Billy was delightful over the phone and scheduled me in a quick manner. Billy was courteous and efficient while explaining what he was going to do as well as in completing the work.     Protection 1 Security Solutions
    Tadd is an excellent representative for this company.  We have been doing business with them for 20+ years.  He was on time, responsive to my questions, explained what he would be doing.  He left the areas involved clean.  He made sure that I understood how the new key-fob worked before leaving.  He is the best technical specialist we have had from Protection 1 during the time we have had their system installed.  
    I also want to acknowledge the excellent work of team at headquarters.  The scheduling system through their office is far superior to what I experienced several years ago trying to set up appointments through the Kent office.  I believe it was Robin who handled my request most efficiently.

    I bought my Home Security System from SimpliSafe and I am very happy with the service and their customer service and responsiveness.  It is a very simple system and works beautifully. Very easy to install. I did it myself and I was 68 years old at the time.  The initial cost is minimal and the monitoring is half the cost of most monitoring systems. I highly recommend them.

    Freedom Systems, Inc.
    After reading other Angie's List reviews, we decided we didn't want to use a company that was based in another time zone. We decided to have a local business install our security system. We called Freedom Systems. Jimmie and Charlie were both very prompt. Jimmie called us back on the same day that we left a message and made an appointment to come out at our convenience. He explained the options that were available to us, without trying to sell us extra stuff. He was very thorough about explaining all of the choices. There was no pressure and he answered all of our questions. We took a few days to decide and then we called Jimmie back. He scheduled an installation quickly at our convenience. There was an ADT credit (Angie's coupon) for all of the basic equipment, so the only initial charge was the installation fee besides the monthly fee that we will be paying for security service ($42.99 a month using cellular connection). It was installed at our convenience. Charlie came to install the equipment and he gave us some pracitcal information that helped us decide on the final placement of the control panel. When installed, he went over how to use it until we were comfortable using it. Jimmie called the next day to see how everything was going and told us to call anytime with any questions or concerns.  We would highly recommend this company to anyone. There were professional, skilled, and honest.

    SimpliSafe Home Security
    It was very easy to self-install. However no one follows up with me from Simplisafe. When I call them, all they said was go to online and do it yourself. I am not sure yet how punctual this system is and whether everything is well connected since motion sensor doesn't pick up my movement. Also, Simplisafe customer service closes very early (I called them at4pm but they closed already). The company may say I need to consider eastern time. I understand, but 24hrs service (not automatic machine recordings) makes more sense for security system. Good thing is no contact, so I'm going to try for a while and change to other companies if I am not satisfied with their service .

    First contact failed. Left a message with the salesperson who returned my call promptly. He asked me to email details which I did. Then didn't hear back. Called again a week later and he responded promptly, had evidently lost my info and things went smoothly from there. He came out, went through the house with me and provided a verbal estimate. A service contract is required for monitoring and the final installation price is determined by how long a contract you sign. I would prefer to have pricing separate from a service contract. The service contract can't be canceled early, which I don't like, although it can be moved if you move. I assume this is typical of monitoring services but still don't like that type of contract. I liked that Washington Alarm is independent. I did not want to use a big company provider like ADT. Their service center is also independent and local which I like. We signed a contract and installation was scheduled. They were very cooperative and flexible with my schedule. On the installation date the installer called before his scheduled arrival time to tell me he'd be a few minutes late, which was much appreciated. The installer, Rick, was great. We had a few moments of anxiety when he explained the new main keypad needed a plug in outlet and there wasn't one near the old panel, which was to be replaced by the new one. He figured out a way to make it work using the wiring in the old control box. Unfortunately, Rick was the first one to install a new type of main keypad they were using in my house. The poor guy was here for almost 6 hours, on what should have been a 2-3 hour installation. There were still minor problems when he left, although the alarm was useable. He said he would call the next day to schedule a return, which he did. He came back the next day, was here for a short time and resolved all the problems. So, while the installation was a bit rocky, Rick remained professional and polite throughout. Everyone I have talked to has been polite and helpful. I love the new system and am glad I upgraded. The $40/month monitoring fee seems a bit steep compared to others, but I think the service is going to work wel.

    Purchase of equipment was easy working with FrontPoint rep over the phone. They ship everything to you with do-it-yourself instructions for installing. It is easy to call FrontPoint to get immediate assistance with any problems that you are having. Most of the equipment was easy to set up and install. I encountered some difficulties with the installation of the recessed door sensors which require drilling fairly large holes in the door and door frame. Wireless video cameras also required some set up, but are now operating well. The whole system is operating well and with the Ultimate operating plan that I purchased I am able to arm/disarm system, turn lights on and off, and arm/disarm system via my iPhone.

    Two days after a burglary next door, I called FrontPoint. I had conducted extensive on-line research and they seemed to have what I wanted. I called and spoke with "John" for quite awhile. He answered my questions and then we "walked" through my house to determine its needs. He did not try to high pressure me to buy anything in particular and in fact suggested I didn't need to "double protect" with extra layers of sensors. I like the flexibility of the product and the ease of use. 
    The sensors and monitors were shipped to me. They were easy to install. We had to wait until Monday morning to activate but this was easily accomplished. Now, we have a safer home with security monitoring.
    I like the facts that I can add additional sensors or monitors. I plan to add carbon monoxide and smoke detectors later. I am especially pleased with the app to download onto my cell phone. I can deactivate the alarm from my car when returning home and/or turn on lights.  I can also activate if I realize I forgot to do it prior to leaving. 
    The monthly fee is typical with the service. The equipment price was reasonable. I am very pleased.

    He is the most reasonably priced individual in this area. He does outstanding work. He is very personable and easy to get along with. He listens to you and answers your questions, and if he doesn’t have the answer he’ll follow up with you once he finds it. I called him concerning the project and less than five minutes later he called back; he is very responsible.

    Curt was supposed to arrive between 5PM and 6PM.  He came at 5:15PM and apologized for being late.  How refreshing is that?  As he looked over our house set up he saw that installing a LAN line system would be clumsy (difficult for him, and an awkwardly placed panel for us).  Though he was willing, we were pleased when he offered to upgrade us to a cell-phone based system for $4/month more.  The normal price is $8, and we felt no pressure to accept.  We did take the offer, and are pleased with the final product.  After the installation, Curt showed us how to use the device, invited us to call him personally with any questions, and then gave us a 10-minute overview of small-ticket/effort upgrades we might make to our own security (better front door locks, etc.)  None of this earned him or his company a cent.  Most of what he said we would not have thought of, but we will definitely implement. 
    Bottom line:  Security One offers an inexpensive security system install and low-pressure, informative security advice.  We are very pleased, and will be recommending this company, and our representative to interested friends!
