    Castleberrys Carpentry
Advantages: cost Disadvantages: does not manage to the budget, no formal change order process, sloppy and incomplete work, does not listen to his client and doesnt care how the job ends as long as he gets paid. I hired Castleberry because they seemed highly skilled and their bid promised quality work at a fair price. Neither one was achieved on my job. The master carpenter used my job as a training ground for his new apprentice. This was not communicated to me, and resulted in an extraordinary number of hours (over 400!) charged by both men for this relatively simple scope of work. When I brought this up at the end of the job I was threatened with legal action if I didnt pay the bill in full. I reluctantly paid it, but at the same time was grateful to have them off the job. If that wasnt enough, I caught the master carpenter vaping in my downstairs bathroom. He admitted to it and showed me his vape pen. I couldnt believe it. The master carpenter was vaping while operating electric saws and a nail gun! He claimed to be vaping CBD for his sore shoulder. Then he got defensive and exclaimed Whats your problem? (Really? What's MY problem? You've got to be kidding me). In the end his explanation doesnt make sense. If he was vaping CBD (and not THC) why would he be doing it in my bathroom and hiding it from me AND his own employee? At the end of the job I asked them to check all the trim to make sure it was properly installed/anchored because Id found several pieces of door trim and base trim that were loose. Three weeks later I was STILL finding pieces of loose trim that were not anchored. I emailed and texted Castleberry multiple times about coming back to finish the scope of work for which hed been paid in full. He only replied once to say he was too busy. That seems to be par for the course with this company. The work they performed for me does NOT meet the standard of care for finish carpentry. I cant recommend them, and I wouldnt hire them again if you paid me. Youve been warned.

    Sound Renovation, Inc
We worked with them when we first bought our house in 2014 to update the kitchen, update carpeting and add some new hardwood floors, paint the inside and outside of our house, fix our front deck, and build a new shelving/media center. The owner, Todd, was excellent to work with (as were his crew). He was always available to talk to and was clear on what needed to be done and the cost. He felt strongly about doing things right and not just for the money. We knew we could trust him to give good advice on what was needed because he never failed to keep us from spending money on unnecessary changes. When we decided to remodel our bathrooms in 2018 (plus a number of other small projects), we knew that Sound Renovation was the only company we wanted to work with. Due to their busy schedule, we didn't get the work done until 2019 but another wonderful experience proved that it was worth the wait.

    Renewal By Andersen of Washington
Great! Everyone was professional and caring from the salesman to the project manager to the installers. Our installers, Chad A and Bobby R had a tough, dirty job because they had to cut into stucco. They coordinated with our stucco repair guys and were always courteous and cheerful. We couldnt be happier. The windows look great and the patio doors fit better and are so much easier to use than our old ones.

Extremely quick. Worked with our schedule and was completed the work fast and they are all perfect now. Ive called on him in the past to fix our kitchen faucet, Ive referred him to family and friends and will use him again if needed

    Renewal by Anderson Seattle
We had French doors installed and the look is fantastic. The process was well conceived and there were plenty of check ins during the weeks leading up to the installation. Any questions I had could easily be answered. I was especially happy with the installers who came to my home. Justin K and Curtis H were prompt, hardworking and cleaned everything up when they were finished. They were really focused on the small details that make the whole door look great. Thanks guys.

    Rain City Exteriors
I found Rain City Exteriors through James Hardie website and requested an estimate. We wanted to re-sheet the house, replace our sidings with new fiber cement sidings, have the siding painted, and install new gutters, a new front door and few windows. Their price was affordable, beating major competitors like Home Depot and Lowes. We decided to go with them since they had top rated reviews, were a local company (from Kirkland, Wa) and they had their own crews (with clean back ground checks). Make it short, they started the project right on time, and finished it on time on budget. Not only they did not cut corners, they did extra work for us like replacing the rotten fascia. Everyone that we worked with or talked to was very polite and professional, including Jose (owner), Guillermo (sales person) and the crew. I very happy with the project outcome, thanks to Rain City Exteriors

    Soos Creek Woodworks
We recently completed our kitchen remodel with Bryon and Lee of Soos Creek Woodworks. See my previous review, which I submitted recently for our bath/laundry/dressing room project. We did the kitchen a few months after the other project, which brings me to my first point about Bryon and Lee: Flexibility. We'd originally planned to do the kitchen first and then the bath/laundry/dressing room. However, our plans for the kitchen lagged so we switched them, which was no problem for Bryon and Lee. They also went out of their way to accommodate a break for us between projects, which we really appreciated. They finsished the first one in March, packed up, did another job they had pending a little bit earlier, and came back in July for the kitchen. Our kitchen was a full blown, down to the studs remodel. Bryon and Lee handled everything except the countertops, wood floors, and painting the cabinets. Cabinets were all custom built by Bryon and Lee in their workshop with lots of extras like soft close and plenty of rollouts. We added lots of things during the project such as fixing a pocket door that didn't work right, moving a duct, finishing some wood french doors we had installed, fixing up a ceiling in an adjacent room, and a whole bunch of finish carpentry. As with our last project, Bryon is just a fair guy who won't take advantage of you, just wants to do it right, and have you be happy with the result. Bryon and Lee went out of their way to accommodate schedules with other contractors we had in for the project, as the wood floor, countertops, and cabinet painting are best left to specialists. You'd think that after 3 months (and 2 months for the previous project) we'd be sick of these guys but we never really got there with Bryon and Lee. They're personable, honest guys doing great work and we sort of miss them. Hopefully they'll stop by to say hi one of these days...

Service was excellent throughout. Tucker, who provided our quote, also gave us pointers on other aspects of our renovation and gave us some very good recommendations for other contractors to use. The installation team were punctual, polite and took great care with all aspects of the installation. Highly recommended.

It went great. This was the 2nd project we hired Bryon and Lee for. They remodeled our kitchen at our old house 5 years ago. Bryon is a master of all trades and handled everything except countertops and painting of laundry cabinets for us. He built beautiful custom walnut cabinetry for our bathroom and dressing room. He also built custom paint grade cabinetry for our laundry room, which we had professionally painted. Tile, faucets, shower, etc., are all in their wheel house. Things we like best about Bryon are: 1) He is extremely conscientious and very concerned with doing things correctly. 2) Broad skill set 3) Patience. My wife and I are collectively not the easiest customers but Bryon and Lee just keep calm and carry on while doing everything we ask through the inevitable stresses of remodeling. 4) Fair. Things came up during our project where Bryon could have really taken advantage of us. However, it is not part of his character to do so and when scope changed/increased he always made it extremely fair and economical. 5) Flexible. We discovered that our bathtub, which took 9 weeks to obtain, was smashed to bits when Bryon and Lee unpacked it. The guys found a way to keep going on other aspects of the project and took a few days off while we waited for the emergency replacement. I really appreciate that they didn't pack up and leave for another job. In short, if you are looking for true professional remodelers who care about their results and will do almost anything to make your project a success, you need not look further than Bryon and Lee @ Soos Creek Woodworks.

Mike's work is fabulous. He's very good at just about everything he touches. He's so meticulous and precise, you can just leave him to do what you've asked and when you come back it's just incredible. He's always on time and he leaves the place beautifully clean.
