  • Northwest Outdoor Lighting is the gold standard of exterior lighting services. I spent more than three years searching for a company up to the challenge of artistic and dramatic lighting of our home site which is heavily forested with mature Douglas Firs -- tall skinny trees with not much foliage if any at eye level. I found Northwest Outdoor Lighting (NOL) through the network of experts in the Washington State University Extension Master Gardener program for Jefferson County. From my first email inquiry, I knew that this was a company unlike so many in the landscape and residential improvement sectors: President Mary Peterson immediately responded personally, with specific relevant and responsive information, and invited an immediate move forward. I knew even before the initial on-site consultation that this was a company I could work effectively with and from that moment until this, with our new exterior lights on, there has not been a single moment of frustration or disappointment with NOL. And here is why this NOL client is so wholly satisfied and thrilled with this company: 1. At the initial consultation, Ms. Peterson LISTENED intently to our descriptions of the results we were after and then by herself walked our property. It was clear from the very beginning that there was no plan to offer us a cookie-cut standard collection of safety/malibu/homeowner special lights that I could have had through a big box store or the neighborhood landscape service. It is my experience that such skilled listening is a rare and wonderful skill. 2. Shortly after the initial consultation, Mary returned after dark with a proposed design and equipment that allowed her and Craig Peterson -- master of the intersection of technical know-how and artistic design -- to demonstrate every single detail of NOL's proposed design. Together my husband and I and Mary and Craig walked about an acre of our property, examining the nuances of the effects of each and every proposed light site, adjusting specific angles and intensities, customizing every detail of the design to enhance the specific features of our property. This attention to detail and complete commitment to getting it just right as we wanted was, in my experience, extraordinary. But even those qualities were surpassed by the sheer genius of the proposed design. 3. Words almost fail me in summarizing the brilliance and artistry of the design created for us by Northwest Outdoor Lighting. Somehow Mary and Craig knew just which trees to light, just which direction and angle to catch, just which structures on our site could be glorious after dark. And they knew what not to light as well -- a real hallmark of artistic integrity and experience. Our exterior lighting design is not just simply perfection, it is art. 4. I should also tell you that installation went smoothly --literally issue/problem-free. I have never before had that experience in any home project and I am an experienced home rehab/renovate veteran with six long-term projects under my belt. Even tiny details were attended to by NOL-- the color of our utility box, for example. Old lighting was collected and removed. 5. Finally, you need to know that Mary and Craig are engaging, warm, nice, interesting people who are a pleasure to work with. I wish they lived across the street from me. In providing reviews of any service provider, I always try to offer constructive suggestions to improve the service or to give the homeowner an assist in managing the project. I can't do that here because I don't know how this company could be any better at what they do. Let me summarize with this: I live on three acres of God's country and one of those acres is now beautifully and tastefully lighted. One down, two to go. As soon as I am ready for the second phase, I will make just one phone call. You cannot do better for exterior landscape lighting than Northwest Outdoor Lighting.
  • We had a few possible leaks in our bedroom windows, they were picture windows that did not open, where we already planned to have them replaced in the long run with ones that open to get some air in the bedroom. So, we requested a few bids and decided to hire WCV to do the replacement. Our house has dozens of large windows, that someday will need to be replaced, so we were looking for a company that had the capability to do a job at that scale some time in the future. Jamie was very clear, straightforward, organized and professional. We knew exactly what to expect and when to expect it. The whole process took about 6 weeks, as the windows had to be manufactured as they were custom, we also had a holiday in the middle of that time period. The guys arrived yesterday on time, where they quickly and professionally installed the windows, cleaned up the mess, and were done! We are very happy with their work.

  • Very well, as always. We have used this company for our home and business properties for many years. They don't pump the tank, so they referred us to the companies that do. A few months ago we had the company survey our drain field with flags to inform potential house buyers.

  • We have a leak in our house, and could not determine where it was coming from (windows or siding). Mr. Jose came and did a through inspection. He determined that one of the bedroom windows was leaking. We also discovered that my rigorous attempts to prevent further damage (mold) have been somewhat successful.

  • Jody and his team did an outstanding job on our roof. We live in Port Townsend and Kitsap Powerwash was the only firm we could find that would come to Port Townsend and clean our cement tile roof. We are so glad that we used them as they did a great job cleaning off years of moss and debris from the roof. The moss they took off by hand and then treated the roof to delay future growth. They documented with pictures all of the cracked or broken tiles and repaired all of the ones they could as part of the service at not extra charge. Everything was cleaned up great before they left including blowing off the driveway as an added bonus. We will be using them for annual maintenance going forward.

  • They had allowed several hours for the moss removal but were able to peel it off in about an hour. Nice job but given the estimate was for several hours I'd have appreciated some kind of price reduction. The **** *** on the steel roof was fine but left a lot of residue. Next time I'll be sure they brush the loose residue off. As it is the new needle harvest will build up on the residue.

  • Ron looked at it and said that as it was fully electronic there was nothing to adjust, clean, etc. The problem was with the propane tank which needed a dose of Methanol. He couldn't do the job but he would contact my propane provider to have them follow up. After spending about 15 minutes here he did follow up and the following Friday the propane provider showed up and installed Methanol. Bishop did not charge for the service

  • FYI, Don't trust Ashley Furniture anymore. We got bad experiences with their after sales service. We purchased $2,800 nice leather recliner couple yrs ago, and the leather dye came off left a big chunk ugly stained color on the head rest. The day after we bought it, the chair made a noise. I called the customer service and they pit me on hold for a long time, and after I fought with the customer service on the phone about the schedule finally they sent somebody to fix the chair. We've just realized couple days ago when we cleaned the house that the mechanic who fixed our chair 2 yrs ago didn't tight the caster under the chair and it scratched our nice wood floor. Now Ashley said that it's not their responsibility about the leather dye color came off!! An expensive recliner won't wore out in couple years! Now they charged $30 to send somebody to look at the chair! What a waste of money to spend on a stupid recliner that can't last for more than 10 years. You'll see this is gonna go to BBB for the 2nd time!

  • Very smoothly. Excellent communication all the way. I always knew what to expect and when. If weather or other unexpected thing caused delay, I was immediately notified. Still pending is the planting of bulbs and seeds which need warmer weather. Ken provided a detailed proposal, listing everything to be done and the cost. The job was done precisely as outlined, and at exactly the stated cost.

  • Horrible. Owes us $3000. Had to fire him after six weeks of priming (never even got to the painting). Drips of primer were in approximately 30+ places (floor, walls, steps, furniture—even on the kitchen sauce pans since he never put down drop clothes). Did 25% of the job and then refused to refund us the remaining $3000. He will probably write a comment here defending his work, but don't be fooled—you're in for a nightmare. If you don't believe us, ask around (we did after the fact) and his reputation speaks for itself.
