    The service was done professionally and promptly. He arrived at the time stated and went through his checks on my furnace - leaving me with a list of all he had done. The cost was very reasonable. I would recommend Schrader's to anyone living on Whidbey Island.

    themselves.I felt like it was a bait and switch and I am really unhappy that Angie's List gave my email to such an unethical company.
    They were late. They did not know the area.
    What they did for the original, pre-paid, fee was very little: vacuum vents and ducks. I was unpleasantly surprised when they said it would cost additional to clean my ducts. I had understood that was included. I went ahead since they were there and they did a good job. I did have them go ahead and vacuum my furnace,too, but I thought the fee was too high.
    The two person crew did seem to know what they were doing and they were polite and cleaned up after themselves. One said he was from Niceragua and the other did not speak English. I wondered if they were in the country illegally.

    While the work was good this was not a good experience for me.
    I got an Angie's List email for the special on line for vent cleaning and furnace and dryer vent check for $179.00 for a $400.00 value.  I bought it.  I received an email confirmation with a number to call to set an appt. I called the number and, first diappointment, found company was out of CA.  I thought Angie's list did only local businesses.  Second disappointment, I was told the first available appt was 6 weeks out. 
    I made an appt. for service late afternoon so I could come home early from work.  The window was 3 - 5 p.m. I received a reminder phone call early the week of appt.  That was good.  I went home early the day of appt. to be there by 3:00.  Got a call that they would be at my place about 4:30. Strong accent, hard to understand. Turned out the Techs were from Niceragua. OK  still in time window.  Got another call that they would be later.  They had not allowed for Ferry (I live on Whidbey Island).
    Two man team arrived at 5:20.  Very friendly, got right to work. Vacuumed vents and checked furnace.  Recommended cleaning vents to eliminate rodent mess (I knew this was a problem) and cleaning furnace drum for an additional $475.  I was shocked at the quote. i said would do the vent cleaning for $125 (because it really needed to be done) but not the furnace part for $250.  The Tech was very insistent.  I had to say "no" several times. Though I could see that furnace really needed to be vacuumed., I was not prepared to pay so much additional.  I was very uncomfortable with the additional prices being so high.  I said if they could lower price on furnace piece, I would reconsider.  I could tell that Tech genuinely thought furnace was a fire hazard and, in truth, it looked pretty bad.
    They cleaned vents.  Did a good job.
    Tech then offered a price of $175.00 to vacuum funace drum.  I said yes since they were there and were doing good work and I did not want to go through this again.  They did a good job. They went off with an additional check from me for $326.10.
    I FELT HAD!
    While the work was good, the initial vent vacuuming was not a $400+ value.  I don't even think it was a $179 value.  If they had done the vent vacuuming, vent cleaning, furnace drum cleaning and dryer vent cleaning (mine was clean - didn't need anything) all for $179 that would have been a $400 value.
    As it was I paid a total of $505, which I think is too much, and have a terrible taste left about this company and, worse, about Angie's List.
    I will NOT use this company again and I will probably not select any of the emailed "specials" from Angie's List again because this was such a disappointing and expensive experience.

    Even though they checked the furnace, I didn't have to pay them anything. I didn't have any issues with them, and they did a great job for me. It was a fabulous young technician who was polite and on time. It didn't take him very long. It only took him about 25 minutes to isolate the problem and get the furnace turned on. I was just really really pleased, and I was amazed that there wasn't any fee for it. I am a customer, but I still thought they would charge to send someone out there. The quality of the service was fabulous, and it should be a model for others. He has combined knowing what he was doing with having a nice and friendly, but efficient manner.

    I asked for an estimate by way of Email on a Friday. By the next Wednesday I didn't receive a return call or, Email. I called the company myself and started to talk to Leo. As I was explaining my problem, and that I needed an estimate the phone call ended with a dial tone. I tried calling back, but all I got was an answering machine. I left my name and phone number just in case I was cut off by mistake. They have yet to return my call. If this is how they deal with estimates, how will they react if you have a heating or, air conditioning emergency? It's bad customer service for sure...
