  • Phillip did a fabulous job and for a more than a fair price. He had baled us out once before on a botched kitchen cabinet job and Phillip did an awesome job. He is a little hard to get ahold of but that is because he does such a good job and his price is overly reasonable such that he is very popular to hire.

  • I am very impressed with Ben’s work. He is professional and easy to work with. He worked quickly and efficiently and knew just what to do to fix the door. I will most definitely hire him again when we need more work to remodel the den. I have already referred a neighbor to him and highly recommend him to anyone needing services.

  • Everything went perfectly. After several months of use, we still love how good everything looks and works, and we will keep on loving it until we move out someday far in the future. Paul's workers are wonderful people, experienced, with many skills. They like working with Paul and they stay with him, so he has a great team. All of the intricate work of installing tiling, new tub enclosures, building a new and insulated wall between the bathrooms, and finally painting the bathrooms, was done with great skill and artistry. Next, all of our old pressboard siding was replaced with solid, heavy siding, and every piece was perfectly cut. We can't find any spots that don't fit or join together perfectly. For the final exterior painting, they used 18 gallons of paint - a very thick coat for a 1500 sq. ft. house. The deck went together perfectly. I'd wanted wood, because I didn't like the looks of composite boards, but Paul showed me samples of new products that look great, and now we have a deck that I'll never have to stain or paint. One tip: as with all builders, outline a thorough idea of what you'd like in design and materials before you meet with Paul for an estimate. He can't make those decisions for you, and you need to know what kind of countertop material you want, for instance, plus a pretty clear idea of everything you want done. Paul can take it from there, and give suggestions and bring samples, but he can't be your interior decorator. If you're having lots of work done, you might want to hire a decorator first to make color and layout suggestions. I recommend Paul Haugen Construction to everyone on earth! The work gets done beautifully, and he and his friendly workers are a pleasure to have around the house. Now I'll only call Paul for construction work.

  • I replaced my original aluminum windows which were almost 25 years old.  I really appreciated how the product was presented.  Jason was very thorough in his explanations of the product.  The best part was that there was NO game playing (ohhh wait, if you order today, this is what I can do).  He showed me his product, he gave me his bid, and left it to me to decide if I liked it or not.  He even highly suggested that I get other quotes to compare.  A neighbor had recently replaced their windows by another company and I knew how much they paid.

When the men came to install my windows, they again were extremely polite and professional.  They explained what they were doing and made sure I understood why they made any changes. (My house was not square so a few minor adjustments needed to be made to secure the window properly.

I am very happy with my new windows.

  • JC Painting and Remodeling responded within 2-3 business days to my contact request, which is very reasonable. Beau was very courteous and professional. He arrived on time, took measurements, listened intently and was able to offer some suggestions and ideas. The estimate was very detailed, leaving no doubts of what was included. I would recommend having them order your tile, for ease of process and no confusion on the product to be used. We had a problem with the pitch in the shower and Beau, Mike and the owner Jeff made sure they fixed the problem. The tile guy, Mike worked until everything was right and the project was complete. The vanity is beautiful and the shower is such a refreshing change from the death trap tub, with short and dangerous shower doors. Both skilled trade workers, Mike and Bernie, were professional, making sure the floors were protected and the work space left tidy, after each visit. Loving our updated bathrooms!

  • This was a last minute appt. We felt like we were getting the run around from another company and had to make a decision soon. I made calls to 3 new window companies and Champion was the only one willing/ able to get us an appointment immediately( keep in mind this was a holiday weekend) before we had to give our answer to the original company we were speaking with. The director of the region actually was the one to call back and fit me in with a local rep. The only reason we did not go with Champion is due to cost, this home is likely to be a rental in the near future and we didn't see the reasoning in putting high quality windows in. The product was very high quality and the professionalism was AMAZING after what we had been through. The rep was incredibly accommodating after we told him it may be a rental he showed us 3 other options.

  • We have just completed our third project with J. C. Painting and Remodeling (JC). I wrote an Angie?s List review of JC?s work following the first project which included exterior painting of our house, repair/reconstruction of a storage shed, and the demolition and rebuilding a pergola. JC has now rebuilt our front steps from the road to our house and completely remodeled our master bathroom.  The quality of their finished work remains superb. As a (now retired) professional project manager of large maritime and marine construction and repair projects I have been positively impressed with JC?s commitment to doing the job right, delivering quality work product in a timely manner and within budget. Everyone who worked on our projects, across various trades, was clearly a well motivated expert with exceptional work habits. Overall project coordination by Beau Starr was a key component worthy
of individual attention. Beau was on top of everything, all of the time balancing project scope, schedule, and budget while making sure the customer was fully appraised of, and involved in, project decisions and milestones. Jeff, the owner, graciously performed some wall texturing and painting of the bathroom outside of the initial scope of the project at no additional cost because he wanted to be sure the final overall look of the bathroom would be appealing. Working with JC has been a pleasure and we are enjoying the results of their work daily.

