They are incredibly responsive, respectful and honest. I went through several roofer estimates that in hindsight were potential rip offs and didn't use them because they hit me wrong or had shady estimates. I had the opposite experience with Sarah and Sound Roofing, they were a breath of fresh air. I could tell she really cared about us and they did what they said, did it well and were very fair priced. ASound Roofing Systems IncFrom start to finish the process was very smooth. Initially Vince, the owner came out to inspect our old roof and gave an on the spot quote, which was clear and easy to understand. We had gathered several quotes from other local companies and during the quoting process, any follow-up questions to Vince and his office staff were answered promptly. Our old roof was sitting on ship-lap and for a new one to be installed we'd need plywood as a secure base. Our old roof was poorly ventilated and we decided to remedy that by getting ridge ventilation and a smart vent, to cool the roof space and prolong the life of the roof. Other work included replacing all kitchen/bathroom vents, installing safety anchors, creating a cricket behind the chimney to redirect water away from the chimney bricks into the gutter, and installing two skylights. The roof we chose was Certainteed Landmark TL and also a flat roof with necessary ventilation, flashing, underlayment etc... We were impressed with the Sound Roofing Systems roofing crew-they were responsive to our questions and requests and they were very careful and professional with their workmanship. The crew took responsibility for issues that came up, like making sure they had the correct size flex-tubing for the kitchen vent and the right sized skylights. Once the work was completed, Brett came out to inspect the work and check in with us. We're happy with the way Sound Roofing handled the whole roofing process and we're happy with the final product, and would recommend this company.- Lucienne A.

ALarry Haight's Residential Roofing CoAn amazing experience from start to finish. George- who we first met- was direct/honest and very knowledgeable. Initially we thought we were going to go with a more expensive shingle with a ridge-but George raised the issue about living in the Northwest and moss forming on the roof-didn't try to up sell us. Also discussed the need for new gutters/skylights - and by the time we were all said an done- the quote was the same as two other vendors for the roof only. There was a little delay getting started- in part due to COVID. Finally got the job going. David- project manager- checked in with my wife every day. They did find a lot of rotten plywood -which did add to the final cost- but job took twice as long. Job site cleaned every day-as promised. So happy with our new roof. Wife had a cough/scratchy throat for 6 months-docs couldn't find the issue-ALL symptoms resolved within 3 days of new roof going on!! FWould not recommend. Really poor experience. I had seen the GuWi truck around my neighborhood so I wanted to have them come quote on my job. My house needed new gutters and also had some rotting on the existing fascia. I wanted to have new fascia installed where needed and then have the trim on the soffit and fascia repainted. GuWi was the only vendor who could take on all phases of the project and was competitive in their quote. I had a lot of trouble with getting clear communication as to what was happening with the project. Initially a crew came out to remove the old gutters and boards. This took about 3 weeks to do, which was longer than what the estimate given to me by the owner was. During this time, I had a front yard full of old gutters, nails, and other debris from the demo work. I have two small boys who get into everything so this was not optimal. New fascia and soffit boards were installed, however the larger soffit board directly under my front entry way was very poor quality, full of pits and knots. The crew that came to demo and eventually replace and prime the new fascia were spotty at best, showing up intermittently. I had to call GuWI several time to affirm that they were still working on the job. The crew did not wear masks (unless coming into my house to use the bathroom). There were also numerous cigarette butts left around my property. They left their tools out unsecured scattered around my patio over several days. The kicker was after priming the trim, they painted it the complete wrong color. The owner explained that this was on him as he had errantly communicated the wrong color (a dark gray instead of the white color my wife and I had specified in previous communications). I didn’t realize this was happening as the crew was working well into the dark (after around 4:30pm in November). After inspecting the work, the crew was also sloppy and took shortcuts, getting paint on brick areas of my home and primer overspray on my grill cover and patio, and several other areas. A new painter came onto the job who repainted the trim the correct color, however because the initial color was so dark, it was still showing through after one coat. Subsequently, the crew arrived to finally install the new gutters (and remove the old gutters) however there was no communication with me prior, and I had to point out to them that the trim still needed another coat prior to installing the gutters. The team decided to measure and cut the new gutters (but not install them) and left them in my front yard. It then took another call with the owner and another week before the painter could come back to do another coat. While the second painter did a better job than the first, crew, there were still areas where the dark gray was showing through or had been over sprayed. Also, because of the lighter paint color, the poor quality board used above the entry way was much more visible. The team finally came back to install the gutters, but installed the wrong downspouts (I had paid extra for upgraded downspouts). They had to return again to finish the installation and this occurred without any prior communication and around 8pm on a Friday night. After the install, I asked the new painter to try to touch up and fill in some areas, but much of it was out of his ability. There were also numerous materials left next to my garage (gutter off-cuts, old downspouts, spray paint cans, packaging refuse) that I had to ask to be removed after the work had been completed. Almost 2 months later and the new gutters and downspouts were finally installed and seem to work, but overall I was very disappointed with GuWi, the lack of project management oversight and communication, professionalism from the sub-contractors, and the lack of attention to detail on my job. The owner communicated that this had never happened to him on a project before, which didn’t leave me feeling any better or more satisfied with the project. I also paid the invoice on-time but subsequently received emails for weeks that I had not yet submitted payment. My wife had to email to ask them to stop. I would not recommend GuWi for any type of work if you value your time and/or your home’s appearance.

CThe initial work done was pretty ok. The major complaint is about communication. 1) Repetitively no call back was received even though we left voicemails. 2) the crew did not notify us when work was finished (2 times) even though specifically asked for (then try to leave voicemails with questions, there is no return call (see issue-1). 3) when we were told that the crew actually rang the doorbell, this was definitely not the case as we work in office next to the front-door. How does that work? Proper communication is important to us; as such cannot go higher than a C. Would not hire again, even though the final product (gutter install) was to our satisfaction.

AWe had a positive experience from beginning to end. The estimator responded quickly to our RFP, coordinated the a appointment date & time, and arrived as scheduled. He took the time to look at our specific situation, proposed options and identified areas where a roofing contractor might be needed to augment the gutter work. Our other bids were more “cookie cutter” (e.g.; replacing an entire run rather than repairing a leaky end cap). The final bid was timely and within budget. The work appointment was set promptly and professionally including reminders and confirmations along the way. The crew arrived on schedule, completed the job quickly and professionally. Debris, including old gutter material, was removed without our intervention. COVID protocols were followed throughout. The one “even better if” suggestion is to include an end-of-job walkthrough with the owner. We were unaware that the crew had departed until looking up to see that the truck had gone. The work was completed per quote, but a touch base would have provided better closure.
