  • Terrible work as you can see in the image. This was my 81 year old mother in-law. We tried many times to get the company to come out and repair the work. Now we will need to hire a second company to remove the tile, replace the sheetrock and install new tile. She paid the money up-front.

  • From initial contact through completion we received the highest professionalism and competence from Five Star Painting of Federal Way. Beyond that they were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our color selection was perfect. Than you to Terry, Nick and team from the Anderson family.

  • Service was good, they were on time. Be ready to pay for a $99 “safety check” even if you don’t want it. They go all around your house and basically make a huge list of everything they want you to upgrade. I really just wanted the chandelier hung, so I found this slightly annoying but they do it with every service call.

  • I own and operate more than 50 residential properties in the Pierce County, WA, area. I will NEVER hire A Advanced for work again. The septic inspection was performed by an angry, little man that simply hated his job. He was unprofessional and didn’t take care or pay attention to detail whatsoever. He had a helper with him that dumped more dirt and rock into the pump chamber than I had dug up from around the lid. The icing on the cake is they “started a new computer system” that week. Oddly, an April repair gets an additional $458 invoice in October after $241 was paid May 1...hmmm. Stay away and go with Flohawks.

  • Fantastic! Northern Pacific Exteriors were punctual, professional, and a pleasure to work with. They didn't waste our time or try and hard pressure us into buying windows like some of their competitors. *Cough* looking at you Renewal by Anderson... They respected the fact that we were going to get multiple quotes. They did excellent work. The windows were installed properly, including removing the siding and installing correctly, utilizing the window flanges. All the workers were competent and friendly. They answered any questions we had and were respectful of our property. Their workers are all employees, no sub-contractors. Full life-time warranty on the glass as long as we own the house. They were a little more expensive than the middle of the road companies, but you pay for what you get. It was about $1000-1100 per window. They certainly weren't the most expensive, that would be Renewal by Anderson, who wanted to charge $67,000 to do 15 windows! I would gladly hire Northern Pacific Exteriors again.

  • Started deck over two years ago. Did not complete installation of lighting on deck, customized steps, and secure safety issues with loose boards and unsecured railing. Left flush mounted lights without securing with screws. Met with Mr. Meadows in mid June and he said deck would be complete this summer. No screws in half of flush mounted lights. One flush mounted light busted and would not work. One light is not flush mounted as the others. I sent texts month of July and August 2018. I sent email requesting response. I also phoned to request schedule of completing light installation so I could get ready to paint deck. He has not responded at all. He has totally abandoned this project. Very disgusted with his services.

  • Raul Rocete and his workers did an excellent job. He gave us a bid on Thursday, pressure-washed on Saturday, and masked and painted Monday-Thursday. He was easy to communicate with and left the place neat and tidy. He is bonded and insured. He brought to our attention some boards and a roof tile that needed replacing. He offered to replace them, and we agreed to pay him extra to do so. He did an excellent job, was easy to deal with, and the price was reasonable.

  • Needed a service repair (ice maker) on an out of warranty Samsung refrigerator. The two local companies that service the Tacoma, WA area did not respond to the email request. I attempted to make an appointment with some other local companies, but they did not service Samsung. It took three calls to the Samsung company to find a service repair. The first wouldn't be able to come out for a month to look at the appliance. The second wanted to charge $100 for the diagnostics, and that amount was not applied to any service or parts. Although Sharper Service Solutions is based in the Portland, OR area, they do provide service to the Tacoma, WA area. They were able to come to my house the next day, had the necessary parts on hand, and fixed the refrigerator in about 90 minutes. Although it seems that repairs are always more than what we want to pay, it was a fair price. The technician also provided information about possible other problems to watch out for based on his service experience. I highly recommend.

  • Spartan Services, Inc. and two plumber-trainees, Anthony (Tony) Deeter and Enrique Woodhouse have been officially cited on the L & I website for not having a licensed plumber to oversee the work at my home. They are either very dishonest (my take on it) and/or very incompetent. To make a very long story short . . . The estimator ( and principle of the company), Mason McCleary, didn't look under my home to see what the job entailed. Gave me a quote. I accepted, thinking he knew his business. Two guys did the repipe job. I paid them in full, on the spot, with my credit card. I gave them chocolates. They left. I had insulators come out to bid on insulating the new pipe. They said they couldn't do the work because the pipe was hung out of compliance in a big way. That's when I found out That Spartan Services, Inc. was to have pulled a permit with the Washington State Dept. of Labor and Industries so that an inspection could take place. When I informed Spartan Services, Inc. of this revelation, they denied needing one, which was a big fat lie. This company has been in business long enough to know the laws and codes. They could have checked on this permit requirement when I informed them. They chose to deny it, and they got quite testy with me. So, in order to get the inspection, I pulled the permit ($202.50). The work was inspected. L&I found nine code infractions at first glance. L&I told Spartan Services, Inc. that it was going to start fining them if they didn't pull a permit. Only then did Spartan Services, Inc. pulled a permit. These are just a few examples of their illicit work: Spartan Services, Inc. attached a long run of pipe under my porch which isn't attached to my home (completely illegal and exposed to the elements). The pipe is to be hung under my home and everyone knows that. They hung pipe under my home, too low, so insulation and rodent barrier couldn't be installed. They tied new pipe to existing old pipe, multiple times, when the invoice shows that I paid to have all old pipe removed and replaced with new pipe. They attached new pipe to lumber under my home that is not attached to anything! There is new pipe strung in front, and against my hot water tank, so that I can't put an insulating blanket over it and the pipe is completely in the way if I need to replace the tank. L & I took lots of pictures. After the inspection (which they weren't counting on), Spartan Services, Inc. wanted me to pay more money to bring the repipe job up to compliance. I refused because I had already paid for a compliant job. The estimator chose not to evaluate the work before giving me a quote. Spartan Services, Inc. chose not to pull the permit when I informed them that they need one. Spartan Services, Inc. chose not to use a licensed plumber. They chose to installed the pipe incorrectly. Took my money. Was caught by L&I. Then, wants more money? When I realized these people were dishonest on so many levels, (and I fully believe the crap work they did was not innocent mistakes. They were taking advantage of a senior citizen), I had the full payment disputed with my credit card company. Spartan Services, Inc. did not contest the dispute. I thought I was stuck working with this creepy business, so I said I would pay them when the job passed inspection. Instead, Spartan Services, Inc. walked away from the job, with no money. Washington State Dept. of Labor and Industries couldn't fine them for all the code infractions because they walked away. Spartan Services, Inc. was only fined for not having a licensed plumber on the job. I think they got off lightly. But, at least, it's on the L&I website, for those who want to check it out. I can back up everything I have explained in this review.

  • The salesman was polite and informative..and very nice. I got three bids and two were close, but because of the salesman at Acme, I felt most comfortable with Acme. The roofers were very nice and attentive to their job, even though one day was in the 90s. They worked hard, cleaned up when finished...I couldn't be happier with all of them.