  • The rep was unkempt, unprofessional, disorderly, scatterbrained and when told we would get a call back did not come through. I actually had to contact the finance rep myself to answer a question we asked 3 times and still no answer. I have waited to hear back to confirm our contract for 2 days and had to call again to find the rep no longer works for the company. At this point no service has been performed as I still have yet to hear back from Washington Energy.

It seems this was a one off situation with the rep that we originally had. The new rep we were assigned by the sales director after our complaints was VERY professional, punctual, and responsive. They honored the original quote for the house, which from our understanding was very under budget. We got the windows and doors several weeks later and had them installed with an A+ team of meticulous installers( ask for Anthony & Chris), one of the gentlemen actually gave us some valuable info regarding our siding as we did a walk around. all in all I would recommend WES, they have been very proactive in getting this situation turned around.

  • After searching Angie's List to find other contractors that either didn't call me back, refused to even give me an estimate and my favorite, the one that showed up, told me he could do it, gave me an estimate and then emailed me with, "I'm not available to remodel your kitchen" with absolutely no reasons given, I finally gave up and spoke with someone that I knew from my church who did remodeling that I didn't even know was on Angie's list! Rene came to our house, gave us an estimate and began work on 'my' kitchen within approximately 2 months (we are truck drivers so we aren't home a lot....that was the reason for the delay between estimate and work). He gave us the option of gutting our own kitchen to save us money, so my daughter had two of her friends (who had done this sort of thing before) come in and within a day, everything was out.....fridge, cabinet and sinks. We were able to keep our stove in the kitchen throughout the WHOLE remodel which was a blessing! Working with Christian men with great work ethics, our wiring in our kitchen was updated, we had new can lights put in our ceiling, holes in the lathe and plaster repaired, plumbing added for an ice maker and dishwasher, other plumbing updated, painting done and my kitchen door to my enclosed back porch replaced. Rene came over one day and said, "I'm going to block off this doorway and make it a wall and move your fridge here. Then I can add more counter space where your fridge about that?" Not something we had thought of doing, but it was a great idea and we loved it. Instead of putting more counter space, however, we put a floor to ceiling pantry instead!! Talk about thinking outside the box! He was looking out for us by looking for ways to make our very small kitchen bigger! After our family took the peel and stick tiles off of our floor (another option for savings), Rene worked closely with our family to replace our wall cabinets first (so that I would have something to see when I came home for a couple of days of home time). Then our over-the-range microwave, base cabinets, new flooring, new sink and new dishwasher. We also had him add a garbage disposal (my first one ever!) and my all time favorite on demand, hot water dispenser. At then end, he put some great glass tile back splash around our stove and sink/counter top area that looks awesome! I have outlets galore...more that I will probably ever use at one time! He also framed in our other doorway and our new back door to match the framing that is around our kitchen windows so that it pulls it all together! My kitchen is awesome with lots of cabinets, LOTS of counter space and all the extra conveniences that I have never had in 24 years of living in our house. My friends who have seen me tolerate my small, inconvenient kitchen for 24 years are AMAZED at the job that Rene and his sub-contractors did! One of my friends even said that my kitchen looks BIGGER, if that's at all possible! It was great having Rene and other Christian men working on 'my' kitchen, knowing that my daughter would not be subjected to leering, sexual innuendos, vulgar language and other inappropriate behavior during this whole process. And we knew that we were not going to get 'taken' by someone jacking up costs by adding things that we didn't need or want just so that they could line their own pockets! One of my friends knew someone who needed work done in her kitchen and was looking for someone, and it was wonderful to be able to refer a great Christian worker whom I know will do a great job and not take advantage of the family! I have a whole list of other projects I need Rene to do for me and am looking forward to his excellent attitude while he does his excellent work!

  • This company did an outstanding job replacing my roof, windows, doors and gutters. They started my roof just as the unexpected snow started to fall, they made sure that the entire roof was tarped and no leaks would occur. The windows got ordered, two were bad, before they ever got delivered to my house the contractor ensured that they were replaced and all of them looked good enough to go into his house. Everything on the project was effortless for me, I am not available during the day to babysit a contractor, so he made sure that he was onsite daily to make sure that everything was taken care of. Having a dog and cats I was worried about people being in and out of my house, they were very professional and understood this, they made sure that none of my pets got out when the doors and windows were out and being replaced. I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done.
