Excavating reviews in Burien

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I originately poke with the owner about the estimate. I gave him lol the information f what I wanted. I had my architect send him copies of the plan. I never heard from him again. I called and left messages. I emailed him an left messages. I never heard from him. I was very unhappy with the unprofessional way he acted towards me.

  • Excellent - Courtney was very conscientious and professional despite an odd-ball neighbor who tried to interfere. Wall has been completed for a couple of weeks now, unsure of longevity. The only concern I have is drainage behind the main wall, I noticed only a relatively thin layer of gravel used at the base and no drain pipe, will this stand the test of time or the first heavy rain? I trust that Courtney knows his stuff and did what was needed so I did not question him about it. Other than that, the overall experience and the results are aesthetically pleasing and show pride in workmanship. I gave him a B on price because there was a Angie's List coupon that I relied on for calculating my cost but Courtney was not aware of its existence.

  • We strongly recommend Seattle Rockeries. The construction team did a great job, despite the most challenging of weather conditions almost every day. Hands-on team leader Benjamin was first class; he was careful, demanding, efficient, professional ? and clearly took pride in the work. Ours was a very steep site, and Ben?s experience and good judgment resulted in a very good-looking and high-quality product that leaves us both confident and proud. Theirs was the most reasonable cost estimate, too!

  • As a part of the bid I did old ceiling removal and some demoliition.  From there the contractor took over, starting with removal of demoliition debris, removal of all old sheetrock, expanding electrical service with new outlets and new lighting throughout, new sheetrock ceiling that first required firring strips, new sliding glass windows, new laminated wood flooring and painting throughout.  The work was done timely, professionally and courteously, on schedule and on budget.

  • One morning we walked out into our driveway and water was bubbling up from a crack in the concrete and cascading down the driveway. After a quick call to the water district, our water was shut off at the meter. We were told to call a leak detection company and then to get bids from several plumbers for repairing or replacing the line. After calls to a few leak detection companies, which would have charged at least $500 just to come identify the leaky area, and calls to a few plumbers, who said there was no point in coming to our house to start digging up our pipe until the location of the leak was identified, we called TopGun Plumbing. We explained our situation, including the age of our home (1974) to Al. He told my husband it would probably be the best idea to just replace the entire line, given its age and the fact that it was most likely made of galvanized steel which by now had no doubt degraded to the point where patching it was not likely to be a long-term solution. Given that it would likely have cost a significant amount of money to have a leak detection company come out to our house to identify the exact location of the leak, and then have a plumber come dig the pipe up to confirm the leak and try to repair it, we figured it would be most cost effective over the long-run to just replace the pipe as TopGun suggested.

Once we made the decision to go with them, TopGun put in a temporary above-ground water line which was a life-saver (living with no running water is not easy, especially with a toddler in the house). So basically, on  the same day we called them, TopGun came to the house, assessed the situation, provided a bid for replacing the water line, installed the temporary line, and acquired the necessary permit from the city to do the work. They returned a few days later to do the work. It took one day to do the majority of the line replacement, and then they returned on a second day to patch the small amount of concrete they had to remove in the garage, and to replace topsoil in the parking strip. TopGun uses a trenchless pipe installation system, which saved having to dig up concrete in our driveway - so, bonus, no ugly patches in the drive. The guys who did the work were friendly and professional. They called before the arrived and communicated well. They had us test the water pressure a few times after the new line was installed, to make sure everything was satisfactory.

I am not sure if TopGun provides a cheaper service than other plumbing companies, but I would bet that in many cases they make the process a lot less painful for the homeowner by installing the temporary water line and by using the trenchless excavation system. We really appreciated how quickly they responded to our needs, as having a functioning water line is very important! The fact that they were friendly and efficient was a nice bonus. I hope we won't need to use them again because I hope our new water line lasts for decades, but if we have another leak in the house someday we would certainly call them again.

  • Chad showed up on Thursday and began the demo on Friday. The job was completed and cleaned up on Monday. I was impressed with the professional way the job was completed. I would definitely hire them again.

  • Awesome!! It is not a service that Erik offers but he still took the time to responded to me right away and even provided me a name and number of a company that does provide the service I need. Thank you for your much appreciated time. I will definitely give Erik the opportunity to provide his services if I need them in the future and refer others.

  • They found that we had a sewer pipe open under there when they got there.  It never smelled because it was full of crap.  The alarm system that they installed will go off if the sump pump fills up.  They showed my husband what they did and then we paid him.  Our crawl space was full of water and we had them here to clear it.  There was a plugged up drain.  The guy stuck his arm and pulled out a bunch of branches.  They were probably the best out there.  They always cleaned up their mess.  They took care not to damage our flooring.  I was not sure about the price comparison as my husband handled it.

  • Filco provided an estimate for the removal of the oil tank located in my back yard under a deck. The cost was in my budget so I had them proceed with the work. I had to remove part of the deck before they could proceed. They let me know that I had 30 days once my oil furnace was removed to take advantage of the PLIA fund in the event of oil leakage on the ground from the tank. Thank goodness because the tank had leaked, and Filco came out on short notice to take soil samples, remove the tank, and file a claim from the state fund. Nate from Filco was emailing me each week to give status. I didn't need to take time away from work to be home, they would come out and work. They showed up when they said they would and removed soil by the wheelbarrow. The whole job took about 90 days due to finding more contaminated soil, but everything is filled in and they even replanted my lilac tree. I would recommend them. They did an awesome job.

  • Beware of this company.

This lesson cost us over $10,000.
We had pay another company to come clean up the mess and redo the work.

The stamped patio looked terrible with chipped concrete around all the edges.
Many areas had no color or stamp.
The crew was peeing in my bushes.
The worst experience with a contractor ever.
    Constant "no shows" and promises.
I had to take ANB Concrete to court to get my money back.
ANB didn't show up to the court date.
A judgement was made in my favor but I still have not received payment.
I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.
