    Corvus Construction
I hired Corvus Construction to do a remodel on my game room due to the water heater leaking. First off Denis was easy to communicate with and was able to get my project in within a timely manner, as I had my wedding coming up and needed it done before family arrived. From the first day they showed up to my home they always kept me informed on the progress, upcoming plan, and left my house clean! His crew was timely, well mannered, and respectful to my home. Not to mentioned the work they performed was amazing! Between the heated floors, wet bar with granite countertops, tile work, and the fireplace, it was better then I pictured! I now spend every evening enjoying my game room and I couldnt be happier with the result! I have hired them again for my bathroom remodel this fall! Thank you guys, see you soon!

Showed up on-time; did a great job; polite; took great care in masking all architectural details in the room;  looks fabulous.  Brad (owner) showed up to ensure his team knew what they were supposed to do & then left them to do their jobs; answered all my questions.

Kris and his gang were amazing to work with. They came in after a horrible experience with another contractor and quickly began to fix the numerous issues he left us with. He has an excellent pool of subcontractors who were able to quickly attend to the numerous issues and get us back on schedule. Kris was careful to maintain the character of our historic home and communicated frequently with us about any and all scheduling. Overall it was a great experience and we would hire him again in a heartbeat.

They did an absolutely fabulous job. His work ethic, he and all of his crew were always here, they cleaned up every single day. We were having a big birthday party during the construction and they pull and hid it everything away. It is just good enough gone smoother, easier, and better. The job was completed. They had to come back because we were doing other things at the same time. So, they work their schedule around us and finished at the end of November. They knocked up the work in about 6 weeks, the whole addition to the house.

    Everett Builders, Inc
We recently had the pleasure of hiring Everett Builders (Pat
and Dan) to do a remodel and addition to our home in Everett.  We added 8ft of living space off of our
kitchen and 8 ft off our master bedroom with a complete remodel of the kitchen
and bedroom. Dan a Pat took care of everything, from the planning, building permits,
construction, and the final touches.  Pat
and Dan were instrumental in helping us with the interior design, and making all
the decisions required when remodeling, it can be overwhelming. But with their
down to earth professionalism, it was much easier. Not only did we get our new
dream home, but we have made great new friends with Pat and Dan
If you want your job done right, with real people you can
    trust, hire Everett Builders.

We started out great, they had great ideas to add to our plans in our head. We were happy with the quality of the work done and really the price we paid. We had a few issues along the way. One, he had a lead person who ended up quitting in the middle of the job and two the contract did not seem as clear once we got to the nitty gritty of what is included we did not agree.
I learned from this project to be clearer and ask what I thought were obvious questions in the contract.
I don't think he was trying to rip me off, I think he had a different vision of what I had and we butted heads towards the end.
I would recommend but ensure your contract is clear between the two of you.

Late last year I contacted my builder because my front porch was sinking and the front roof line had torn away from the face of the home.  She came to inspect the property and stated that "it was a landscaping issue and she could prove it in court."  She offered to level my front porch which would push the roof line back to the home and then caulk the seam.  I asked her what she was going to do to ensure the porch would not move and cause this again.  She stated " I can't guarentee anything won't move."  I then had to hire an engineer to come out to acutally tell me the problem.  It was determined that when the home was built the footings used to support the roof line where not big enough to support the pounds per square foot of the roof and that they did not use the proper brackets and lag bolts to attach the roof line to the home.  I contacted my builder to discuss the issue and later was served with a settlement offer of 2000.00 and i would have to release her of any further claims in the future.  Long story short, I had to hire a restoration company to fix my situation due to her way of fixing it was not the correct way to fix it.  She refused to cover those costs so it went to litigation and has currently been dropped as the builder is more willing to spend money in attorney fees than she is helping cover a portion of the costs to repair my home and keep her reputation intact.  I would NEVER recommend this builder to anyone.  This restoration cost me 11,000.00 plus 5000.00 in legal fees and all I asked her for was to pay half the cost of the repair.  Like I said, you would think in today's home market she would have wanted to keep her reputation intact.

Lance Harvey Trucking & Excavating also builds homes. They built my new home. We had a few warranty type issues such as the door bell not working properly, and a backyard that does not drain due to incorrect grading of the lot. It turns out that the drainage system that the engineer designed for this lot was never installed.

Why wasn't it installed? The builded asked the city inspector if they could skip it. The inspector said "Sure."

So when we bought the home everything looked great. After we go in we notcied the drainage issues and discovered that the inspector overruled the engineer's design (something that he absolutely does NOT have the power to do).

Permits for another property on the same lot was put on hold by the city until the drainage system was put in.Lance Harvey put in the drainage system that should've been there all along.

Had it been in place as it is now, we would NOT have purchased this home. We now have a sump pump in our crawl space and gravel everywhere. Where there isn't gravel there are large iron grates.

Did I mention our backyard still doesn't drain due to the fact that the grading is backwards (slopes towards the house)? We have now been in our home for 6 months and the doorbell still doesn't work and the yard still doesn't drain. Lance Harvey refuses to honor the warranty and in fact won't even acknowledge our existance.

We have retained a lawyer and are going to do the repairs ourselves and force Lance to pay for it through the court system.

In short: Lance Harvey refuses to honor the builders warranty and refuses all attempts at communication.

UPDATE:  We are now proceeding with sueing Lance Harvey Trucking and Excavating for a little less that $10k (before legal expenses which we are also pursuing).  Lance refuses to do warranty work for us or our neighbors (whose homes he also built).  He refuses communication, sends unlicensed contractors to perform work (which just makes things worse).

Nearly a year into our new home and he still refuses to correctly install a $10 doorbell.  He claims we want 'chimes' but all we want is the two note (Ding-D***) that the manufacturer of the doorbell says we should have.  We've put a LOT of our own money into fixing things that he refuses to fix.

After talking to inspectors with The City it has become apparent that Lance bribed or cajoled the inspectors into letting them build on this land without installing ANY drainage system.  The drainage system as designed by the engineer was skipped entirely.  When asked why this was allowed to happen the city inspector revealed that he knew the drainage system as designed was inadequate, so when he was asked if they could skip it entirely he said "OK".  Meaning he knew it wouldn't work at all and that there would be problems but "hey, it's all OK, right?  I mean they asked nice".

The good ole boy club runs rampant around Lance Harvey.

    BNC Painting

Signed contract to have work performed.  Difficult to access areas were addressed and noted.  Pressure Washed house in March of 2011.  Scraped house in late March 2011, some caulking applied.  Due to weather no work performed until August 2011.  House was not rescraped,  some primer was applied to siding bare spots.  I do not believe the bare wood eaves were primed since I can see areas with no primer or top coat.  Prep work was not done in a professional manner.  Company owner was brash and difficult to work with.

The paint job was to be two top coats over primer.  First top coat was to be back brushed then resprayed.  Again I know the back brushing did not occur because I found areas that would have had paint if they were back brushed.  I have found areas in my eaves where there are spider webs that have been sprayed over, if the area had been scraped and back brushed the spider webs would not exist with paint.  Paint was dripped/splattered on my cars (most was cleaned off).  I still have paint cans in my back yard from the workers.

It took them seven months to do what they did.  They warranteed the work.   I am afraid to have them come back out.
