Hardwood Flooring reviews in Gig Harbor

  • Fine Design Remodel were great. They came on budget and the time line they quoted me was right to the date. The designer Carla was great to work with and made sure the whole remodel was stress free for us. I would use them again but would say they are higher in price, but worth it because they had all their trades on schedule. The craftsmanship of the cabinets, molding were really good. I highly recommend working with a designer who can communicate with the contractor and his team. The trades were polite and always cleaned up after the job. My past experiences working with just a contractor with two people is night and day. It is worth more to pay extra for a complete team like Fine Design.

  • Andy did a great job and the floors look like new again. I would recommend using Complete Hardwood and would most definitely use them again. We had an area with water damage (prolonged from outside weather on an exterior door) and plenty of scratches, due to having a dog. Andy and his team have made the floors look like new.

  • It took CR Floors almost a year to finish their contracted work as a result of not having their installers and materials available in a timely manner. We tried to help them by choosing materials that were more accessible, but it made little difference since their installers were often taken away from our job to work somewhere else.
As a result of CR Floors' negligence during the installation of the shower flooring, one of their non-English speaking employees cut the pex tubing in the radiant floors. Rather than immediately report the accident, CR Floors waited until we discovered the cut and reported in to them and our builder. They were apparently hoping they could cover it up before we saw the cut. Instead of replacing the pex loop as suggested by the pex tubing manufacturer, CR Floors chose to repair the cut section with a splice. Since the splice repair was not approved by the pex tubing manufacturer, the entire radiant heating system's warranty was voided. CR Floors refused to provide a personal warranty that would have the same coverage as the manufacturer?s warranty would have had the pex tubing not been cut.
CR Floors' was contractually to be paid their final invoice upon "satisfactory completion" of all work. Instead, CR Floors sought to be paid before finishing their work by filing a lien claim against our property. It costs us over $6,000 to have our attorney remove the lien claim and another $2,000 to try to receive a comprehensive warranty for our radiant floor system.
While removing the epoxy grout residue from the porcelain tile floors, a CR Floors' employee spilled epoxy cleaning solution on our new walnut steps causing over $800 in damages for which they never took responsibility.
CR Floors' spent very little time overseeing the work of their employees. As a result, we have a porcelain tile floor with "lippage" (uneven adjacent tile edges) which is both unsightly and unsafe.
CR Floors subcontracted the installation of the Cambria countertops and failed to oversee and take responsibility for numerous mistakes. The countertop for the kitchen island had to be sent back three times as a result of not carefully and correctly measuring the surface to be covered. The opening for the kitchen sink was not cut correctly making it necessary to have the rack accessory for the sink fabricated rather than be able to use the one that came with the sink. Ironically, the subcontractor had the identical sink along with the same accessories in their showroom.
During the installation of the shower floor in the master bathroom, CR Floors? installer failed to make sure all water drained into the infinity drain, thus causing the shower water to leak onto the bathroom floor producing a wet unsafe tiled bathroom floor.

  • Jim Channel organized all the subs and closely supervised the work.  He is exceptionally good to work with as he listens, gives great advice & guidance, and is exceptionally ethical.  We had total confidence in the quality of work being done, and are completely satisfied with the results.

  • Everything went well except for a few discrepancies.  The worker (1) was rushed towards the end of the installation, the other 2 were moved to another job.  Clean up was rushed because it was late on Friday afternoon and inspection was not performed by the supervisor.  Consequently there were a few minor problems and they had to return to repair the discrepances.

  • The Beckers did a great job with our flooring. You cannot even tell that half of it is old and half of it new hardwoods because they wove it in so well. They were very thorough and professional, and they did a great job. Their quote was right in the middle of the pack, but I feel like the quality of their work was amazing.  They worked really hard to get the floors done before we moved into our house.  I do wish I had chosen a shinier finish than what they used, but that's nothing a little polish can't handle.

  • He is coming again this week to, maybe, clean them for me. Everything was perfect with them; just wonderful. He did the work quickly, was clean, on time and had a wonderful suggestion about design. I maybe had four or five people look and he was the only one who came in and looked at the wood and knew what kind of wood it was immediately. It is ash so he is very knowledgeable. His cost that time was  about in the middle of what I had so he was right in the range. The floors are beautiful.

  • Darby first got to know us a bit better - our likes and dislikes. She patiently helped us through the entire process in an orderly manner listening to our ideas regarding all the choices we needed to make and providing her professional opinions and, when appropriate, alternate choices. Time flew by and when we were finished we were ecstatic with all the help she provided and the decisions we were able to make.

Darby was professional, organized, kept us relaxed throughout the process, and shared many good ideas and insights throughout the day. We could not have done it without her. She made the entire process direct and simple.

  • The salesman was prompt, efficient and gracious.
We were not living in the house during the project but occasional visits allowed us to see that all was going on schedule.  The house was locked up each day and kept neat throughout the process, with no damage.  There was minimal dust on the window sills etc.
We moved into the house two weeks after completion.   It took about a month in total  for the fumes from the coating to dissipate so that windows could be closed.  Fortunately we had  warm fall weather.  Also, we were cautioned  to restrict the use of rugs and avoid sliding furniture across the floors for up to 90 days to avoid scratching the surface before it was fully cured.
The company left detailed instructions on floor care/cleaning along with equipment (Cleaning solution and an adjustable aluminum mop handle  with washable  microfiber cleaning pads).
The floors are like new....visitors assume they were replaced!
I would not hesitate to refer  Maxcare Hardwood Floors or ask them back.

  • I can't say enough about the quality of service MaxCare provided. They were absolutely amazing. True craftsmen. If you didn't know it, you'd swear the hardwood stairs were put in when the house was built. They seamlessly tranisitioned the area from old hardwood to new. A PERFECT match. Everything came out much better than I anticipated. I plan on using them again for sure! Very nice folks as well!!!!
