Tree Service reviews in Newcastle

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Mike was the only tree service I called that actually picked up the phone on the first call. They came out that same evening to look at the job. Kristy texted the bid that night. We got 2 more bids, but White River was the best price. We originally planned to do the job over two evenings, but they couldn't make the first date and were great about communicating their scheduling. They showed up for the 2nd appointment with extra workers and got everything done, including clean-up, in 2 hours. They even checked in with us a couple times to make sure they didn't over-trim any trees. Everyone was friendly and professional. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone needing tree service.

  • This review is not about their services. It is a review about the company's professionalism. I merely share my experience with you so you can beware and be well-informed before you decide to work with this company. At 8am I had a ring at the door. It was Cloudy Sky. I have never solicited from them before. As soon as I open the door, Bill said, "You're not Manoush." First of all, if he can't even find the right house, that makes me question a whole lot of things. However, I don't believe he actually had a "Manoush" to find because there is no one with that name on my street. And the next street over does not have the same house numbers as my street so there is no chance for a duplicate address. Also, the house on the next street with the closest number to mine is not Manoush. In fact, I don't believe there was a "Manoush" at all. I think it was all his method of cold-calling on houses with large trees. I say this because after his rude introduction, "You're not Manoush," he motioned to the large tree in my front yard and said, "Here. Let me give you my card. Because that tree is going to split and fall on the house. It is very dangerous." How coincidental. I don't appreciate that kind of scare tactic. Furthermore, we have had the tree looked at by several tree companies and PSE also evaluated the tree and they have all found the tree to be sound. When we have asked about the tree splitting, all the companies had the same answer: IF it split, which is unlikely, it would fall to the North (away from the house). Lastly, the business card he gave me has their own company name written incorrectly on it (Cloudy Sky Service Tree instead of Tree Service). So, even though I didn't solicit nor receive a formal bid from this company, I can already tell that their level of knowledge, attention to detail, and their dishonest method of marketing are enough to convince me that I don't want this company anywhere near my house.

  • I communicated with them from WA to do a job in Aurora CO and the entire team was very helpful. They were able to schedule the job within the 2 days I was in CO. The junipers were cut down, stumps ground and they left the place looking nice.

  • From beginning to end, our experience was great. Ian came out within two days of our phone conversation and I appreciated his laid-back, non-pressuring demeanor. He actually saved us money because he recommended doing less work than we originally thought we would need. We scheduled the service and the crew came out to do the work while we were out of town. When we came back, everything looked great! For the record, we had a tree removed (it was growing sort of entwined with another tree and wasn't very healthy) and hand another tree thinned out (a very big alder that loses branches when it's windy).

  • I had a really horrible service. The work was shotty and way overpriced, unlicensed, unregistered on everything. It was $350 to cut off two limbs of a tree and left a mess. I'm not even sure he knew what he was doing. On performance, I'd give him an D, but the fact that he's not licensed and not registered I give him an F. I think he's a scam artist. His name is Prevoft, and first name is Richard. On his card is a UBI number, it's an identification code 603348988 which is bogus. I checked it out. Plus, he had me pay the check to his name as opposed to the company which is dub, dumb, dumb, dumb. I know better than that. I can't believe I was so stupid, but we make mistakes. It wasn't thousands, it was hundreds, so thank God for that. The price was way too much.

  • Great attitude from all of the workers. Had to work in some tight spaces (wires) and did great. Cleaned up the yard and the public road beautifully. I will be using them for an even bigger job next year.

  • CJ gave me an estimate over the phone, based on my stump descriptions, and was able to come out within a couple days. He took about an hour to grind both stumps, and swept up debris from the sidewalk and street. The machine was quite noisy and belched diesel fumes, so am sure the neighbors were happy it was quick. CJ warned me that he didn't remove the woody debris in the yard, which was fine, as I used it to mulch my rhodies. He reduced the final price as one stump was less work than his estimate - nice!

  • Great! Arborist visited first, examined our trees/bushes, drew up list of treatments. His crew then came and followed plan exactly. Our trees are now slightly thinned, well balanced, yet still having their natural shape. Our big birch in front was in dire shape and now looks so much better, and may survive!

  • They were prompt, they did what they said they were going to do. I think there only draw back was some of the trimming wasn't as clean as it should have been. The trimming could have been a little cleaner on some of the trees. They were responsive.

  • Excellent communications, showed up on time, did exactly what we needed and then some. They are extremely professional and cleaned up after themselves. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Telling our block watch about them too!
