Redmond Tree Services Reviews

" I am glad I bought Tree Resource arborist consultation through Angie's list. Nick sounded like a true expert who loves trees. He explain me why a Maple tree that worried me is not a

for the house and doesn't need to be removed. He also talked me out of removing a Pine tree and explain how it can be much prettier and not block as much light with proper trimming. Based on Nick's report, I hired

to trim a number of trees and bushes and I really like the results.

"We purchased a $199 for $400 worth of tree service through Angie's List, on special, with

? service.
They emailed us promptly through Angie's List asking for available times. I replied and waited. And waited. After a week I replied again through Angie's List email. Waited another week. Finally I used the email contact form on their website to send them a note of complaint.
I received a call about an hour and a half later. The man on the phone said he just happened to be going through our file and noticed we were available that day, and scheduled a time for his guys to come out. No mention of the repeated emails. On the phone this contact said the guys were going to be out with their equipment in the area so it made sense for them to come by our place; he also mentioned that it was "possible" the service would cost more than the $400 worth we bought through Angie's List. This was not our understanding of the deal we bought, but I agreed because the trees did need trimming and he insisted the deal was still excellent because the guys were out with their trucks, etc, already.
The men came out and immediately told me the two trees in the backyard were way more than $400 worth of work. More like $800. I'm not an expert on tree limb removal but that seemed steep and also like a scam. When I balked this man immediately dropped $100 off and said he could knock tax off if we paid cash. Again: I'm not an expert on tree limb removal. But I was aware that there were a few limbs that did need to come down (e.g. over the neighbor's yard and dead-looking, one over our deck). I finally agreed. This is now $499 that we're being asked to pay when we signed up for the $199 Angie's List 'deal'.
The job took less than 45 minutes. Men walked around our yard with leaf blowers and cigarettes dangling from their

. They did a solid job on the few limbs they did cut down - I will give them that much. But, again, less than 45 minutes for "an $800 job, at least".
When I went to pay with a check, the lead guy told me it really had to be cash to knock the tax off otherwise the government will know he got the money. I was thinking like you do at a car dealership (where they say "cash" and mean "check rather than credit"). I felt this was fishy as well but wrote the check (with tax added) because the service was performed and, again, I'm not a tree limb removal expert and I had agreed beforehand.
The men took their equipment and left. Most of it. They left a bin with a few twigs and branches in it in the backyard, in plain view. I pulled it over to the side of the garage and sent them an email (via the contact form on their website) asking them to come get it. The bin was gone the next day but I received no apology or email (even so much as a "Thanks for letting us know we left some of our property on your property").
Poor customer service. Possible scam where they charge you extra because you used the Angie's List 'deal.' I recommend you do NOT purchase the Angie's List deal for this business when and if it comes around again.
"Started with
Redmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
coupon for $400 worth of service for $200. I had gotten a quote from other tree services but when I saw the coupon I figured I could at least get some of my trees done at a pretty good discount. Scheduling was done over the phone and went pretty easy.
I discussed potential work with the owner's son when he arrived. We agreed to do the
Redmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
plumbs and apply the discount to this work. I had a competing bid and he agreed to meet it.
The owner showed up later and we discussed additional work they could do at a good price since his truck and crew was already on site.
Overall, they did the work quickly and didn't leave a mess. Turns out price wise, I think the first bid I got was actually a bit better on but not significantly. The trees were pretty wild so the pruning job took a bit of effort and the team did a pretty good job shaping up most of the trees.
I did ask for an additional quote for another section of arbor vitae hedge and they didn't get back to me - I think it might have been too small of a remaining item and they really didn't want to come back with a special truck ( I think they rent it for hedge trimming at that height ).
Overall no complaints - also nothing special.

"The crew arrived on time and got to work. They got the trees down quickly and made as little mess as possible. They cleaned up all of the branches and debris and left the yard looking mostly put back together. The tree we had removed was very large, so some damage was inevitable to the yard, but they did a good job keeping it to a minimum. We will definitely use this company again in the future to remove some more trees in the back yard.
"An excellent job. And, superb cleanup. During a big storm we had a tree down, and we needed a stump removed that was on a bank. We called and agreed on a time. He showed up on time, and as scheduled.
"The job was done completely to our satisfaction from start to finish. The workers (4 of them) were professional, hard-working and completely engaged in the work for the 5 hours it took to limb the tree, take it down, chip up the limbs, and clean up the site. They were courteous to each other, and we noticed how careful they were as limbs were falling, so that no one would be injured. They also kept their containers of gas at a safe distance from any running equipment. They were also very careful as they parked vehicles and equipment in our driveway, and careful of other landscaping in the area of the tree being removed. We appreciated the good communication before and during the job with the owner,

was easy to deal with and when I wanted some extra work done after the job, we were able to work out the cost to my satisfaction. I would definitely go with them again.
"When I find a trustworthy business person I want to tell others. I'm pleased that Angie's List gives me the opportunity to do this.

came yesterday to assess the work that needed to be done and offered me a fair price to cut down five fir trees and one cedar tree. His crew arrived this morning on time. The trees were down, cut into rounds and everything cleaned up in no time. The young men on the crew were very courteous and respectful of me and my property. I wish I had taken a video of the climber. He cut the branches as he was climbing up and cut the tree

as he was coming down. The branches were chipped and will provide good mulch for my garden.

was great and I would use him again in a heartbeat. Before we chose him, I got 5 or 6 other bids, all from arborists like him. He was by far the most hands on. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and did all the climbing and pruning of trees himself. Most of the other arborists came out and wrote up the bid, and then would be around to "supervise" some or all of the time. Although he had helpers doing clean up and more minor details he did the work himself.
Our trees and shrubs had not been trimmed since we moved in and he did a great job improving their appearance. In particular the Japanese maple and weeping atlas (which had tons of dead branches and looked awful) that he pruned now look amazing. Some of the other arborists told me to take out the weeping atlas as it was dying.
Redmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
said otherwise, It looks great now (almost 6 months later). He really improved the health of our trees and look of our front and back yard landscapes.
Also his bid was among the most reasonable.
* very professional
*great sense of aesthetics
* no upselling (he even told us not to do as much work as we had requested as it would not be good for the health of the trees and bushes; and he told us to wait until the winter to do some of the work when the shrubs were dormant)
* no scare tactics (like some of the others)
* really knows what he is doing
* punctual
*There really were none
"The crew did a great job, showed up in time, prepared the jobsite and made sure that there was no damage to structures since they took down two large trees. They worked very coordinated and had a 50ft fir tree and 20 foot birch completely removed in only a few hours. They also did some pruning on two large trees and it all looked very professional and skilled. Cleaned up the yard nicely after the job and left the jobsite very clean and without damage. The owner was super nice to deal with, very responsive and the pricing was competitive. Highly recommend
Redmond Tree Services Provider Name Locked
, would use them again for any tree and landscaping work.
