  • It was wonderful! Alina texted with me before scheduling a meeting to make sure she could do the work. When we met she was warm and efficient. She also kept me in the loop as she was doing the work and finished the alterations before her promised date. She made a high stress situation for me significantly less worrisome and made a dress that was too big for me with a crooked zipper fit like a glove. What was especially impressive was the way that she maintained the integrity of the lace in the body work that she did on the dress.

  • I bought a dress for a wedding I was attending the following weekend and am unfortunately between sizes - the fit was a little snug in the bodice of this 'fit and flare' dress.  Without a larger size of the dress to be found and within only days of the event, I went to Angie's List to find a seamstress so I could attend this wedding while still being able to breathe.   And while I don't recommend my approach to dress purchasing, I was beyond pleased with Alina, The Seamstress!
Alina responded promptly to my e-mail and we began texting back and forth where she asked detailed questions and requested photos of the dress to determine if letting out the bodice was an option.  She was very patient throughout and once she had the information she needed, she scheduled me to come by that very evening.  Her work space is well appointed, comfortable and very organized.  I tried on the dress in the changing room of her work space where she pinned and adjusted the hem for me to my satisfaction.  Then, after her thorough inspection of the material and seams of the dress, she explained we could safely let the bodice out a half an inch on each side given the available fabric. Woohoo! Although I could see she was very much in the middle of wedding season, she let me know she could have the work done within the very short time frame I was requesting (four days).
I was given an estimate and I agreed to the work.  She texted me when the work was completed the very next day.  She had me try on the finished product to check the fit and the finished work was exactly what we had agreed upon.  Perfection! Alina's a true professional and I'll definitely be returning!

  • Patricia charges more than most tailors because she advertises that she will come to your residence for fittings and delivery of your wedding dress. She came to my house 3 times for fittings but when it came time to deliver my dress she said she was too busy and I had to pick it up. When I got the dress, I saw that it had yellow lines all around the hem where she had marked it and it also had big yellow lines on the fabric where she had marked it to put in a new zipper. I contacted her about fixing it and she instructed me to spray, not kidding, WD40 on it. I reluctantly tried that in a small area and it did nothing to get the yellow off the dress. I tried water, soap, bleach pen, peroxide, grandma's secret stain remover, and nothing would get the yellow out. She became irritated with me and never once offered to come to my house to fix this mess herself. She said she could "fit it in" if I dropped off the dress back with her again and I could pick it back up ON MY WEDDING DAY. I said that was completely unacceptable, she told me she was "not dealing with my drama" and hung up on me. I was appalled at the horrible customer service and the fact that NO seamstress doing wedding dresses marks them up with yellow!! I took it to a dry cleaner I trust and they were able to mostly get the yellow out (they figured out she used some sort of wax based product) but not completely for $127. I would not recommend Alterations by Patricia Toney to ANYONE. Overpriced, under delivers and stained my wedding dress. Horrible experience.

  • As everyone states, Alina was extremely accommodating and is a true artist with perfect results! Could not have been more pleased, and am thrilled to have found her! I'm sure to return, and would recommend Alina to anyone.

  • Rosa was easy to contact and uses texting as well as phone contact. We scheduled a visit the first time we contacted her. Her location is a business in her home, but she has a wonderful studio area devoted entirely to her profession. She was very professional and made some wonderful suggestions to help improve the fit of the dress. Her turn around time was spectacular given all the work done on the dress (approximately 3 days was all she needed). That may get tougher to achieve as prom season really heats up. Overall her sewing was extremely good and we are very happy with her work. The dress fits my daughter perfectly now.

  • Karla took the logo file I sent to her by email and digitized it for her computer operated embroidery machine. The digitizing
work cost $10, and the hats and vest were $12 a piece, which might seem high, but the fact there were only three items, I found the cost to perfectly acceptable. The logo's turned out very very nice.
I would use Karla at Full Fathom Embroidery for any further embroidery work.

  • I knew I had a short turn-around time so I called this tailor on Saturday to see if it would be possible for her to hem a pair of jeans and have them ready by Tuesday noon. I ABSOLUTELY HAD to have them by Tuesday noon. She said that would be no problem so I took the jeans right over to her shop.
I had a TON of things to do on Tuesday to prepare for my Wednesday flight - with just enough time to squeeze in picking up the jeans at the tailors. When I arrived at the tailors I caught her as she was heading out to the car to run home - BUT SHE HAD NOT STARTED TO HEM THE JEANS! I was so upset that I just asked that she return the jeans and I would take them with me too long - she asked if I could wait she would hem them right now.
I decided to wait. It only took her 15 - 20 minutes. I had to skip a couple of other things on my to-do list but I got the jeans. My question is - since they only took a few minutes to do why weren't they already finished? I had called Saturday and specifically asked if she had time in her schedule to get them done by Tuesday noon before I even took them to her!
She did a good job on the jeans but I will probably not go back.

  • Simple, easy process! Galina is one of the very very few alterations people on Angie's List with an email. I contacted her, and she responded within a couple of hours.  By email we agreed on a price and the work to be done and set up a time for me to take my things to her house. It was a pleasure meeting her in person as she is delightful!  I tired on one item for her to get the idea of what I wanted. 3 or 4 days later, my work was done and I picked it up at Galina's.

  • They are unbelievably fantastic. He can make a $200 or $300 suit look like a $2,000 suit; it is fantastic. The owner has been extremely fast and has been able to get things to us when we needed it. We get great fits; we have even bought suits from him and had him tailor them. This is one of those finds that you just get; this guy is great. I will use them again in the future.

  • This is a fairly new shop. They have a large window in the front, and they have forms with various types of clothing (for example a wedding dress, tuxedo, etc). The lady who works there is always dressed professionally and nicely, which is good. She's nice, responsive, and quick. They're reasonably-priced as well. It's been a good experience overall!
