    John Boitano Construction
John did a great job. He came at the time scheduled. He matched the grain of the siding so that it looked like the existing siding beautifully. John got the job done quickly and we are very satisfied. John is very honest. I feel comfortable with him working on our house. His work is professionally done. I will definitely use him again. He is a contractor that has a wide variety of skills. Next he will be installing storm doors for us as soon as they arrive. I would rate John at a ten.

    North Cascade Custom Building
It was awful. The crew that he had was good. He would tell me and text me that he would be there next morning to work at a certain time. I would get off work and come home and there would be a one man crew. He would then text that he had something else come up. He was unreliable. He was messy. He didn’t bother to haul off the old pieces of siding that he had to take off to work. It took longer than it should have been done. He said that he would spray the house and a part was done. Then he never came back and I ended up doing it myself. He was just totally unreliable. His price was good but quality was lousy. I would rather pay more and get good service. He had left a lot of nails which we had to go around and pick. I would not use him in the future.

    JVG Woodwork & Construction
He failed to obtain building permits on the original portion of the remodel which ultimately caused the county to condemn the site because of the "dangerous nature of the construction". The basement flooded due to grading slope toward the house. There was no connected venting causing water to pour into the house through a fake vent and flow throw bathroom fans. There were no headers above the doors and windows. No permitted stairway access into the basement. He was sited by L&I for hazardous wiring (hanging down & exposed) in the electrical room. It was determined by L&I that this was done by Mr. Gordon and not the electriction, so he was fined several thousand dollars. Wall heaters were not connected or were missing dials; The siding split on nearly every board; the country required the insulation be removed and replaced from the ceilings. The walls and ceiling had to be reinforced because they were not safely connected. The county required the house be gutted, re-engineered and rebuilt to code by another contractor. I sued Mr. Gordon and prevailed in court. On the day of the judge's decision, Mr. Gordon served me with his bankruptcy papers. There are two other well documented cases where Mr. Gordon had constructed shoddy, unsafe homes. In those two cases, the owners had no money to pursue him in court but he did name them in his bankruptcy filings. According to the state, Mr. Gordon lost his contractor's license and his insurance/bond was cancelled. (I prevailed in court & collected his bond). I am very surprised he is still in business. How can this be possible? I'm calling the contractor license board - again!!

    Mr McHandy
Mr. McHandy was very cheerful and personable, yet professional. My seven month old grandson is starting to pull himself up, so I wanted Mr. McHandy to attach two bookcases to the wall. I also asked him to put up a plant hanger. When he arrived, I told him I had a couple extra things for him to do, if he had the time. He said that would be fine (it didn't faze him a bit that I sprang a couple more tasks on him). Earlier in the day, I had tried to assemble a high chair, but found I'm not strong enough to do it. I asked Mr. McHandy if he'd tackle it for me. He sat right down on my living room floor and commenced to assemble it! It was great. He made himself at home and helped me out. Then I asked him to change a light bulb for me, because I have nine foot ceilings and I'm short and have a difficult time reaching when I'm on a ladder. Not a problem for him!

The job was completed on time and on budget without need for change orders. Very professional work; very responsive in correcting small problems which emerge in a job of this size.
