short and dismissive tones with her were a sharp contrast to the contrite ramblings that I got. In the end, Gerber delivered to our home three weeks late. The repair seems to be to an "as new" level. However, certain parts such as the battery and wheel were to be returned as one of the conditions of the contract and they were not. So far, the General Manager, Michael Platt, has failed to return calls for 3 business days regarding the closure of this matter.

  • The shop performed the repair on time, on the estimate amount, and returned the better looking than it went in. I was surprised to find that they not only washed the exterior but detailed the interior as well. Thanks for the great service.

  • I bought a new truck, drove it home from the dealership, and backed into a steel pipe in my garage.  My truck was only a few hours old.  Damage was about the size of a dime but I knew the whole tailgate surface would have to be redone (so the paint matches all the way across).  This repair shop gave me a bid of $300 which was reasonable to me.  I accepted and they removed my tailgate on the spot (Monday) and said it would be ready on Friday.  On Friday it was ready, the tailgate surface looked smooth and the paint matched perfectly with the vehicle sides.  Nice job!

  • On recommendation from my insurance company (Nationwide), I brought my car to A-Pro after a collision. The estimate was thorough and very close to the final cost. Their time estimate was right on and I got to watch the repair progress on my insurance company website. I received a lifetime warranty in the repair. My car was clean and the repair was perfect. The owner and his wife who run the shop were nice and helpful and the property was clean and well maintained. I will definitely make the drive from the Valley again if I ever need one of my vehicles repaired!!

  • We were referred to Terry by a friend who owns a upholstery shop and has had body and paint work done for them and other customers  by Terry.
    I was pleasantly surprised that his bid came in more reasonable then the other 5 bids I received. His finished work was excellent. He also is a really nice guy to deal with. You won't be disappointed.

  • I went to several auto body shops within 5 miles of our home to get quotes on the repair. The damage was not server, just scrapping and 2 small indentations in the rear quarter panel. I stopped at American Way Auto body and Dennis looked over the car and wrote up a preliminary estimate in the amount of $1,226.14. All the other auto body shops informed me that the rear bumper would need to be pulled, painted and replaced. Dennis took one look and felt that the scrap, that was on the bumper, just needed to be buffed out. He went into the shop and came back out with some compound buffing liquid and proceeded to remove the small black scuff mark. He then said that the bumper would not need to be taken off at all. I was sold!
    We made an appointment to have my car repaired a few weeks later. They said it would take about 3-4 days to get the work done. I brought my car in on Monday and received a call on Thursday morning from Dennis informing me that most of the work was done. There was one small problem that a clip had been broken removing a side molding around a window for the painting. He said that the Nissan dealer did not sell just the clips but you had to purchase the entire molding to get the clips. This was then going to increase the cost by about $150.00. I thanked him for calling me and authorize the additional $150.00 charge. I told Dennis that I needed to discuss this with my husband.
     
    I spoke to my husband, who just happens to work for a large national auto parts company. He told me that the clip most likely was not broken while removing the molding but was most likely broken during the installment of the molding. He said this was the most common time these clips break. Either way my husband said that since they broke the clip we should not have to pay for the additional charge. When we went to pick up the car on Friday my husband was with me and talked with Dennis directly about this charge.  He asked to see the invoice for the parts. Dennis agreed to give us a copy of the invoice. My husband then told Dennis that we were ok paying for the part but he would not pay for the mark up cost on the invoice. Dennis then told us that he did not have the authorization to agree to this and he would then get the owner to talk with us. The owner came out and said that our request was fine with him. He apologized for this problem and asked Dennis to redo the final bill to us. This reduced the cost by about $75.00. 
    All said I really liked the work that they did to repair my car. The job was done correctly and they communicated well, to keep me posted of the progress and any issues that came up. If I need any other body work on this car or any other automobiles in the future I will use American Way Autobody.

  • They gave me a cheaper quote then another company. A free loaner the only thing they wanted was me to fill the tank up when I brought it back. The work is great. I cannot even tell that my rear bumper was replaced. They also painted the other front panel for free so it would match. Super nice. Great service.

  • Excellent. They are extremely honest and forthcoming, you get the feeling that they are and quot;on your sideand quot;. Don kept us informed of any changes from the original estimate and included us an all decisions. The outcome was excellent.

  • Horrible management/owner. Car was brought in by insurance company to fix damage to front end. Company was not truthful in any aspect of the transaction. Whether it was time frame or parts they said they would be using.
    Thankfully we moved the vehicle moved to another repair shop before they started tearing it apart.

  • It went great! Appraisal was thorough, professional, and fair. Everything was done on time as promised. They even repaired a major, unrelated, door ding for a fraction of what other shops quoted. They did an excellent job on everything. Everyone at the shop is friendly and genuine. I would definitley go back. And, I have recommended them to a couple of friends.
