  • I went to the walk in clinic because my doctor did not have an appointment available for two weeks, and I am in pain with neuropathy. I needed a referral to the Neurology Department along with something for pain relief. While doing some tests with the strength of my leg, the doctor asked me to push the leg towards him. I did so, my leg is very weak. He then said if that was all I could push (and my leg was that weak), I wouldn't be able to stand or walk. He puts his hand near where he had it before and he had me push again. I pushed and it was a tiny bit better. Then he calls me out for being a fake. Like I was making it up about how weak my leg is. I have severe anxiety and panic and started to cry. He asked what was wrong, and I told him he shouldn't have talked to me that way, and he made me feel bad. He said he sometimes has to do it because of all the people he sees - as if he was saying patients with fake conditions come see him. I told him he was being a j****** about it (I was angry at his reasoning for saying what he said to me). He then goes on and on about it! I told him that I can no longer talk about it and I shut up. He gave me my referral and left. Did nothing for pain. As I was walking out he was joking around with the staff. I had to call the clinic and talk to the nurse so he could prescribe something for pain. He sure doesn't listen to patients.

  • He is easy to talk to approach and discuss all the problems. He is very smart and he got to the core issues and prescribed a new medication called and quot;Linzessand quot; for irritable bowel syndrome. He also ordered some breath test. The medication is working great and I am much better now. I wondered as to why the other doctor specialist did not think of it. Then this medication was expensive and the insurance company did not cover it initially, I had to pay about $250 per month from my pocket. Then I asked De. Levin to write a review to the insurance company and impress upon them that there is no alternative medication is available that works for me. He did write to the insurance company and they accepted and now fully covering it with my co-payment. It's a great relief and I am grateful for the doctor.

  • Miserable experience. Extreme waste of time and energy and money. Proof that the medical system in this country is defective.
I apologize for my tone - I'm still angry. Some points:
    1. Poor record-keeping and timing. The appointment was set up months in advance, during which they changed the time to 12:45PM instead of 8:45 AM. My mother was sent a letter from the clinic specifying this new time.
She traveled from Bellingham and I took her to the clinic. We were early. When we arrived they were not expecting her; the front desk records were not up to date and showed the appointment was for 8:45.
    2. Excessive expense, excessive exposure of X-rays for my mother. In preparation for this trip, my mother was given a complete series of scans and xrays on her back - MRI imaging, cat scans, and full sets of xrays during two different dates in the previous month. We had sent all the scans, and the evaluations and reports of the scans, to the clinic (as requested) in the previous month so that they would know what her situation was, and what doctor to schedule her with. Other doctor reports had been transferred as well, from previous exams. HOWEVER, as soon as we arrived at the appointment, they did another xray on her.
    3. Waiting time - ridiculous. I almost walked out. After 2-1/2 hours we still had not seen Dr. Bellabarba.
    4. Misrepresentation of the doctor. The doctor seemed to be buffering himself. Instead of his time, we got a Physician Assistant who came in and interviewed my mother. She acted like the end-all and the be-all of the medical field and I asked who she was. and she said I'm the PA, I work with the doctor. She stated a diagnosis that there was nothing that they could do to help my mother. I asked to know more about all the procedures that we read and hear about. She said that laser techniques are worthless and endoscopy was not helpful without explaining anything. She did not help to explain about what she saw on the films to my mother. When I asked her about the touchy spots on my mother's back she dismissed the question. I found out later that she didn't have a clue what might be causing those sensations.
    4. Lack of communication. After the PA left the room (she said the doctor will be coming in later), we waited another 20 minutes. It was close to 3:30 and we had been there since 12:45. My mother, started to walk the halls, as she needs to move constantly because of the back pain. I finally went to the front desk and said that we were here to see the specific doctor and we had waited too long. We were told to go back to the room and someone would be there to explain. We did and no one came. I went out again and was told they would get the manager for me to talk with but no one came.
    5. Impersonal. When the doctor finally came, he spent 10 minutes. He could not explain why certain spots on my mom's back send shots of severe pain through her when they are touched. At least he admitted it. We did not sense that the doctor had spent any time reviewing the patient history. After spending hours and hours preparing for the visit, giving the clinic the information about my mom, they could easily have said over the phone and quot;we only do surgery, and it's clear from the record that you want help other than invasive surgeryand quot;. We never would have come. This would have saved us all a LOT of time and trouble and money. But they didn't, and leads us to distrust this clinic. He left the room with his students and said he would be back with some information of how mom should find a physiatrist to pursue pain relief. He did not come back, just sent the PA back with a phone number of another doctor that is too far away for my mom to visit.
Clearly, my expectations are too high.

  • Fantastic. From the moment I called as a new patient, they were all very friendly and clear with information. I adore my doctor as she is a no nonsense type of gal, which I really like. The staff were wonderful, and even having blood drawn was no big deal. I love that i have a private account online and can review my test results as soon as they're available, and can email back and forth with my doctor if necessary. I would highly recommend Virginia Mason Medical Clinic in Lynnwood!

  • I went in to discuss the results of my recent blood-work. Dr. Gillette was very thorough, as always, and made sure that I understood everything in the report. We then discussed ways to improve the numbers for some of of the parameters. It went very well overall and I was pleased with my interaction with Dr. Gillette.

  • Overall, the experience was great! No one likes it when they have to see their doctor, but Dr. Beer was great on many different levels.
She was attentive and concerned. One of her areas of interest is intgegrative medicine which I find comforting. The staff at the Virginia Mason clinin in Lynnwood is wonderful, and her M.A. (unfortunately I can't remember her name) was also good. Overall, a good experience.

  • Dr. Bowers has always been very caring and thorough. He asks a lot of questions and has been very good about describing the variety of treatments I can opt for. He has spent time in the gym with me working on lower back pain exercises and supported me in my overall wellness goals.

  • I have been a patient of Dr. Beer for a number of years and I think she is great. Dr. Beer takes time and listens very carefully to any concerns you may have, I never feel rushed. I would recommend Dr. Beer to anybody. My only concern with Dr. Beer is that she is so popular now that sometimes it takes a week to get into see her. If you need to see Dr. Beer immediately and she is not available, Virginia-Mason (Lynnwood) has many other great doctors that can see you immediately.

  • He is very attentive, very thorough and listens carefully. He is modern and provides treatment options. He doesn?t stop with the standard procedures. He refers me to specialists if he is not able to handle it. He is not as responsive as I want him to be. I get a response only after 2 days from any one in the office if I call.

  • She just has a really good manner with her patients. I've been going to her long enough so that she really knows me. I've been to the clinic for about 40 years. She recognized that I needed her and she sat down to take extra time to ask me pertinent questions. It was a really nice interaction that I appreciated.
