  • I started out on crutches and a splint boot. in December. 2x weekly Tom did ultrasound on my foot and stimulus to keep swelling down. added the bike as soon as I was able to put a shoe on. rode for about 2 to 5 minutes and eventually worked up to 20 minutes in January. When I started to walk he added in the non weight bearing squat machine(on a pulley) and some leg extensions. later in February I began squats and and lunges on the balance half dome ball. Bicycle was now up to 30 minutes. in late feb to early march I began balancing exercises standing on one leg at a time. Earlier this month(march) I was balancing on my surgery leg for 20 to 30 seconds no problem. Two weeks ago I added squats with weights and lunges with weights on a careful do it if it doesn't hurt basis. My foot is healing up nicely. My atrophied left leg(surgery foot) is strong now..
    Note: my doctor that performed my foot surgery is very picky about how a Physical Therapist does therapy on his surgery patients. He sent me to Tom because he knows he will do exactly what he wants done. Judging by the outcome he did it perfectly as I now have a brand new perfect foot. I started going 1x a week 3 weeks ago and doing my exercises at the gym on the other days

    For the IT band syndrome and bursitis I was treated with Ultrasound and stimulus therapy along with exercises done at my local gym and at home. Both conditions went away and never came back.
    I highly recommend Monroe Sports therapy. they are thorough, professional and conservative in their approach to helping you heal.
