Handyman reviews in Seatac

  • I contracted Val and his team to install tile in our newly created basement shower and to also tile the flooring in that newly created bathroom. Val and his team did an excellent job! They were on time, professional, well priced, honest and straight forward! We had a bit of back and forth because I was picky about the floor tile, but Val remained patient and worked with me through the whole process. We also had a leak coming down into the basement through the ceiling that Val helped us to troubleshoot and fix with minimal expense. It was all around a good experience, I would recommend to family and friends and will use in the future!

  • They did an excellent job on everything. I needed framing and dry wall done in a bathroom as well as painting and wall repair in both the bathroom and family room. All work was done very well and much faster than I thought they'd be able to complete it.

  • Bought 4 hours of Handymen services for $199.00 thru Angiestlist on September 2017. The owner, Wilmer Garcia took my money according to Angiestlist within a month and I called him several times and never did the job. The Angiestlist Rep.called him several times, but never responded. I called him too, but he denied that he took my money and warned me to stop calling him, because he does not have money. He told me that he uses the "Contractors.com" now and stopped using the Angiestlist. My 4 hours Handymen service expired on March 13, 2018 and lost my $199.00 Please do not use A S GENERAL CONTRACTOR LLC, WILMER GARCIA, THE OWNER, because I got bad experience lost my money and the job was never done.

  • My neighbor and I hired Racy’s LLC, Ray Helms, to replace the fence we shared. It was eleven sections of standard cedar fence. He generally works alone, and we booked the job in early September and waited until October 17th through the 20th, a four day job, his first available opening. Two days before the start of the job Ray texted me to tell me he had “minor surgery” and his “doctor forbids” him from starting the job on the 17th, but he can start on the 18th, ( sounds dubious to me) and Ray arrived on Wednesday morning 10/18. He came with an assistant, which seemed like a good idea since since he was already a day behind schedule. Mark, the assistant is a nice guy, but it remains to be seen if he knows anything about fencing. I stayed out of Ray’s way because I don’t want to be in his face the minute he gets there and first check on their work in the early afternoon. They appear to be finished replacing and setting the new posts, however the last two sections haven’t been removed. Ray walks by me, completely ignoring me and doesn’t respond to my, “good morning Ray,” and it’s clear he’s in a very bad mood, something I’ve seen before on a previous job. I then ask, mostly to Mark, “you’re going to finish the fence all the way to the end, right,” Ray abruptly interrupts, “NOPE, AND IF I HAVE TO REMOVE THAT VEGETATION I'M NOT GOING TO BE SO NICE ABOUT IT." I ask Ray, "did you tell my neighbor?” “Yep” he says. “And she’s OK with it?” “Yep,” Ray responds again. Ray’s first lie, or maybe second if you can believe that his doctor only forbid him to work on the 17th, but was fine to work on the 18th. The next day, Wednesday, 10/18, the third of a four day estimate, it’s raining pretty hard all day. I see them installing rails from my window, (about 30 yards away), and start screwing in pickets. When I return from doing errands at around 4:30 I drive by my neighbors house, where he's actually accessed the job, I see Ray loading up his truck. It looks like he’s done(?) It turns out he’s even already made a dump run. So he must have stopped working pretty early. I check in with my elderly neighbor, and she’s very upset. Her side of the fence, with the rails, looks so amateurishly installed, with both top and bottom rails either too high or too low, rails that follow the slope and then suddenly jump up or down a foot with no logic, plus there are two sections of old fence still remaining to be replaced! Me and my neighbor meet on Friday to look at the work and we’re appalled. It’s 11:00 AM, the weather is perfect, but Ray Helms isn’t there, he really just walked off the job without even a simple text message to us. We text him but he doesn’t answer, then email him about the shoddy and incomplete work. He doesn’t respond until Saturday and says it was raining too hard to work on Friday, another blatant lie. I check the official weather just to be sure and there was only .13” inches of total rain on Friday. The lies and unprofessional behavior are really adding up. By late Thursday all the minor vegetation was removed by my neighbor, which Ray used as an excuse for not finishing the job, ( which any other fencer would have asked the owner, "what do you want me to do about these plants?) and now Ray has changed his story, he didn’t come on Friday because he "didn’t want to go over budget," (the third lie), but was willing to come back in the spring to finish the job, which would, according to Ray’s logic, would still put us over budget. The man lies like water flowing from a faucet and some simple humane communication could have solved all or most of our issues with his work. The man just doesn’t want to finish the job, and will only deal with an elderly lady he can bully and bull@#$% with all his lies, and never responds to my texts or emails. Finally, after we tried to compromise with Ray, just having him replace the rails and pickets and not the posts on the last two sections, he still maintains that he can’t come back until the spring, or maybe he’ll have a cancellation? My neighbor and I were so exhausted trying to deal with this pathological liar and coward, we just paid him off to be done with it. We are now looking for someone to correct the blatant mistakes, (which will cost us more money) and finish the job. As a landlord for 23 years I’ve dealt with all kinds of repair people and this incident easily goes down as one of the worst I’ve experienced. If I could give 0 stars I would. The final lie was after we told Ray we didn't need his services anymore, he responded, "Oh, that's too bad, because I just had an opening for Monday." Now if that were rally true, and he was a pro, as soon as he had the opening he would have texted us, but of course he didn't.

