Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Fall City

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Three major areas (kitchen, master bath, guest bath) in our home were gutted and completely remodeled for an upscale look. We are extremely happy with the results. The crew from ATG are great. They are all very friendly, professional and excellent at their respective jobs. We would definitely rely on them again to do work on our house.

  • The entire team was very professional and really, really good at their respective jobs and trades. For example, one person did a lot of the work from installing cabinetry to refinishing the floors. It was unbelievable that one person could do so many things with perfection. Also, the tile person laid each tile by hand, taking it off the mesh backing. The cuts and grout lines are perfect. Our kitchen was completely removed and rebuilt and looks fantastic. It has definitely changed the entire feel of our home. There were times when the schedule had minor slips (which is why the B rating for punctuality) for one reason or another, but we were patient because the quality of work was worth the wait. Overall, we are extremely happy with them and will be having them back to do more work on our home soon.

  • This was our second major remodel project. Accordingly, we had a better idea of what to expect in terms of the overall remodeling process. Pete Lange, owner, was excellent to deal with - he is very fair minded and endeavors to create happy clients. Pete provided overall project oversight, materials ordering, and communication. Sean was assigned by Pete as his overall project manager and did good work during both demolition and various rebuild activities. In addition, we appreciated Sean's attention to daily cleanliness in keeping our home as clean as possible during the work project. Pete also scheduled his subcontractors in a well coordinated manner. Particularly good work was performed by his drywall & painting subcontractor, as well as his tile floor/shower tile subcontractor. All in all, strong execution by Excel General Contracting. We are now also having Pete quote on an additional project for us given this performance.

  • It wasn't what I'd call a great experience and it wasn't a great value. He's basically a high end contractor and I'm just looking for a good value contractor.  He's a nice guy and I don't fault him; he didn't mislead me or anything of that nature.  From the time we scheduled to the time he showed up it was okay, possibly 1/2 hour late.  I think that his interpretation of what he had contracted with Angie's List to provide was different than that what was published by Angie's List.  His professionalism was pretty good, but the deliverables were just not what I expected.

  • While we previously had a few homes built for us around the country, this was our first remodeling experience.  KitchenPlus was selected by us primarily because of their ideas and design capability - providing us visual plans to review prior to the work being done and us finalizing the contract with them.  We compared KitchenPlus against three other firms (all A rated by Angie's List).  KitchenPlus was in the upper 50% as to pricing.  Their competitors did not offer this detailed design ready capability nor an ability to bounce ideas to get to a finished design.
The work performed was led by their lead contractor, James, and took about 3.5 months to fully complete.  James did an excellent job throughout the project.  James was thorough in his work and kept us well informed during the entire remodel period.  Special mention should be made regarding their tile guys (Pascal and Caleb) who did an excellent job in the shower and kitchen backsplash areas.
We were impressed that when challenges did occur during the project, they were immediately addressed by KitchenPlus.  When there was a supplier issue with our granite, the co-owner (Kelly) stepped in and immediately resolved the problem.
In sum, we recommend KitchenPlus and appreciated the owner's involvement where necessary.

  • Absolutely perfect work. The drywall repair is so amazing. Polo did the work. This guy is an artist. Blending the work into a semi textured ceiling. It took two days- as you need to let the first coat dry and finish the next day.

  • Floors went pretty well, but for some reason he decided not to use shims on shower walls to keep all tiles in same plane. When it came time to grout, the corners of some tiles were slightly recessed in relation to the tiles around them and the grout lines were not crisp in those spots. He also used thinner spacers than was planned for and ended up with a narrow open strip around the top of the shower walls. We decided to fill with strips taken from glass mosaic tiles that matched an accent strip already set in the shower walls. Unfortunately, the strips that fit the narrow band were all the same pattern of colors and the result was a strip that gave the shower a circus big-top look. I pulled those tiles as quickly as I could to avoid having the adhesive he used set any further. Kevin did install that strip as we had discussed, but I was not impressed with his "eye" or with his apparent unwillingness to at least call and express doubt about how it looked.
When tiling the shower walls, he did not lay down a sheet of plastic or anything on the floor and a goodly amount of thinset and grout ended up there. He assured me he would scrape it up before laying the 1" square tile floor. When I got home from work, he had grouted the floor but had not cleaned the excess off the tiles, leaving that for me to do (he had also done a poor job of it on the floor areas, leaving significant haze on most of both floors).
When I got the excess grout off the shower floor, it was obvious he had not scraped the floor, as the 1" tiles were tilted at odd angles in many places. Kevin talks a good game, but doesn't listen much and his workmanship is not good. He also left thinset stains in multiple places on brick walkways around the house where he had mixed it (again, plastic sheeting would have been a simple solution). In my experience, his workmanship was sub-mediocre, he clearly doesn't follow through to completion and leaves messes with little consideration for the homeowner.

  • We chose them for the job as they were the home builders as well as their good reputation .The job is currently in progress. They job started recently and is projected to finish next July.  They are super detailed and very through. I have learned a lot from them already. Everything has been going great!

  • The provider came out January 27th and did measurings. He sent a design, I asked for a change. I sent a message to him asking if he could finish the designs. I did receive a message stating the provider was out of town, I told him it had taken too long and wanted a refund. He was nice, but never followed through.
