  • Not good. After checking a few companies, i knew the general price was around $800 for the work i needed done. South West advertises a lot in the area and had a $50 off coupon so i gave them a shot. First, dispatch failed them. I was told between 4-6 and at 5:30 they told me they still hadn't found a plumber certified in gas and would get back to me. then about 15 minutes later, a crew shows up at the door. One experienced tech and a trainee in tow...they seemed professional enough. i had the crawl access open but he told me he didn't even need to see it. He proceeded to write an estimate for $2800.00 for 70' of piping work. When i inquired why, he told me it would take a full day. Evidently they pay their crew several hundred an hour...?? I dismissed them and told them i would not use their service. It was quite clear they were gouging. Today, i had another reputable company come and estimate and complete the work. My total was $819 including tax and the work took just over 3 hours. Turned out, it would have been cheaper but the gas was not present in the crawl space at all so they had to do some extra work. The "estimate" from SC Plumbing would have been higher on job day because of this.

  • They installed a 60,000 btu 96% efficiency 2-stage, variable speed fan Rheem gas furnace. Installed Honeywell Pro 8000 thermostat. They completed the work in 1 day. The two installers were courteous and went through the operation of the furnace and the thermostat before departing. They really cleaned up the place before they left.
They responded promptly to my call to come out after the install and fill-in some gaps in the caulking around the exhaust pipes. I have used this company for previous gas furnace repairs and was not disappointed with this install. I will also be using them for my yearly maintenance.

  • First, I had them put in a gas line from the house to a fire pit.   The guy that came out was late and didn't want to dig the trench.   So we dug the trench so he could drop a gas line in and hook it up.   We then argued about the height out of the ground.   I told the guy the fire pit would be no more than 18" above the ground,  and the pipe would be 22" and need to be cut down.    Fast forward to the hook up call...
They call me at 824am (Supposed to be here at 830am) to tell me they "aren't sure they have the tools to do the hook up and that I need to send the tech pictures of the pipe.   I send this guy pictures and he immediately calls me back and tells me basically I can't cut the line and the only way to do the install is to dig up the line and "Move it".    The pipe is buried under 18" of dirt and now covered by pavers and a patio (Hence the term 'built in fire pit').     By this point I'm beyond angry and "Bruce" the manager gets on and tries to tell me I'm screwed.    Never mind they were supposed to be here by now and the answer I get to the basic question "What are you going to do to make this right" - "The tech that installed it isn't here and I will see what I can do" (E.g. Screw you).    In short walk away from these guys.   They are unprofessional, unreliable and LAZY!!!!

  • Neil Marky is the owner of this company and starting with the estimate to the completion of the project he and his staff, Tyler, did an excellent job. Neil went above and beyond the service provided by installing larger piping, since my husband does some woodworking in the garage, because he wanted to make sure everything was safer. It takes a lot of piping to do this job and he made it look very neat and even hung brackets up so that we can use them for storing other things, if we want. He put insulation coverings over the pipes on the water heater to further increase efficiency. Neil even got all the permits for the job to be completed. He arranged for an electrician to come over and talked with the inspector after the installation. He and Tyler placed a lot of the piping in the attic to be vented outside of the house. The price he quoted me was accurate with a few changes since I wanted some additional piping and a new thermostat installed.
I am very impressed with the excellent job that Puget Sound Gas did on my house and would recommend his services to anyone. All of the workers who came to the house were very courteous and accommodating. I would definitely use him again. Thank you Neil, great job!!!

  • The technician, Todd, quickly installed the new branch line and was very professional. He went out of his way to ensure I knew what my options were and what the best way of solving my problem was.
