We were able to close in fewer than 30 days over the Christmas holidays. They were very responsive in what they needed from us, so as long as we were quick in responding they were able to get through things quickly. It was very helpful and reassuring. We have actually referred them to several people. They are a smaller company so I think they can give more individual help. Their online system was also great and easy to use. You didn't get lost.

  • We used George Spano from Westwood Mortgage to finance the purchase of our new house.  Because of the length of time it took to sell our house, we were in discussions with George asking questions and gathering information for at least six months prior to using his services.  Throughout this process, George was extremely professional and polite.  Once we sold our house and purchased another, George and Westwood mortgage really shined.  The process of purchasing was cumbersome and filled with many roadblocks along the way, none of which were the fault of Westwood or George.  On the contrary, George patiently and professionally helped us surmount each roadblock and get through the loan process. George even drove to the airport on his own time to pick up signed loan papers and get them to Escrow so we could close and move into our new home ahead to a three day weekend.  Without his help, we would have been homeless for an extra four days.  We're in our new house and we love it.  Thank you George and Westwood Mortgage to helping us get there.  We highly recommend your services.

  • I saw one single rating of an A for the Prospect branch located in Oregon
    and thought I'd give it a try on a investment house we've already received other bank preapproval and made an offer on.
    Vanessa and Jaime her assistant were generally fine other than getting my name wrong, constantly having us sign electronically then ask for hand signatures, and most importantly, changing the entire direction of the loan so it was no longer an investment loan but a home owner occupied loan plus a renovation loan.
    I wished they were clear about the criteria for final approval before having led us down a torturous path of yes and no's, acquiring contractor estimates and documents etc.
    I would not trust their so-called initial approval and their judgement about what the final result will be.

  • I met with the lending officer the first week of October. I realize that with rates so low, they would be very busy, but given my circumstances I did not expect the process to require almost a full 2 months. The lending officer was always courteous and responsive to my questions. I believe, however, that there could have been more attentive communication. Here is an excerpt from the email that I sent to the lending officer the day after final papers were signed:
    . . . 
    The issue for me has been communication:   1) You originally prepared two estimates for a 15-year loan - one with no cash required, total loan $115,619, monthly payments $1098. The other included an up-front cash payment, $3,616, yielding total loan of $112,000, monthly payments $1071.45/month.  I told you at our meeting that I would bring in the cash so I could have the smaller loan and lower monthly payment. You reminded me that I would need to have a cashier's check when I met with escrow.  I take responsibility for forgetting how this transpired, so when I asked about the check and was told by both you and the escrow agent that I didn't need to bring the check, I didn't pursue it - having totally forgotten that this would lead to the higher loan amount. Although I should have remembered, I would think you would have made a note for yourself.    (2) At that October meeting I also gave you my card with different phone numbers. I explained that my cell is usually not turned on, so it would be best not to use that number. The first appraisal representative apparently missed the explanation . . after you emailed me asking if I had heard from the appraiser, I called John (the owner) and we set up the appointment. A few days after the appraisal was completed I happened to turn on my cell for another purpose and discovered three messages from the first appraisal rep asking me to call. He apparently didn't even try my home or work numbers. I assume this delayed the appraisal, which in turn delayed preparation of final papers, which delayed final signing.  (3) When I met with Sonya (Title company) to sign the (final) papers last week Friday, we had to stop because I caught the appraisal fee still included in the settlement costs. When we called you, you said you had forgotten, and would follow up. That was fine, but, again, we shouldn't have had to make the phone call in the middle of signing.  
    I believe the lending officer might have been somewhat overwhelmed by the number of refinances he was handling, but I believe the three items mentioned above should have been better managed.

  • Everyone in the office is friendly and goes out of their way to ensure excellent service. Not only were they upfront and clear about money needed and they expected calendar - they were fantastic of keeping me posted on goings on. They were available beyond traditional hours and usually responded to my many questions within minutes. There were a few challenges with the condo complex and they worked VERY hard with the lender to ensure that the condo closed on-time and on budget. They really went above and beyond. They also sent me a very thoughtful and nice toolkit once my condo closed to help me with moving and getting settled. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience.
