Pain Management Treatment reviews in Omak

  • I used to go to this Clinic in the 90's and early 2000, I had doctors who listened and took the time to get to know me on a personal basis, not just by what my chart said. I loved Dr. Yelland!! However my experience when switching back was HORRIBLE!! I feel as though I have wasted a year of my life trying to see Doctors at that Clinic. First I had to meet with a nurse to do a "pain Management in take" or something. I had to wait for over a month just to get that appointment. They told me to get all my records transferred to them so that the nurse could read them first. I did all of this and by the time my appt. came I was out of two medications, my pain meds and my prozac, I wasn't doing to great at this time. The day of the appt. I went in to see Marsha Smith, she tells me first thing that I need to fill her in on why I am there because she did not read my charts. What? They had a month to read them and to be prepared. I begin to tell her everything that is wrong, all my symptoms, past medications I have been on side effects, allergies, Family information, etc. During my appt. Marsha allowed another patient to enter the room from one door, while I was divulging private information, she then told me to hold on and gave this man an allergy shot. He then proceeded to walk though the room, right past me, and out the other door. I was not happy. Then Marsha tells me, It's been an hour and my time is up, she will just get the rest of what she needs out of my chart. I'm like ok whatever can I see the doctor now? No! I couldn't this was just the first stage of the process. I felt like I was being interviewed for a job! I threw a fit and told them how dangerous it was for me to stop my meds cold turkey and I finally got to see a Doctor that day. In my chart she filled out a questioner about me and put in false information. The next appt. I had was with the Main Pain Management doctor. I had to sign a Pain Management Contract, mind you this was about 2-3 weeks after my initial appt. I wanted referrals to the rhumatologist, neurologist, and sleep specialist. He refused to help me with those at all and said I needed to see my Primary Doc. He also told me Fibromyalgia is in my head and that I could cure it by going to counseling. That tells me he isn't qualified to be the Head of Pain Management. Basically, I have had nothing but TERRIBLE experiences there, from being called a drug seeker/addict, even though I voluntaraly gave up my pain meds (oxycodone) after my 2nd actual Doctors appt. The staff treated me as though I was on trial every time I can in.Telling me Heath Ledger died of a Hydrocodone overdose! That has anything to do with me because?? I had asked for trigger point injections, TENS unit, spinal cord simulator, anything not drug related to help me. I never got any of those things, and continued to end up in the hospital. I asked for referrals to all the aforementioned specialists and never received any! I got a referral for PT and massage finally. I was diagnosed with several conditions, but not treated for them. The Doctors don't seem to actually want to do their jobs, and when you call to complain or try to understand their process they try to put the blame back on the patient. We are the ones who are ill and in pain, You (drs.) are supposed to HELP. At this time I have NO doctor in this town, since none will take chronic pain patients. Even though I am off all of my medications. I self medicate with Vitamins and Herbs, as well as over the counter pain relief. I now HATE Doctors and all the bureaucratic Bull that goes along with them. I have contacted Medicare, Lawyers, DSHS, TV Media, Newspapers, and the Doctors "Superiors" all in an effort to be treated in some way for my diagnosis, NO ONE could help me get the doctors to do their jobs! The Doctors also didn't write down all the important things in my charts, but did take things out of context and wrote blatant lies in my charts! When I requested my charts I got other patients private information sent to me as well, and my MRI's and X-rays that I asked for weren't sent to me. The time it takes to even get into see a Doctor is ridiculous and if you have a chronic condition you can't be treated by the Walk In. They will continue to send you home in pain visit after visit. I have been in the waiting room for up to an hour and a half and then waited in the Doctors room another forty minutes just to see the doctor that I had an appt with.It seems that the Doctors way over book and don't take the time needed with certain patients. I was told that I was receiving the same level of care as all the other patients, and I told them that was bulls**t and I was upset for all patients. I feel that the way these Doctors treat people borders on discrimination, and denial of human rights, in the way that they pick and chose which conditions or patients they will treat. I have been on medications that were hurting me and they wouldn't help me taper off, I had to do it all myself. I realized that the Doctors at this Clinic don't really CARE about the patients or what they are going through. They also aren't trained in dealing with certain conditions such as Fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, Rhumatiod Arthritis, and sleep disorders, either due to lack of knowledge or ignorance. They also don't know very much about medications either, they gave me medications that I wasn't supposed to take together and I ended up in the hospital! There were many vitamins they could have prescribed or certain things they could have given me to make me feel beter and help me participate in life. My Physical Therapist suggested several things and the Doctor never wrote a referral for any of it. At this point I don't even want to take my children to that clinic and will be finding them new Doctors as well. Several More incidents occurred at this clinic I just don't have the time or space to write them all.