  • Took a little bit of time to return emails and calls. Informed him that the delivery of materials would be a couple hours later than anticipated. He responded that he was not available at that time and to contact angies list for a refund. So that's what I am doing

  • Fantastic, have hired Jack numerous times, as always he was timely, professional, and extremely proficient at what he does. His skill, attention to detail and his terrific personality make him so much fun to work with. Thanks Jack, you know we want you back to do our deck!

  • He worked for 3 hours and the patch work looks better and is much smoother than what was there before. He explained that he couldn't make it look like there was no damage to the wall so I didn't expect perfection but it does look better than it did (it previously had a shed in front of it so you couldn't see that part of the wall). I felt he did a good job with what he had to work with.

  • Ron was very responsive to my email, asking to call him. When I did call him this morning, I identified myself and said that I was calling regarding Angie's list, he sounded annoyed and said he was on a job. I tried to ask him if he does handyman work in my area and what he charges as an hourly rate he said he didn't know what I wanted and that focuses on bathroom upgrades. I didn't want to leave him a bad review, but I did want to note that he could definitely be more pleasant when answering calls from Angie's list prospective customers

  • The work that was done was on a rental house that we own. Since we do not live in that state, we have yet to stop by and view the work ourselves. We had hoped to stop by prior to sending in our review, but realize that time is going by. However, our tenant who is a very long term tenant, as well as very discerning, has sent us pictures and has stated that he felt it was a good job. Also, the fact that when he quoted the job he indicated that he could not give a definite price for the exterior wall that had dry rot in it until he removed that part of the wall to see if there was more damage than could be seen by looking at it prior to removal. When we got the invoice Jack had indicated that there was no further damage behind the exterior wall and that the price quoted was what we were to pay. Thus, we feel he has done an excellent job and is also very honest. We will definitely have him do any further repairs that are needed at our rental. Another thing that impressed us was that he was very busy when we first contacted him and told us that he probably would not be able to get to the job for a couple months. However, he made time to meet with us at the house when we were in town to give us a quote and he completed the job before we expected. Again, we definitely will have him work for us again!!

  • All of the work occured during my vacation so I was able to help out. 1. No one picks up the phone. Both Angie's list and I have tried calling Marek and his number is not in service anymore. The other number does not have a answering maching. 2 Marek contracted a foreman who was habitually late to the days he was supposed to work. One day he was 6 hours late. The quality of the work that the foreman did was good/OK. 3. Foreman walked off of the job due to non-payment 8 days ago. Picked up his tools and said he would not be working anymore for Marek. I have tried calling Marek multiple times to discuss and I can't get a hold of him nor can I leave him a message. This has occured repeatedly. I do have about 20-25 hours left on my contract. 4. Marek did leave his trailer at the residence for trash. He emptied it and dropped it off again. He or someone else picked it up one morning when I was home and left without talking to me. This was after when the foreman walked off the job. Pros: Marek is nice guy and pretty intense. Was responsive early and eager to help out. We sketched out a plan to ensure that there were only a few tasks that needed to be done with installing the hardwood being the largest of the tasks. He did leave his trailer for trash/carpet/pad. Cons: Hired a decent foreman, but he was unacceptably late every day he did work. He was at minimum 2 hours late the three days he did work. Poor communication, not returning phone calls, etc. After the foreman walked off the job and I could not contact Marek, I called Angie's List to complain. I have had NO living room, office, dining room or bedroom for the last three weeks because all of my furniture is located in these spaces. I did hire a profession floor installation company to do the work that was not completed by Marek. At the end of the day, if Marek had quality workers and improved his communication we would not be in this position.
