AStern's MasonryJake and team did a magnificent job! Our house looks brand new. They were here on time every day (except when it froze ) and were professional and hard-working. AACME Masonry By Jon WarfieldHe excelled in craftsmanship. The local masons found the job to be too complex and Jon performed the job in an exceptionally skilled manner. His price was far superior than anything in the local area and we were extremely pleased with him.- Tim N.

AACME Masonry By Jon WarfieldAn old world craftsman! He's dependable, honest, extremely skilled, listened to our suggestions and incorporated our ideas into his masonry. A repeat customer! APatterson MasonryWe found Patterson Masonry in the Yellow Pages, and their ad said they did residential, commercial, brick, block, stone, and retaining walls. My husband called and talked to Jody Patterson, who made an appointment for later that day to come give us a free estimate of the repair work on our deteriorating chimney. Jody was working on another project in an area 90 miles away at that time, but said he would come by in the early afternoon to give us an estimate. The project he was on took longer than expected, and Jody called us twice to let us know that he was going to be delayed. We appreciated his keeping us in the loop as to when to expect him. He had another larger job coming right up, but since ours was small he was able to work us in by arriving at 7 AM the next day. He arrived promptly, with his brother Joel and a helper. They had the necessary equipment on a flat-bed trailer, including scaffolding (they were careful not to damage our metal roof). By appeance, they did a excellent job, and it didn't take them very long to complete it. When they were finished, they took broom and dustpan and cleaned up their mess. Way to go, guys!!! We had already received another estimate, and Jody Patterson's matched it, so we knew his price was reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend him or hire him again for another project. Though he lives just south of Yakima, he does work all over Eastern Washington.- Lynn A.

AToms HandiiIt was excellent. I've used him through years and I've always been real happy with him. He does great work. One nice about him is when you schedule appointments he is always there on time and he always calls prior to coming. Even if he is going to be late, like last time, he was going to be late about 15 minutes, he even called to let me know he is going to be 15 minutes late. You don't get that anymore. I've had him do a wide range of things and I've always been real happy with everything he has done, from toilets to masonry to sinks to garbage disposals. I've never had a problem with anything. I've been using him for quite a few years now and that's a pretty good record, at least for me. I know each person probably may have a different experience, but I've had a great one so far. He has a really fair price.- Terry F.

AJEI MasonryJames and John Johnson at JEI are fast, fair honest and professional. We used them for a single-family rental remodel that needed a lot of masonry repair. After their job was completed, the roof contractor found an unexpected last minute repair that needed to be made before they could continue their project. JEI was able to fit us in the schedule and get the job done with no delay for the roofers. We highly recommend them.- kim c.

AJVG Woodwork & ConstructionThe job was completed on time and on budget without need for change orders. Very professional work; very responsive in correcting small problems which emerge in a job of this size.- Earl S.

AJohnston Stoneworks Inc.He is just fabulous. He is a skilled worker. He came out and helped us with the design and he cleaned up like we have never seen anyone done before. He is very personable and a delightful contractor. We just couldn’t rate him highly enough. We just bought the rocks separately and he just did the work. I think everyone says he is a little on the higher side but he is well worth it. We would use them in the future.- Kenneth C.

FI've been screwed over by that company. It exceeded estimate by almost three times. I had to sue the guy and go to arbitration, he was adding the bill drastically. He really should not work as contractor ever again.

AWe were very pleased with the service. When we were initially given the quote, he did not see a spot that really needed to be replaced. After the job was done, I brought this to his attention. He came out on a separate day, mixed new mortar, and fixed that spot for no additional charge, even though it was not included in the original quote.

FHe failed to obtain building permits on the original portion of the remodel which ultimately caused the county to condemn the site because of the "dangerous nature of the construction". The basement flooded due to grading slope toward the house. There was no connected venting causing water to pour into the house through a fake vent and flow throw bathroom fans. There were no headers above the doors and windows. No permitted stairway access into the basement. He was sited by L&I for hazardous wiring (hanging down & exposed) in the electrical room. It was determined by L&I that this was done by Mr. Gordon and not the electriction, so he was fined several thousand dollars. Wall heaters were not connected or were missing dials; The siding split on nearly every board; the country required the insulation be removed and replaced from the ceilings. The walls and ceiling had to be reinforced because they were not safely connected. The county required the house be gutted, re-engineered and rebuilt to code by another contractor. I sued Mr. Gordon and prevailed in court. On the day of the judge's decision, Mr. Gordon served me with his bankruptcy papers. There are two other well documented cases where Mr. Gordon had constructed shoddy, unsafe homes. In those two cases, the owners had no money to pursue him in court but he did name them in his bankruptcy filings. According to the state, Mr. Gordon lost his contractor's license and his insurance/bond was cancelled. (I prevailed in court & collected his bond). I am very surprised he is still in business. How can this be possible? I'm calling the contractor license board - again!!
