Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • This past summer I had a new patio installed. Since my professional background is in the design/construction industry with a degree in landscape architecture I drafted up design drawings and specifications for my project. Doing so would help ensure all companies were bidding apples to apples. I then did a lot of research on paving companies then solicited 7 bids from small and large companies, some who advertise in the newspaper. We met on site so I could get their input on my plans, including product specifications (paver brands, etc.). CD Paver Management’s bid was the low bidder. Not surprisingly the bids (including tax) ranged from a high of $39,082 to $21,493 ($17,589 difference). Typically, when bids are high companies have high overhead or did not understand the scope of work or were not really interested in doing the job. Additionally, when companies submit a low bid and are awarded the contract, they will submit additive change orders to try and make up for their low bid. Since you, the home owner, are already under contract and the work is underway you are usually at a disadvantage. After receiving the bids, I interviewed three of the companies to ensure their bids were based on my drawings and specifications and to hear their plan of attack. One of the companies told me they couldn’t reduce the existing stair risers from 7 ¼” to 6” as I specified. They also told me they could not replace the existing handrail and that I would have to have that done by someone else. When I met with Cary Stephenson of CD Paver Management, he assured me he could do all of that without any problems. During our multiple meetings Cary was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of my (many) questions and was very responsive to my texts. As with all construction projects there were some contentious issues that had to be resolved. Because of my detailed and thorough nature, we haggled about some items and the final price. Happy to say we worked it out amicably to a fair and reasonable solution. Cary’s crew was also a pleasure to work with. They are a hard-working group of guys. Their workmanship was really good. Having personally done some paving projects and being retired, I was on site every day and inspected their work. Whatever issues I brought up they resolved without question. They were meticulous in their work and were more than agreeable to do some minor additional work without nickel and diming me. There were no change orders except for some added scope that I requested. I was very pleased with the finished project and would highly recommend them to anybody. As an added bonus Cary’s crew was fun to work with. Roger # 1 (foreman) and Roger # 2 were really hard working and friendly. All of the other crew members were also hard working and great to work with. Carlos - aka “El Frojo” (-: was also a blast to work with. The project was done during the heat wave in August so as an appreciation for their hard work I gave them plenty of cold drinks and fruits every day. I was so pleased with their work I took the entire crew out to lunch. So, if you’re considering having some paving work done, I highly recommend CD Paver Management. You won’t be disappointed.

  • Cary was very responsive. His team did a great job, cleaned up after themselves. The work took less than 3 weeks. We were extremely worried about tree roots from our heritage small leaf maple (60 years old) under the asphalt. They ended up building up the driveway so thy did not have to dig down.

  • Dionis and his team visited the site a couple times before the work began to ensure my expectations were understood and timeline of the project fit with my schedule. The work was done to the backyard (roughly 6,000 sqft) and started with removing all existing grass, weeds and roots. I was already surprised by the difference once all existing growth was removed and the new dirt and leveling was finished. They worked quickly and made sure I was happy with the results each step of the way. Communication was great. The sod arrived when he expected and they were quick to install. The results were amazing and we had multiple neighbors interested in who was doing the work. I'm writing this review 2 months after the job was finished and the grass still looks amazing and is very healthy. I have a few other projects needed around the property and will use Dionis again without question.

  • Nisi Construction have turned my house into a beautiful home. From the day I hired them they have been nothing but professional and courteous. Even with all my changes, they were nothing but patient with me. When I first bought my house I knew it had possibilities but when Nisi came to give me ideas and an estimate after so many other contractors tried (I won't mention names), I knew he was the one to complete my dream home. From the brick and stone work in front, the gorgeous pavers in my driveway and patio, I'm just overwhelmed. They knew exactly what kind of plants and trees I wanted. Worth every dollar! I love having guests over and entertaining on my backyard. I will most definitely be recommending you and your guys to all my family and friends.

  • It went quite well. The work was done while I was at work over the course of a few days, with steady progress being made in mid-December. They really did a beautiful job, and the new concrete block (18x9in) wall looks decorative and feels very secure. I would work with them again.

  • Harry and his team were amazing. Not only did they have the most competitive estimate but they were available within the week to start the project. The project got a bit bigger than expected and yet he still stuck to his estimate! They finished a huge paver patio within a week and it turned out beautifully. Everyone on his team was so sweet and work with us along each step of the way to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. They even added French drains along the side of the house to help us with unrelated draining issues. The service was excellent and Harry was always available to answer any questions or make changes on the fly. He is a good, honest business man and I would recommend him and Seattle Rockeries as a whole, to anyone looking to do a project on their home.

  • We essentially started with a "blank slate" yard in a very sad state of affairs and System Pavers essentially remade the front, side, and backyards into something we can be proud of. We are looking forward to enjoying our new yard for years to come. In the front yard, they reconfigured the whole design and put in a large parking pad, retaining wall, and planting area. This connects to an entirely new path along the length of the side yard, up some steps, and around to the backyard where there are two large new patios, both bordered by retaining walls and with new steps in between the two levels. They installed lighting throughout the yard. Everyone on the team was a pleasure to work with. Nate, the designer, listened to our needs and wishes and came with up a design we love that put all the pieces together. The project manager Jacob kept in clear communication with us the whole time. And the crew worked fast and did very high quality work. The work was done to a high standard, and they ended up starting and finishing ahead of schedule. The finished product was even nicer than we expected. It's not cheap, but is a good value for money because it was done right and has a 25 year warranty.

  • Good initial planning but details needed to be spelled out more clearly for the crew to follow. The pavers were of great quality and looked really nice once in place. What an improvement from or cracked concrete driveway from before. Our job site manager, Jacob, was very responsive to any concerns during the reconstruction process. Thank you Jacob.

  • I was extremely happy with the professionalism and the quality of the work and the manner in which I was treated. Cary and his staff were conscientious and completed the job on schedule and went the extra mile to correct things that could have easily been added costs to the estimate. Be clear about what you want and Cary will make sure they achieve the look that you want.
