Sound Chimneys Masonry & Cleaning LLC
Terry Dalton and his partner came on time, went up to the roof and started work right away. They did an excellent job at very good price. Terry does only what is necessary. Very professional and decent person, Terry even gave me a discount for being Angie's member. His wife, who does scheduling, is fun to talk to. I wish there were more people like this in the business.

It worked out excellent. The price was very fair and they did an extremely good job with cleaning up. They were also very friendly and came when they said that they would. I have no complaints at all.

    A & J Retaining Walls Co
The people at A J Retaining Wall company were a delight to work with. They handled the whole project professionally from start to finish, including calling utilities to have gas, water, electric and sewer lines marked, the brick was dropped off in an out of the way place just a day or two ahead of the project start date, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up and hauled away the extra dirt and asphalt that had been dug up to allow for installation. The paving is absolutely beautiful! Very solid and level, and even better than we could of imagined. The price was very competitive and entire crew was delightful to have around. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Overall, I was pleased with the outcome of the project. There was a minor communication problem when speaking over the phone, but that was resolved when using text.
We wanted to install a patio to help sell our home and time was crucial to schedule someone to come out in late summer. Rocky fast to respond to our first call and came out within a few days to scope the work. What I didn't realize at the time was that he does not provide any designs, but did provide his input with the best way to layout the bricks and slope. Also, scheduling was given vaguely and no estimated times provided, other than we will be out sometime in Sept.
Once we decided on a pattern and provided to Rocky, he then said we were scheduled out to Oct.  I expressed my concern with the timing and the initial expectation to complete in Sept. He was kind and responded by switching other jobs to accommodate our 2-day project. He was always patient and kind to work with.
His staff that installed were very knowledgeable, professional and finished the job on-time.
Overall, I am pleased with using A-1 Rocky Landscaping once we were able to get past the communication and expectation barriers.  If you know what you want, have the plans and design, then I would recommend to use them.

    The Chimney Specialists
Recently had the roof redone in which the roofers removed the existing flashing, so I had to get a mason out to install new flashing and do any other chimney work needed.
Got bids from several companies and chose this one. Not the cheapest, but overall felt the best about them and what they proposed to do.
Mason Brian and helper Kevin showed up on time and promptly got to it.
Brian explained what they were going to do and showed me details along the way when I asked.
They had to come back for one touch-up due to running out of caulk at the last corner sealing, but that was done in a timely manner.
    Professional, personable and would recommend.

    Prestige Chimney Services
Our initial contact with the company didn't go well,  as there was some internal miscommunication which resulted in a crew
being dispatched to our home before we had authorized any work.  However,   after discussion with the company we were
convinced that it was simply unintentional human error and proceeded to schedule the job as originally intended.
The masons arrived on time,   were friendly and easy to work with,   and did a good job.   We're glad that the overall experience
    turned out to be positive.

This vendor was difficult to get a hold of.  I had to make several calls to get an update when they would show up to start.  I was told over the phone by who I believe was his wife, but I'm not sure because they never answered the phone with the company name.  Anyway, she said he would be out around May 20th and be done by May 25th, at least that is what I thought she said.  She and the owner were very difficult to understand.  I called a few more times to ask some questions and I get a call back at 8:30pm on May 6th that his workers will be here tomorrow to demo.  I got home the next day around 7pm and they were still working.  The problem is they had no idea what the scope of the job was.  They didn't know how wide I wanted the driveway, also they were to remove a shrub and haul it away, again no idea and suggested I cut it up and throw it away.  They called their boss and talked to him over the phone, he wasn't sure either what the scope of the job was and asked ME to give his workers a copy of the contract because he didn't have one either.  Although I e-mailed it to him per his request the day after he came out with the quote.

I had to call the owner to find out when they would be back to complete the job, when I finally got a hold of him he wasn't very helpful on what the next steps would be.  My property had a lot of unexpected water, therefore it needed to dry before pouring the concrete, which makes sense to me.  But he didn't give that impression, he just said I have a drainage problem and cannot finish until it's dry.  So I had to ask him if I was suppose to call him when it's dry or what, I wasn't sure how this works.  I finally asked my neighbor to get involved.  He had to make sure they were going to reinforcement down before pouring the concrete.  The vendor was, however, I would have never known that if my neighbor didn't ask, the vendor didn't explain much at all to me.

At the end of the project, it looks good and I'm glad I did it.  However, today 4 days after completion, I noticed my water hose had been running in the back yard.  They didn't roll the hose back up and turn if off completely.  Also, they didn't put the stone wall back.

Overall, it looks good, it just was not a good experience with communication and organization of the project. For the cost I expect better management of the job and communication.

They were very knowledgeable and gave me helpful advice about maintenance that we can do ourselves.  For applying sealant,  a water base latex applied with a backpack garden sprayer was recommended.  They were scrupulously careful about my plants and watering lines.  They used hose guards to protect the flower beds.  The finished work looks very good, and they did a thorough job of cleaning up.

Their prices are competitive.  I saved $400 with a Big Deal.

The owner was a very nice man. He responded promptly, came to the appointment on time and explained everything quite thoroughly. Very nice and professional. I just cannot afford the work my chimney that needs to be done. He was kind enough to provide me with an idea for a stop gap measure.

    RC Masonry Residential Restoration Co
Robert was on time and on budget, but what impressed me the most is the quality of work and his attention to detail.  He acid washed the brick twice before grinding the old mortar, tuck pointed the entire house, acid washed again and then waterproofed.  He had to take down part of the chimney and rebuild it and also put bricks into various openings from old water lines to fan outlets to electrical access holes.  He removed various old cable and telephone lines.  After all that, the windows were washed, the planting beds cleaned up, and the walkways pressure washed.  The house looks brand new.  I can't say enough good things about him and his company.  He always explained what he was doing and why.
