AJohnson Custom BuildersShortly after submitting my Angie's List request I received an email response from Ryan. We scheduled a date and time for him to come by for a review / interview regarding our carport project. He arrived on time and was here for about 1 hour. Throughout our discussion, he was very thorough and professional while pointing both pro's and con's to the project. I felt I had enough information about the work required, the approximate cost range to completion. Although we decided not to go ahead with the project, I am confident we would have been "Very Satisfied" with Ryan and Johnson Custom Builders.- fred e.

AConsiderate Contracting & Design IncTom Lyman (owner) and his crew have done a variety of jobs for me - main level remodel with bathroom renovation, floor refinishing, electrical upgrades; outdoor patio cover/pergola and new fence; and full basement remodel. I was a first-time homeowner when I bought this 1950s home 6 years ago. Since then, I've worked with a variety of electricians, sewer, plumbing, oil tank decommission, HVAC, landscapers, and general contractors and subcontractors. Tom Lyman and his crew are simply the best contractors I've ever worked with. Tom enjoys helping homeowners realize their vision and has great ideas to improve both current livability and future resale. His whole team, including his trusted subcontractors, are excellent craftsmen and good communicators who maintain a high standard for professionalism and customer service. They are reliable, hardworking, considerate, and produce quality results. I prefer to be onsite for projects and am very hands-on. At the end of each day, his right hand man Carlos will check in with me to be sure I'm happy with the work and answer any questions I have. This degree of professionalism is unusual in the industry but for me as a homeowner, it's crucial. I would not hesitate to recommend Tom and his team for any general contracting work.- Lynda P.

He drove out to meet us the next week and spent over an hour of his time listening to our list of desires, concerns and constraints. All the while he was able to answer our questions and provide design ideas with options that would make the project more budget friendly. My wife and I were impressed by Ryan's customer service and the spectrum of talents he offers as a designer, architect and contractor. ARichard's Custom ConstructionRichards crew removed and replaced an old crusty dilapidated sunroom/greenhouse room that was connected to our family room. I can't stress how bad it was. They added new walls, windows, insulation, flooring, electrical, lighting and paint. They also reconfigured the laundry and furnace/water heater space into two separate rooms. The process was what you always picture before you hire someone (and things go downhill). There were zero problems. Eric and Mike worked 7-330 M-F and were awesome and professional. We love our room so much. It has changed the entire look and feel of our home. From start to finish they went above and beyond to provide a quality product.- Daniel P.

We hired them in 2015 for a bathroom remodeling for the basement bathroom, and we were very happy with their work, so we were happy to bring them back for the main floor bathroom. J&A were prompt and reliable in communication, provided a detailed quote, and started/completed the project on schedule. Their workmanship is great, and the quality of work is very satisfactory.

AFrom beginning to end, Groundbreaking Construction was excellent. This company has excellent communication, pricing, and workmanship. They work with your budget, give options to keep the job within budget, and discuss pros and cons with you. They showed up when they said they would, sometimes stayed late to complete a project, and always cleaned up each day. The team was pleasant and respectful, and really cared about the work they did. I cannot recommend this company enough. A++

FEstimate was about $5950 to put two small walls and door in corner to create a closet, no painting. Size of closet around 3 x 4 feet. Another contractor estimated about $2950 for same. Kept looking and found a genuine handyman to do it for much, much less. Be smart and get estimates.

FI called John and asked him to make a few minor repairs to my home in Sunland. If John was moving slow and even took a lunch break it should have been no more than 2 hours worth of work. Instead John sent me an invoice for 10 man hours. Apparently it took two men 5 hours to complete the list. John was asked to replace the key under the mat but after 3 separate visits by my Property Manager no key was ever found. I texted John asking him where the key was, he said his men would have left it and that he was not a thief. I never accused John of being a thief so not sure why he made that comment. After my text he called the my Property Manager, well known in Sunland, and berated her over the phone. John is very unprofessional, I do not recommend him, stay clear. There are better people to call on. Check out all the 1 star reviews on Yelp, don’t make the same mistake we did.
