    JD Hunt Paving LLC

JD Hunt and Company were fantastic to work with. They were responsive and dealt with unexpected scope changes with professionalism. The office staff did their best to fit me into the schedule during a busy time of year. I highly recommend their services for any job, big or small.

Came at very short notice, and worked on a Sunday.  Gave me the best possible deal and made sure that my car could be safely navigated down the driveway before leaving.  Took into consideration that there would be construction in the neighborhood during the week and that I would need to be able to drive the car duing the week.  Went totally above-and-beyond to address concerns with a neighbour.

    JD Hunt Paving LLC
Communication was very good, work was scheduled out six weeks but arrived on the job exactly when they said they would.  Removal of the old material was difficult and labor intensive but completed in the first day.  Paving occurred on day two.  The amount of asphault used exceeded our expectation.  Workmanship was excellent.  Clean-up of the area required a third day.
This company does what they say they are going to do, they charge a fair price, and they deliver a good finished product.

    Roads Paving WA LLC
I was very happy with the level of communication and final product.  I had been concerned about getting sealer on the concrete porches, foundation, etc. and was please that they were extremely careful in regard to this concern.  Product appeared to be applied appropriately and not thinned as I have heard some places do.  They were good about getting the edges of the driveway sealed as well.  I'll use Roads Paving again.

    NYS Enterprises Inc
You get what you pay for. We found out the hard way. Nys Enterprises was much less expensive than other estimates, and less than a year later the seal coat was flaking off and moss was growing through it. I believe this to be for two reasons:
    1) Pressure washing of the three driveways proved to be too much work and too time consuming, so did not thoroughly pressure wash and treat to remove the moss prior to seal coat (even though it was in the contract).
    2) The seal coat material itself was poor quality. Thin and watery even when it was first applied. Did not last.
I would definitely not recommend Nys Enterprises for seal coating unless you plan to have them re-apply it every six months.

    Harms Paving Co Inc
Harm's came out and paved my never before paved drive (61ft x 12ft) plus spread crushed rock an additional parking area. They did a great job! They put up with me adding more and more to their scope of work. Of all the companies I contacted they were the cheapest and the only ones that came out and looked at the job before the bid. The only negative was their communication. It wasnt very good and it took multiple calls to see the job through to completion. I started out communication via email the switched to telephone tag and finally to text messages (which worked best). They were a no show a couple of times and the annoying thing was that they didnt call to let me know what was up, I had to call them. In the end it took 6 days from grading to paving which included a weekend and a holiday. I would use them again but would really hammer home the need for good communication.

Joe Myers used a subcontractor for the resurface and painting of our parking lot, however, the subcontractor was increadible...despite having bid the job, they did extra work we requested at only a small increase over the bid price...

    Compass Asphalt Paving
DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!!  1.) The seal coat material began to peel from the asphalt within 3-months.  Complaints to Compass went unanswered for weeks, then, we saw him working on another project and pulled over to tell him.  He blamed the manufacturer of the product.  He would not fix his mess.  He told us to pursue the manufacturer...2.) The re-striping of the parking spaces was a complete fiasco.  Compass hired a subcontactor who demanded more money before he would begin work.  We ended up paying the additonal money.3.) The paint used started peeling within days of application.  Repeated complaints to Compass went unanswered.  When we saw him working on another project and stopped to confront him about the paint peeling, he told us that the paint had reacted with inferior seal coating material and we would have to go after the manufacturer of the seal coating material...4.) We paid for 10 wheelstops to be installed, however, he only brought 7.  Only after weeks of repeated calls did he finally deliver the remaining 3 wheelstops.

    JK Meurer
I was happy with the work done. There was some miscommunication initially with getting the estimate done, but Mitch Meurer was very apologetic and was very accessible via email after that. His crew was very knowledgeable and worked quickly.

The driveway looks great but cleanup was not great. They left the street messy although they said they would clean it up, and didnt come back to pick up the orange delineator.
